"Arre wah Khushi teri mehndi ka rang toh bohat acha aaya hai matlab Jeeja Ji tum se bohat pyar karein ge" A lone tear escaped her eyes as she remembered about her friend's comment. She blushed at her comment that time and now she was sitting in front of dresser mirror staring at her mehndi filled hands. The color was indeed very dark a shade of red and black and whole yesterday night she could not sleep, she was just staring at her hands and blushing imagining about her wedding night and that how her husband will love her but her dreams broken! It is not like she was eager to get married, she was doing it for her father's sake who was now become very week after his Bypass surgery. She cannot refuse her father when he asked her to get marry to his friend's son. She was a bit frightened for this marriage perhaps because she knew about Arnav's past but then she has believe in her father that he cannot choose anything bad or wrong for her! But she was wrong, though her father chose the best for her but that was not best for her. It was not Arnav and Khushi never met before. Their fathers were best friends and after Anish Raizada's (Arnav's father) death it was Shashi who supported Arnav to manage all the business and his company. He owe this contribution to Shashi and now she can easily understand why he accepted this proposal because he wanted to return back her father's favor by doing it.
Her thoughts get interrupted at the opening of bathroom door. She looked up to saw him standing there changed into his night dress. He stared her for a while and then moved to the bed, now he was standing near the bed. She silently removing all her jewelery moved to the bathroom.
He fell on the bed with his head in his hands. He does not want this marriage in fact he did not want to get marry because of the hardest truth of his life. A man like him cannot be the ideal to anyone but then Shashi shared his worries about her daughter's marriage to him and asked him if he could marry her. If it was any other person his answer would be a straight No but he cannot say this to Shashi. He owed him so much. He agreed but his heart continuously hitting him with the guilt that he was destroying someone's life, the life of the person whom he always respected and admired but now, the reality was that Khushi is his wife though he tried to end it here but then her tears stopped him from doing it. He has to admit he cannot see her cry ever.
He set the pillow to lay down when thinking for a while, he took the pillow and moved to the recliner. He cannot share bed with her because if he do then he will not be able to control himself having her near him and may end up hurting her. He silently come to the recliner and lay down there. He closed his eyes.

"Jeeji …. Jeeji yahan aao na" She was yelling as she cut her hand with the glass pieces from broken glass and now she was calling Payal instead of stopping the blood oozing out of her finger
"JEEJI ……." Holdinh her hand she came to the living room but she stopped seeing a man instead of her sister. He was busy with his mobile phone
"Aa ….aap kaun" She asked looking at the other person suspiciously
"Hi …. I am Arnav …. Main Sahshi Uncle se milne aaya tha" He replied still busy with his phone
"Acha …. Per Babu Jee toh ghar pe nahi hain" She was about to turn when remembering something she asked him, "Aap ne Payal Jeeji ko daikha hai?" He looked up from his mobile phone in front of him where a girl of about eighteen was standing in simple red shalwar Kameez holding her hand and as his eyes moved to her hand he stepped to her worriedly
"Aap ka haath" He brought his hand to hold hers but she quickly moved her hand to her back leaving him astonished at her act
"Na … nahi ku … kuch nahi ….." He ignored her and brought her hand forward and pressed her fingers slightly to stop the blood. Feeling the pressure she hissed in pain and clutched his other hand making him smile at her act.
He take out his hanky from the pocket and tied it to her finger. After he done he looked up at her and his smile widened seeing her with her eyes closed
"Ab aap aankhain khol sakti hain" She quickly opened her eyes at his voice and pulled her hand
"Th …. Thanks" She was still looking down at her feet
"If I am not wrong toh tum Khushi ho … Shashi Uncle ki choti baiti" She just nodded her head in reply
"Nice to meet you Khushi" He said pulling her cheeks softly leaving her stunned at his action while he could not controlling anymore broke in to laughter at her reaction. She was staring him with her eyes wide open, her mouth forming a perfect O shape
"You know Khushi you are very cute" He again pulled her cheeks while she now felt embarrassed and her cheeks turned red
"Babu Jee aaien ge toh main bata doon gi ke aap aaye the" So it was an indication he can go now
"No I can wait for uncle" He was still trying hard to not laugh again
"Theek hai aap Babu Jee ka wait kijiye …. Main ja rahi hoon, mujhe bohat kaam hain" Saying it she quickly left from there while he was still smiling as he watched her going away
That was his first meeting with her and he found her innocent and cute. He has came back from abroad because of his father's sudden death and now he was looking after his business with Shashi Gupta.

She opened her eyes brushing off the old memories from her head and changing into her night dress she came out. She found the empty bed and she looked at recliner. He was sleeping there. She sighed thinking that now maybe she has to spend her whole life like this. Setting the pillow she lay down soon to fell asleep because of the tiredness.
