When Love Beckons

PROLOGUE

Khushi kumari gupta had never felt so scared before in her life. she was standing in front of the beast's mansion, the same beast who had made it impossible for her father to get treatment done in the whole city of lucknow.Tears rolled down her cheeks when she thought about her father who was lying helpless in bed and her amma who had taken care of her ever since she had been eight yrs old and orphaned in an accident.she took a deep breath and wiped her tears before she entered the mansion, Khushi had made her decision she was ready to give Arnav Singh Raizada what he wanted.

Arnav Singh Raizada looked at the angel standing at his doorstep and hated the tears in her eyes especially when he knew that he was the reason behind those tears.He had first seen her in delhi in laxmi nagar when he had taken his car to Happy Singh's garage. She had come out in a red chiffon saree and had been running away from a fat old lady with long braids who later turned out to be her buaji and bumped into him in her hurry to escape, at that moment Arnav Singh Raizada's world had stood at a standstill and he was totally lost in her.Next day Khushi Kumari Gupta's personal details lay on his desk thanks to his efficient P.A. Aman Mathur.

Shashi was suffering from chronic heart disease which required immediate Bypass surgery.He knew that a girl like khushi would never agree to stay with him and therefore had used her father's treatment to make her agree to his proposal.So, just as he had expected Khushi Kumari Gupta was standing before him and he knew, what her answer was going to be even before she said it. Khushi looked at the man standing before her with unmistakable hatred and said "I am ready to be your mistress". Arnav broke the wine glass in his hands in anger and pulled her by the shoulders " who said anything about being a mistress I just want you stay with me ".Khushi looked at him shocked and confused at him when he had asked her to stay with him she had automatically assumed what his intentions were, if he din't want her to be his mistress then what did he want?

"your father has already been admitted in the Life Care hospital and you can be assured that he will be given the best ever treatment available BUT DON'T YOU DARE REPEAT what you just said minutes ago again, UNDERSTAND" he Yelled and shook her violently. Khushi could'nt take it anymore it had been a bad day for her already and here she was being manhandled by the beast who had changed her life altogether in a matter of few days.She felt dizzy "Khushi" his scared voice whispered as she fainted in his arms,the last thing she saw before everything went black where his concerned brown eyes.

I Have written the character introduction below:

Arnav Singh Raizada: He is 28 yrs old ,ruthless, arrogant and win at all costs man.He stays alone at sheesh mahal while his family stays in delhi.He has a dark past which has made him what he is.

Khushi Kumari Gupta: She is 20 yrs old and studying final year english literature.Her character is also the same as in the show but her relationship with Buaji is a bit cracked.

Raizada's : They all live in delhi and yes even here Arnav shares the same relationship with Anjali but she is not married to shyam in this fic but to another business man Ranvir Vadhera.

Gupta's: garima and shashi adopted Khushi when she was eight yrs old and have loved her like their own daughter. They even took the decision to not have anyother kid except Khushi, Buaji hates Khushi for this decision of her brother.

P.S.: Payal is not Khushi's sister but just Akash's wife in this fic

CHAPTER-1

Arnav carried Khushi up in his arms, he placed her on a magnificient four poster bed.He realized that her fists were around his shirt, preventing him from leaving her side. He looked at her innocent face, she seemed to be at peace this way. He left the room resisting the urge to sleep beside her.

Khushi woke up to an alien surrounding next morning. She was sleeping on a magnificient four poster bed and everything around her spelt grandeur. She felt like a pampered princess but strangely unhappy, that's when she remembered the previous night's conversation with the beast and realized with bitterness that she was not a pampered princess but a pampered prisoner. A lump formed in her throat as she thought about her Amma and Babuji, in all these 12yrs she had never been away from them. she wondered how her father's treatment was going on.

She once again remembered everything that had happened last night.She felt confused, when he had demanded that he should stay with her she had clearly assumed that he wanted her to be his mistress but he made it clear that he only wanted her to stay with him. But why? she remembered the concern she saw in his eyes.

"Are you dressed, I hope you are not in any compromising situation because I am coming in".She looked up to see him enter with a breakfast tray.

"why ask a question when you don't want an answer" spat Khushi.He placed the break fast tray in front of her. "eat".He ordered. Khushi just turned her face away in anger.

"I am not a very patient man Khushi,so you better eat now before I shove this down your throat,NOW." Khushi's eyes widened at the thought of him force feeding her, she looked at his angry face once and realized that he was capable of doing it. Khushi grimaced as she saw some plain colourless,tasteless pasta in her plate.Nevertheless she ate it. He watched her as she ate,Khushi realized that he was still watching her and felt nervous.

"Hari Prakash" he yelled. A nervous looking servant came inside."Take her plate away". H.P took her plate away and left.There was a pregnant silence after H.P.'s exit with Arnav staring at Khushi and she in turn determinedly looked everywhere but him.

"what do you want from me" asked Khushi finally.

" I want you in my bed"Said Arnav.

Khushi's eyes widened in shock as her heart started racing.

"But...You...Last Night...You..." Khushi splattered her mouth failing her for once.

"Relax,I will not Make you do anything against your will, EXCEPT make you stay with me" Said Arnav.

" if you think that I'll willingly sleep with you then forget it Mr.Raizada" Said Khushi angrily.

"we will see about it "was his only reply.she looked up and noticed that he was smirking at her.Infuriating Beast thought Khushi.

"anyway Khushi you are not allowed to leave the Mansion without my Permission." said Arnav, which Khushi very well understood to mean that "without me" was actually what he was saying. Khushi nodded and Arnav turned to leave.

"How long do you want me to stay with you" Khushi asked resignedly. He paused near the door for a second as if deciding whether to answer her question or not.

"forever" he replied before shutting the door after him.

PRECAP: Arnav takes Khushi to meet her parents in the hospital.

Chapter-2

Khushi resigned herself to the fact that the Beast was not going to let go of her,she thought about her home and her parents,she missed them terribly but did she want to go back especially after all the terrible words Buaji had said to her. Yes of course she had to be there for her parents who had made her the centre of their World.Slowly Khushi got up and walked towards the wardrobe and her mouth formed a perfect "O" as she looked at it.The closet was full of desinger Indian wear and if Khushi had been an avid fashionista she would have recognised many big names like Satya paul and Ritu kumar. She picked out a elegant white anarkhali and went to get ready.

On the other hand, for the first time ever Arnav Singh Raizada was not able to concentrate on his work as his mind was still lost in the thoughts of a certain Doe-eyed girl.He took out a Pom-pom from his pocket and "Khushi" he whispered to nobody in particular.

Bored to death Khushi had decided to explore the Huge house.After a couple of hours Khushi discovered that the more she walked the more the rooms in the house seemed to multiply so finally she came to a halt at the Library. Khushi being a literature student loved books so it was a visual treat for her. Khushi Soon helped herself to one of her favourite novels "Pride and Prejudice" and settled down on a chair.

Arnav became restless in his office and decided to go back home soon.He asked his P.A. Aman to get him the best ever made Jalebis in town.Though Aman did not understand why his diabetic boss wanted jalebis he did as he was told.Arnav hurried inside as soon he reached home.He decided to announce his arrival as he did not want to startle her .

Arnav: Hari Prakash

H.P.: yes sir

Arnav: where is Khushi?

H.P: Mam was here only sir but...

Before he could complete his sentence Arnav took hold of his collar and was breathing down on his neck like an angry dragon.

Arnav: what do you mean she WAS here only...Search Dammit now...

H.P. rushed off to follow his orders.

Arnav felt insane anger take over him as it usually does when things don't go the way he wants.He noticed that the back door was open, he tightened his fist and once again went out in search of the girl who had dared defy him. After searching for hours Arnav decided to go back he knew what he had to do in order to bring her back.

Khushi had been peacefully reading "pride and Prejudice" that she did not realize when she had fallen asleep.When she finally woke up she was surrounded by darkeness, fear engulfed her.Arnav entered the house only to find that everything was dark.He heard a distant voice coming from the direction of the library.

Khushi: Is somebody here? Arnav ji, Hariprakash ji somebody please help.

just then the library door creaked open and Khushi saw a figure standing there,she was only able to see his eyes in the now dimlight coming through the open door.she saw the same concerened brown eyes staring at her. Overwhelmed,Khushi ran and hugged him.

Hints: Ok this story is based on my favourite favourite tale "Beauty and the Beast".

"The beast imprisons beauty and the unxpected happens where unlikely friendship leads to an even more unlikely Love."

1)Khushi has not yet fallen in love with Arnav yet.

2)Arnav is still an Engima to Khushi. The concerned brown eyes of Arnav are going to keep Khushi from judging Arnav Hastily.

3)Both Arnav and Khushi have pasts.(not connected to each other)

Also I am going to introduce a new character few chapters later.

Pls forgive me if you find this chapter boring I know it lacks details and has very little of Arshi but I promise the future updates will be more longer and Only Arshi.
