Khushi could feel his brown eyes locked into hers. The depth of his eyes, trying to reveal all the thoughts going on her mind at the very moment. She felt hypnotised. Her hands started shaking and he held the tray firmly. He wispered in low husky voice, "Why are you so nervous?"
She could only blink her eyes quickly in response.
Arnav looked at her with amused expression. Just flickering eyelids instead of answering a question seems like common thing between two sisters, Arnav wondered. He knew that even Payal does the same. All memories flashed across his mind from where it all started.
~ Start of flashback ~
Payal Gupta had joined AR Group around 4 years back as an assistant to support her family and Khushi's education. She was sincere and dedicated towards her work. She was quick learner. She would analyse each problem thouroughly and then tackle it. She would give creative ideas for fashion show arrangement as well. Seeing her work, Aranv had promoted her and she started working under Akash.
Arnav was kind of person who would keep track of his deserving employees and giving them guidance for their career development. One day, he set up meeting with Payal. Payal got really worried as this was the first time she would be meeting Arnav Singh Raizada face to face for complete one hour. And she knew that it was not going to be easy. She was nervous.
She reached his cabin and knocked softly, "May I come in Sir?"
"Yes, come in", She heard him speak.
She entered the cabin.
"Sit down", Arnav said. Payal was bit shocked seeing Akash too in Arnav's cabin, but she didn't meet his eyes.
"Well Payal, Hmm.. Actually I wanted to discuss something important. I was really impressed with your work and hence I had promoted you. But..", Arnav waited watching her expressions.
what does he mean by he was impressed with my work.. so isn't impressed now? Payal thought.
"But I guess.. few months after your promotion, may be something happened. You are not meeting my expectations. Is there something bothering you in your work? Please tell me.", Arnav asked with concern evident in his voice.
"Sir, everything is fine. There is no problem, but I assure you that I will try my level best to meet all your expectations. I promise.", Payal said all in one breath.
"Payal, why are you getting so nervous? I am not going to fire you right away.", Arnav said.
Huh? What exactly does that mean? Payal was confused like hell. Payal could only blink her eyes quickly in response.
"Bhai.. She is very good in her work and is meeting expectations, I am sorry, but I am not getting your concern.", Akash couldn't stop himself from defending Payal.
Arnav looked at Akash and raised an eyebrow. 😆
"No Akash, I am sure that she not meeting my expectations. She knows all the office policies and she is not abiding to them."
"Payal, I am sure you know that, you should not have any romanctic relationship with your direct reportee. Firm doesn't allow this as it may lead to favoritism.", Arnav tried hard to keep his face straight as his words sinked in. 😉 😛
Payal jumped out of her seat. Akash too stood up.
"Come on guys, get married. I know you both are in love. Do tell me if you need my help.", Anav said smiling at both of them. 😛
"Bhai.. you had scared me.", Akash hugged Arnav. Arnav could see happiness and gratefulness in Payal's eyes. 😊
It was not easy to convince family. As Nani wanted Arnav to get married first and Mami wanted bahu from rich family. But Arnav convinced Nani that he was not ready for marriage at that moment, but he would get married in one or two years, but he didn't want to stop Payal and Akash's marriage till then. He convinced Mamiji too.
And then he saw Khushi on the day of Mehendi as for Roka ceremony he couldn't manage to go to Gupta house. She was looking beautiful. But he never had any conversation with her.
Arnav got fond of Payal as his Bhabhi and he planned to flirt Payal to tease Akash. He brought his guitar and Shyam (Anjali's Husband - He is good guy in this story 😛 ) was on keyboard. Arnav announced, "This song is dedicated to my Sweetheart Payal.." He could feel Akash's gaze on him. 😉
"From my bro Akash", Arnav added after a pause. 😆
Arnav sung..

Khushi couldn't stop herself from joing as it was one of her favorite songs. She sung next lines as if expressing Payal's feelings for Akash..

After the song ended, everyone cheered. Khushi and Arnav wondered how they synchronised with each other so nicely without actually making any efforts. 😛 😳

Arnav came back to present as all were asking him if he would like to talk to Khushi in private.
"Yes", He said instantly.
