CHALO BUSINESS BUSINESS KHELE DAY 1 PART 3

"Aaj to Laad Governor ne hadh hi kar di! Pata nahi hume pareshaan dekhkar kya maza aata hai unhe! Raakshash pravratti ke hai bilkul! (Today laad governor crossed all his limits! I don't get what pleasure he derives by troubling me! He is a devil in disguise!)" Khushi shared her annoyance with the plate of jalebies in her hand as she walked into her room. Khushi was about to sit on her bed when-

Ding Dong.

"Are o titaliya?! Dekho to kaun aaya hai? (Look who's there?)" came in Buaji's loud voice.

Khushi looked at the jalebies in her hand; an annoyed expression masking her face. "Raat ko dus baje pata nahi kis nishachar ko kaam hai?!(God knows which evil creature of the night needs help at 10 pm?!)" She huffed keeping the plate full her favorite sweets on the bed.

Ding Dong. The bell rang again.

"Aa rahe hai!(coming!)" Khushi cried out. "Din mein Laad Governor aur raat ko- (Laad governor troubles me in day time, and now at night this-)

"bhi Laad Governor? (Laad Governor's back?)" Arnav completed the statement wearing his patent smirk as Khushi opened the door; amused by his wife's antics. Khushi gaped at the Arnav.

"Aap? (You?)" she asked.

"Nai' Preeto' (No' Preeto')" he completed in a fake show of annoyance. "Ab hato! (Now move!)"

"Nahi!(No!)" Khushi said further blocking the door. Arnav rolled his eyes.

"Kaun hai Nandkishore?(who's there?)" Buaji came to Arnav's rescue; not that he actually needed any.

"Are Arnav babua? Hato sankadevi! Poori raat bahar Khada rakhogi kya? (Arnav babua? Move Sankadevi! Do you plan to keep him out all night?)"

Khushi had no option but to move. Arnav bounced his eyebrows mischievously as she glared at him.

"Vo buaji, maine socha aaj mai yahi reh jaata hu' I hope you don't mind? (Actually buaji, I thought today I'll spend the night here' I hope you don't mind?)"

"Are nahi nahi babua' Khana'(Oh' not all' dinner')" Buaji trailed off.

"Oh no Buaji' mai ghar se abhi khakar aa raha hu' I'll just' (Oh no buaji' I just ate' I'll just')" Arnav pointed to the room.

"Haan tum aaram kar lo (Ok then' you take rest')" she said taking her cue.

Arnav shot Khushi a smug look and went to their room. Khushi followed; annoyance taking a different meaning all together. She shut the doors once in the room.

"Aap yaha kya kar rahe hai? Ye bhi aapke contract ka part hai kya?(What are you doing here? Is this also a part of your contract?)" she asked.

"Zarurat kya hai? This is my house! (whats the need? This is my house!)" He replied, and then added in a softer huskier voice holding her gaze "Damad hu mai iss ghar ka' Husband hu tumhara' (I'm am a son-in-law of this house' Your husband')"

Khushi dropped her gaze. She didn't know why he was saying this. Why even bother coming here? Its all going to be over in about 11 days.

Khushi picked up the plate of jalebies from her bed and went to the window to eat it; aware of Arnav's eyes staring intently at her.

"How rude? Akele Akele' (How rude? You are having sweets all alone?)" Arnav pointed out pulling up a frown on his face.

"Isme' sugar hai' (This' has sugar')" Khushi answered. Since when has Arnavji taken interest in jalebies?

"Okay' to jaake mere liye sugar free jalebies banao' (Okay' so go and make some sugar free jalebies for me')" Arnav stated as if it was pretty obvious.

"Kya? (What?)" Khushi asked totally surprised. Arnav Singh Raizada felt like having jalebies out of the blue?

"Khushi' mere' liye' sugar' free' jalebies'ba- (Khushi' go' and' make' so-)"

"Humne pehli baar mein hi sun liya tha! (I heard you the first time!)" Khushi cried out aggravated by his trying to explain as if she was a dunderhead.

"So, get going!" Arnav replied.

"Ye humara ghar hai, aapka office nahi! Yaha aap hume order nahi kar sakte! (This is my house, not your office! You can't order me here!)" Khushi retorted.

Arnav lips twitched in amusement.

"Try me' I want to have jalebies' aur agar tum mere kehne pe nahi banaogi to buaji ke kehne pe bana dena' (Try me' I want to have jalebies' and if you won't make them on my words' you'll definitely make them on buaji's')" he said walking towards the door.

"Fine!" Khushi agreed despite herself. How could she get Buaji involved in all this madness?

Arnav smirked opening the door for her. If it hadn't been for the situation Khushi would have appreciated his gentlemanly gesture. But not now.

"Governasur!" she murmered under her breath while getting out.

"Kya? (What?)" Arnav asked.

Khushi didn't bother answering. She went to the kitchen. Arnav followed her.

"Aap humaare sir pe khade rahenge? (You'll keep standing on my head?)" she asked.

"I have to make sure you don't poison my jalebies." Arnav replied with a poker face.

Khushi huffed and started with her work. Arnav cleared the area beside the gas, and sat on the slab. He watched her intently.

With every passing second Khushi was getting more and more self-conscious. Though she was trying very hard to pay no attention to the fact that the only thing Arnav was doing was look at her; but the tingles his gaze sent through her body were not something she could easily ignore. But she carried on with her work never the less; although her eyes automatically sought him from their corners.

When she was finally done with the batter and was about to fry the sweets into twisted structures Arnav jumped down. Khushi turned to see him walking behind her.

"Show me how you do this'" Arnav said in his low husky voice.

"Jee?" she asked finally committing the mistake of getting lost in his honey brown orbs.

Arnav turned her around. He wrapped his arms around her waist (Rabba Vey!) and picked up the cloth she had filled with the batter. He then placed it in her hands; covering them with his own.

"Come on'" he whispered into her ears.

Khushi's hands started working on their own accord because her brain had gone numb. She could hear the familiar Dhak Dhak of her heart as her lungs struggled to do their work. She could feel his warm breaths on her bare neck, which invigorated all her cells.

Arnav too heard Khushi's heartbeats. His took a similar pace. This proximity with Khushi left him heady too. After they were done making the structures, Arnav turned her back to face him. He tipped her chin up with his finger. His face neared hers.

"Khushi'" he said in a whisper.

Khushi slow breathing stopped. He neared her further.

"Khushi'" he was just an inch from her face. "Breathe'" he said in a voice that made her want to melt like chocolate in the sun. And then he backed off. It took a lot of will power but he did nevertheless. He didn't want to do anything unless Khushi accepted him back as a husband; unless she understood that it was not for eleven days that he was hers and she was his but for life.

"And look at your jalebies' you better not burn them!" His arrogant bossy conceited attitude was back with his patent smirk.

Khushi turned around. What was that?! What does he want?! She repeated to herself as she huffed.

She took out the jalebies, and dipped them in sugar free syrup. Then she placed them on a plate, and offered it to him. He took it gladly and followed Khushi back into her room.

Khushi went back to the window and started munching on her jalebies. Her thoughts running in every direction. What just happened?! One moment he was about to kiss me and another? Why is he doing this? He is all for you are my wife' I am your husband' and then all he does is talk of contracts' marriage contract' and the one he's asked Amanji to make' one moment he says all his bank balance is mine and defending my working as a PA for him' another he talks about my salary?? What am I to him?? A paid Life partner??

Arnav watched his wife looking at the stars; he went and stood beside her.

"You've got to stop doing that'" he said looking at her. She turned to face him.

"What?"

"Bite your lip like that'" he answered. A ghost of a smile apparent on his face.

"Why?" she asked bewildered.

"Nothing" he said shaking his head, his lips framing a full fletched smile.

"We should sleep' we both have to go to work tomorrow." He said. Arnav went back to the bed placing his plate of sweets on the table and switching off the lights. Khushi's eyes followed him bewildered. Arnav lay on his side. Khushi went to take her place. Arnav turned to find Khushi forming a partition with a bed cover.

"Don't bother. It's useless. You never seem to follow your limits while on bed," he answered.

Khushi scowled and formed the partition nevertheless. She lied down on her back and closed her eyes, aware of Arnav still looking at her.

"Good Night." She said willing him to look away. His gaze always seemed to do strange things to her.

"Good Night." he replied closing his eyes.
