The last five minutes seemed to have shaken Arnav to such an extent that he was left with no voice. Disbelief, incomprehension and surprise formed a cocktail of reactions that were utterly visible through his facial expressions. He needed time to grasp whatever he had just heard, but deep down, he was aware of the fact that it was the only solution and the only sure path to reach his goal. Luck was knocking at the door and no way was he going to let go of such a golden opportunity. He just had to say a simple yes and everything would slowly fall into place just like before and maybe even better.

"So should I interpret your silence as a yes, Mr Raizada?" asked Khushi impatiently.

Arnav just nodded to show a positive acknowledgement as he was in no position to talk, ask questions or demand clarifications.

"Good then! So, I want you tomorrow morning sharp at 9:30 am in my cabin to discuss some important matters concerning this deal. We'll be leaving on Saturday, which means we've got only tomorrow to sort every preparation!" told Khushi.

"Hmm this Saturday?" asked Arnav, just taken aback by another round of news that things were moving so fast.

"Yes this Saturday! Would that be any problem to you?" uttered Khushi.

"Nope, not at all" Arnav let out with a faint smile, in an attempt to hide his awkwardness.

The impossible had just happened – Arnav was retaining his job without even lifting his small finger, though he knew that he would need to continue to bend to his boss' demands. At night, Arnav replayed the entire sequence of events that took place during the day and made his mind overwork as to the reason of the deal proposed by Khushi Kumari Gupta. What had pushed her into seeking the help of her assistant, that too of an assistant that she had supposedly fired? An amused look made its appearance on Arnav's face as he murmured to himself:

"So Lady Governess is in trouble! Why didn't this click before? That's the only plausible reason she is giving me another chance! Well, selfish as she is, whatever she is doing must be definitely to her advantage. Office is office, but outside office is different! Khushi Kumari Gupta, it was about time I seek my sweet revenge for the hard time you are making me face. Just see how you will regret proposing me this deal!"

And there he was off to sleep thinking about the next steps he was planning to take while Khushi was still in thoughts of whether she was right.

"Amma, I've finally thought calmly and am coming this Saturday! Love you all! Bye!" Khushi said on her parent's answering machine.

The idea of taking her assistant with her to Lucknow was a spontaneous decision which she deeply thought as the only solution to end talks of her wedding to Aman. She hadn't well thought of the repercussions that her decision could have on her and her family, but for the time being, it was the only possible plan. Already imagining her parents' reactions upon learning that she was bringing along a bogus boyfriend, she buried herself in her cosy bed to find some much needed sleep.

9:29 am …Arnav knocked at Khushi's cabin door and entered, with a completely refreshed mind and a small murmur "The ball is in your court, Arnav"

"I've already finalised our flight tickets! Here is yours! We are leaving early tomorrow morning, so we'll be reaching Lucknow by 8:00 am" Khushi said.

"Ok right, but before taking the ticket, I also need to tell you about my condition"

"What! What condition are you talking of? It's no time to joke!"

"It's not a joke…see it's a deal. As far as I know, a deal should be beneficial to all parties concerned. I do you a favour and you do me one, right? I accept to come to Lucknow and you keep me employed….that's first! Now, if you want me to act and give my best to convince your family that we are truly a couple, it is obvious that I need more incentive"

"That's the limit…how dare you! To hell with your conditions! Do you even know that I can find another person for this task?"

"I don't doubt it, but then, I don't think you'll be able to find one so soon"

Khushi knew that what Arnav said was true – where would she find another person willing to accept her proposition in such a short notice and much against her will, she resigned herself to accept the condition.

"So what do you want? Money?"

"No, you are getting me wrong! I have a dream project which I want you to consider…publish my book! You can take your time…read it, criticise it but please give it a chance!"

"Ok, I'll give it a read but no pressures!"

"I promise."

"Deal then?" Khushi said extending her hand towards Arnav.

"Deal!" Arnav replied shaking Khushi's hand.

After the solid shake of hands which symbolised their pact, Khushi started to acquaint Arnav with each member of her family by showing him a family picture. Her babuji, owner of a big sweet shop in Lucknow; her amma, sweet and caring wife and mother; Payal jiji and Akaash jijaji who also lived in Lucknow, not far away from their house. Arnav instantaneously let out a small smile at the sight of the picture which portrayed the family which he was soon going to meet.

"I'll keep on sharing some details which I consider important for you to know but for the time being, that will be enough!"

"Ok Maam"

"Not Maam….you need to call me Khushi! You are supposedly my boyfriend, so maam will look weird, Mr Raizada!"

"So, it will be Arnav for you! You are supposedly my girlfriend, so Mr Raizada will look weird"

Both Arnav and Khushi shared an uncomfortable glance at each other, as they realised that the boss-assistant status was temporarily changing.
