Part 45:
Arnav: Scared? Of what?
Khushi: Your grandmother.. Who else.. I heard from Nani that she is quite strict.
Arnav: Well she is.. But who cares.. We arent going there.. We are not meeting her..
He said that and left out. Finally the Gupta family sat at the back seat and Khushi sat with Arnav ahead. The journey to Lucknow started. Khushi was busy eating inside the car, Arnav was all silent. Khushi's father and mother were chatting among themselves and buaji was fast asleep.
Khushi: Amma.. I didnt ask how is Mohit..? Is he still in Lucknow?
Garima: Yes Bitiya.. He works in Lucknow..
Arnav was confused.. She was asking about a guy?
Arnav: Who's Mohit? ?(He asked looking at KHushi)
Khushi: My Friend.. We are neighbours in Lucknow.. We studied together in Lucknow..
Arnav: Okay.. (He actually didnt like to hear about Mohit.. But then he didnt take it lightly untill she uttered her next sentance)
Khushi: Amma.. You remember how me and Mohit used to play at our homes with my Doll. He was such a caring husband..
Arnav : What The..!! You used to play with him all these House games? I mean he used to be your husband? Dont tell me!!
Khushi: Yes.. So what? We were just 15 then.. And not just that , he always used to tell my mother that when we grow up, he will marry me..
Shashi and Garima were trying to ask Khushi to stop her foolish talks but she continued ignoring them.
Khushi: And know what..!! Before I came to Delhi, he was so nervous that I was leaving.. I told him I would keep coming to Lucknow.. But after I came here, nothing happened.. I got married to you and this is the first time I am going there after getting married.
She bit another bite of her Jalebi and Arnav was totally frustrated.. She was telling him all this so casually..
Garima: But Arnav Bitwa.. Khushi is so lucky to get you in her life.. I mean she is so naive and yet you chose her for being your life partner.. Khushi.. You must be proud of your husband.
Khushi remebered her last weeks with him. He did nothing for her to make her feel proud. He flirted with her on their first meet, he bribed the bank people for the Loan on their shop to be closed, he made her sign the Mistress Contract, then tried being physical with her many times, and when that didnt seam to work , he married her to make her his forever..
She stopped eating and didnt even reply to what her mother said.. She turned the other side and closed her eyes.. Arnav knew what she was thinking.. She was remembering their past.. But cant she see how he changed for her after their marriage? Did he anytime force her again for anything? He fulfilled her every single wish.. Then why the hell was she still ignoring him when the matter came of sharing some intimacy? He tried to ease himself not wanting to think anything further about those things at this moment..
The journey was long.. They halted for Dinner at night at a good restaurant.. Buaji and Khushi walked ahead together trying to reserve a table for them and Khushi's parents waited for Arnav to park his Car and then they 3 walked together..
Shashi: Arnav .. Just dont mind what Khushi told you about Mohit.. She is just crazy sometimes..
Garima: Yes Bitwa.. She was attached to Mohit and his friendship before till they were young but then you know everything changes.
Arnav smiled and then moved inside.. Surely he wasnt going to ignore this topic.. He would never do that..
Khushi and Arnav sat opposite to each other. The Dinner was served and they all started having..
Shashi: Arnav Bitwa it would have been good if you both would have stayed with us in our house..
Khushi stopped eating and looked at her Dad..
Khushi: Ofcourse we are staying with you Babuji..
Arnav: No.. We are not Khushi..!!
Khushi: But why? I told you I need to help Amma with the packing .. Then?
Arnav: We are staying in the Hotel but we will come to meet them every day so that you can help them.. Ok?
Khushi: Why would we stay in a Hotel when I have a home there..
Arnav looked at her angrily and Garima pinched Khushi to make her stop talking..
Garima whispered in Khushi's ears..
Garima: Enough Khushi.. Why are you irritating him so much.. Just be quiet
Khushi: But Amma.,.
Shashi: Khushi.. He is right.. And well you both are here also for your Honeymoon.. So..
Khushi: That doesnt mean we need to stay in a Hotel. We can celeberate our honeymoon in our house too?
Arnav stopped eating now and kept his spoon down..
Arnav: Really Khushi? We can do that in your home too? You sure?
Garima, Shashi and Buaji were about to burst laughing seeing their funny moments.. How innocent their daughter was.. And how eager their Son in law was for all this..
Khushi: No.. I.. I mean we ..
Arnav: What I said is final.. We are staying in a Hotel
Khushi made an angry face and started eating hurridly and all silently not wanting to talk to anyone.. She wasnt happy..
They finished their food and then Arnav paid the bill. She rushed inside the Car and sat at the backseat with her mother and Buaji.. Shashi: Khushi.. Why are you here.. Sit ahead..
Khushi: I wont.. You sit Babuji.. I wanna sleep on Amma's Shoulder.
Buaji: He will be angry again Sanka Devi..
Khushi: Thats ok.. He wont be.. And he needs to drive.. Nothing else..
Arnav came there and saw her sitting behind. He was totally irritated by this now.. She was acting like a Kid when she was with her family.. Gosh!!
He didnt say anything.. He started the Car and Shashi sat with Arnav.. They drove.. He started giving small glances at her in between and she knew that.. Even Buaji and Garima had noticed it and they were blushing.. Buaji whispered in Khsuhi's ears.
Buaji: I truely pity him Sanka Devi.. You shouldnt be so arrogant..
Khushi: After everything he did to me before.. I am making him pay for all that..
Buaji: Enough Khushi.. He is truely changed now.. You know it more than us..
Khushi: I know.. I would surely forget all that one day.. But not now.. I still dont get that comfortable with him sometimes.. I need to learn a lot yet.. Only after that I would accept him fully.. Not before that.
Buaji made an angry face but she kissed her Buaji's cheeks and slept on her shoulder..

After a long drive, finally they reached Lucknow.. It was late night.. Almost 02:00am..Khushi was sleeping.. Shashi showed him the way to their house and he parked his Car..
Khushi got up.
Khushi: We reached?
Garima: Yes.. We have taken our bags.. See you both tomorrow for Lunch.. Ok?
Khsuhi: Amma.. I want to come now.. (She said making a sad face and Arnav heard that..)
Arnav: Khsuhi.. Get in the car.. Now.. We will come tomorrow..
He didnt care what she wanted currently.. He only feared if they stay there, he would surely kill that Mohit if he anytimes meet her again..
She sat inside and bid bye to her family and he drove towards the Hotel.
