Chapter 8:

He laid on his bed looking up when his cell rang. Khushi was written on the display. With a smile on his face he extended his arm to pick up the phone. But wait...why should he pick up her call when she didn't responded on his calls and messages. She exclaims him her friend? Does someone do this to their friends?

He took his arm back and ignored the phone ringing. No, he's not going to pick it up at any cost.

Khushi made a face when he didn't pick any of her call. She apologized to him through messages but didn't got any reply. So after being fed up she finally dialed Lavanya's number.

"What is, Khushi..." Lavanya spoke sleepy but was interrupted by Khushi.

"La please, help me. Arnav is very angry at me." She uttered in tension before giving her a chance to speak. "I was busy cooking and didn't notice his calls. But now I called him many times, he isn't picking my calls and even not..."

"Khushi, stop now! Will you please let me speak." Lavanya cut her now coming out of her sleep and sitting up. Khushi then shut up.

"Good. Now take a deep breath and then talk."

"Arnav is very angry at me. I don't know what I should do. He isn't answering my calls and doesn't even replying to my messages. La, I am really sorry but what can I do to woo him?"

"Khushi, have a look on the clock. It's midnight. May be he's sleeping." She tried to confront her.

"But I'm calling him for more than 4 hours now. He even cut my call once. He is doing it purposely." She pouted.

"But Khushi..." Lavanya widened her eyes at sudden and a mischievous smile curved her face. "But why are you caring so much? You are just friends or am I wrong?" She giggled.

"La please, don't tease me! I'm serious."

"Okay, okay. I don't know what, let's just wait You can convince him tomorrow at college."

"What if he doesn't talk to me there also? What if he ignores me?"

"Okay, don't need to worry. Did you ever heard that saying, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach? Cook him something special and I am damn sure, he'll forget everything."

"But what do you think he likes? What is favorite food?"

"Well, I don't know. But may be NK knows it. You should call him and ask about that."

"Okay. I will. Erm..I don't know his number. And, I don't talk to him much. Could we pls have conference call😳?" Lanodded in agreement & called NK.

*RING RING*

NK: "Hello?" He was sleeping and asking himself who was calling him at middle in the night.

Khushi: "Hi NK, Khushi & La here." She calmly replied clearing her throat.

NK: "Khushi...?" He muttered in half sleep. "Why did you call at this time? Is everything alright?"

Khushi: "Erm...ya I'I called you to ask about something?" She hesitated and bit her lower lip.

NK: "And..." He told her to continue.

Khushi: "Can you please tell me but Arnav's favorite food?"

NK rubbed his eyes with his other hand and struggled to come out of his sleepy state. "What?"

He was a little surprised and confused. She is calling him at midnight to ask about Arnav's favourite food. He took his to time to go through the question and trying to understand her But he gave up and finally asked her. "Why are you asking about his favorite food...that too at midnight?"

She felt odd at his question and thought about the whole scenario now. She disturbed Lavanya and NK just because her friend was not picking up her call. That is not done! She made her mind of letting it now. She can talk to him tomorrow.

"I'm sorry, I bothered you at this time. I'm extremely sorry. Just leave it. We can talk tomorrow." She was just about to hang up when she heard NK's voice in the phone and stopped.

"Hey, never mind. I was just wondering about' but whatever." He understood that she felt bad and didn't want to be unkind.

He told her about his likes and Khushi spent about an hour on Internet finding out the recipes for the dish.

Next day she stood up very early, before Amma and Daadi and cooked his favorite dish for him. She was very excited. How will he react? Will he eat it? Of course, this is his favorite dish, he won't be able to resist. But...will it taste him? What if they taste bad? He will think she can't do anything. These negativities were set up in her mind. For the first time she was thinking about someone not liking her cooking.

Thinking this, she put another vessel on stove & there began the jalebi session!😆
