CHAPTER 2

*Locker Room*

Looking at Rey and Swayam at each other's throat Vicky shouted, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?"

He leaped forward to break the fight while jostling Taanis arm which brought her back from stupor. Taani realized where she was and as the only girl in the room she started to feel self-conscious and embarrassed. She tried to find a way out when her eyes fell upon HIM. He was here and she couldn't seem to look anywhere else but at him.

Rey being an ultimate playboy couldn't let this golden chance of having a little fun with the girl go away. He jerked his arm from Vicky's grasp and giving a final push to Swayam he walked towards her all the while thinking how extremely beautiful she was. Her truculent skin shadowed by the blush caused by her embarrassment made her look all the more cute and vulnerable in a room where she was surrounded by boys.

She seemed to be looking over his shoulder trying to ignore him and a thought finally pops into Reys head, "Attitude han?"

Rey walks in a circle around her when he finally stops in front of her, forcing her to meet his gaze.

"Do you believe in love at first sight? Or should I walk by again?" Rey says in a cocky manner completely diverting Taanis attention towards him.

Taani couldn't get past with what she had just heard as no one has EVER talked to her in such a manner. She gathered up her courage and said confidently, "Excuse me?-"

Before Taani could finish giving him a set down Rey intruded, "You are certainly excused Miss Sunshine."

His eyes roaming over her body taking in her short yellow dress, her unbound brown curly locks, her rosy lips and perfectly sculpted nose before meeting her hazel brown eyes that emanated warmth.

Taani did not like the way he looked her over making her feel uncomfortably hot.

This was the last straw. She let her temper fly, "What are you, trying to hit on me? Who do you think you are-"

Rey in utter shock tried to interrupt when Taanis hand goes up halting him in his tirade.

"No! No. Girls with asses like mine don't talk to boys with faces like yours!" Taani blurted out forcefully.

Vicky hooted with laughter and everyone followed suit. It took her a few seconds to realize what she had said her eyes widening in fear as Rey took a step towards her pining her to the wall.

Before Rey could give her a proper tongue lashing he was yanked back with force and a fist rose to meet him. The force was enough to send him crashing into the ground. Rey looked up to see Swayam standing over him.

Swayam crouches down to Reys level, his face contorted with fury as he viciously spat, "Stay away from MY girl."

Swayam grabbed Taanis hand and together hand in hand they walked out of the room. Taani looked back at the fading image of Rey who was still lying on the ground clutching his bleeding nose, she shook her head and turned around.

*Football ground at the bleachers*

Swayam seats Taani and sits down besides her all the while holding her hand. However, Taani refused to acknowledge or even look at Swayam.

Swayam confusedly asks, "What happened? Are you okay? Is it because what happened in the locker room?"

Taani instantly responds, "Tum meri help nahi kar sakte thai? Do you have the slightest idea of how embarrassed I was? You didn't even do anything when that skirt-chaser was flirting with me."

Swayam burst out laughing and said, "And ruin your fun?"

Taani just gave a humph and looked away.

Swayam realized that she is seriously upset over his lack of effort to help her before the situation escalated. He turned her face gently, cupping it into his hands and said, "I didn't do anything because I know you, how strong and tough you are, how you can take care of yourself. After all you are MY Taani" as he leans his head against hers.


*Cheerleaders practicing in the ground*

Sharon takes a break from her practice and turns around to grab a bottle of water. She looks up and sees Swayam cupping a girl's face whispering sweet nothings to her. The sight of the two of them amuses at the same time shocks her.

"Einstein ki bhi girlfriend hai! Daaayyuummm! I so need a boyfriend." Sharon says turning around and promising herself to look over the crop of boys at college when she spots Simmi running towards her.

"OMG! Did you see the video?" Simmi asked Sharon hysterically.

"What video? Why am I the last to know?" Sharon said thinking it must be something really important for Simmi to be acting this weirdly.

Simmi takes out her phone and played the video. Sharon watched in silence at what had happened in the boy's locker room shocked to her core.

"How dare he! How dare he, talk to my brother like that? Who the hell does he think he is? Where the hell is this Swayam Shikhawat?" Sharon shouts in rage.

Sharon and Simmi turn around to look at the two love birds. Simmi suggests going over there and settling the score when Sharon suddenly stops her and says, "You know what let it be I have a better plan" a grin playing at her lips, "and waisai bhi right now I have to make sure if Rey is alright."


*Back on the bleachers*

Swayam tries to lighten the mood and says, "So how are you liking the college so far?"

Taani gives a short laugh, "Well, it certainly has been entertaining. So tell me what that skirt-chaser's (Rey) deal is?"

Swayam laughing at the name Taani had given to Rey and said, "Is that what you are going to call him now? Well it suits him, that's exactly who he is. You know just stay away from him and his group. They can be a real piece of work. Why are we even talking about them? Let's talk about something else so tell me how are you? I can't believe you are here, sitting right next to me."

Taani saw him tensed so she decided not to interrogate him any further on the topic although she was intrigued by it.

"I cannot believe it either." Taani said giving Swayams hand an affectionate squeeze. "Oh and I already found a place to live. I thought it'd take me forever." She added as an afterthought.

"Well that's nice. How did you find yourself a place that quickly?" Swayam asked.

Taani takes out the flyer and hands it over to Swayam. "This how I found myself a place. And Vicky seems like a really nice guy and besides we hit it off really well."

"Wait! What? You are moving in with Vicky, Nilesh, Simmi and Rinni? What were you thinking? They are not nice people." Swayam said as he crumbled the flyer in his fist.

"How bad can they be? I mean come on. I really do need a place to stay and besides the rents cheap and it's not like I have any other option. I mean I can't stay with you!" She blurted before she could stop herself.

Swayams face transforms into a huge grin as he scoots a little closer to Taani saying, "You seriously thought about that?"

Taani blushed refusing to look him in the eye; she jumped and said, "I have to go I have a class. I'll text you. Bye!"


*In the corridor*

Taani walked down the corridor furiously blushing and lost in thought over what had just happened when somebody gently tugs at her hair from behind. Taani turns around in confusion and comes face to face with a disappointed Vicky.

"I know exactly the reason why your face matches with the colour of my boxers. Wanna see?" Without waiting for a reply he pulls up his shirt revealing the red boxers.

"Ahhh'okay" Taani says awkwardly.

"It is because you were with your boyfriend weren't you? When exactly were you going to mention that you were in a relationship with Einstein? I thought we were best friend's man." Vicky says shaking his head disappointingly.

Taani blushed some more and played along with a line fed by Vicky, "You seem a little too disappointed. It makes me wonder if you have a thing for Swayam! I don't mind sharing." Taani grinned mischievously.

Vicky clutches his heart and gasps, "How did you know that I am gay? Can you read minds? Oh wait I know that you read my pink diary. It's not funny, it's not."

Taani burst out laughing as Vicky smiled at the sight in front of him and said a bit disappointingly, "Sooo I guess you won't be moving in with us because of what happened earlier. I really did wanted to get to know you better, honestly speaking you are far more interesting than people in this college."
