Yes, I gave in yet again. PLEASE do not ask for more updates .. it makes me feel awful to say no to you all and I really, honestly, truly cannot continue this 😆 Hope you all like this update! A HUGE thank you to all the 215 people who liked my OS and everyone who commented! 🤗 A clarification.. although Arnav and Khushi haven't verbally spoken about the misunderstanding, Arnav now believes, or rather wants to believe Khushi's story about her and Shyam.
A distraught Khushi was led by a limping Arnav to their room knowing that even though he trusted her, he wanted and needed some answers .. which she knew that she would readily give him. She had been pleasantly surprised when he said that he trusted her. His Di meant the world to him, and so for him to choose her, Khushi over his Di must have been a very hard decision. But she was glad that he trusted her. No, she wasn't selfish. She was just a wife who was happy her husband trusted her. She was just a woman who was relieved that the man who she loved, trusted her.
"Khu..Khushi, what was all that about? What was Di saying? You.. you and that Shyam?" He questioned as soon as they entered their room, trying to keep a firm voice but faltering. His past demons were soon catching up with him, as his hold on her arms tightened. He had gotten reassurance from her eyes but he needed the same in words too. From inside, he was still too broken to be able to trust anyone, not even Khushi, without words and she had sensed it. She removed his palms from her arm as she directed him towards the bed, kneeling down in front of him.
"Do you trust me Arnavji?", she asked the same question her eyes had asked his as she sought his answer verbally this time, cupping his face in her small hands.
"Yes", came his prompt reply. He held her left hand that was on his cheek with his right, the pressure on her hand indicating towards his confusion upon the entire situation. "But Di? Why did Di say all that Khushi? She loves you. Why..why did she say all that? Does she.. does she know that you..that you knew him from before? What happened when I wasn't here Khushi. Please tell me the truth."
"I.. Arnavji..I.. what Di said was not entirely wrong."
His hand dropped as he heard that. Khushi? Was.. was his Di right then? No..no. He shook his head to take those thoughts out of his mind, unable to bear them. Khushi's right hand stayed on his cheek while her left found Arnav's right hand, that he had dropped. "Arnavji.. I.. I didn't mean it like that. I.. I had my doubts on Shyam being responsible behind your kidnapping and I had to get close to him to find out about your location. I.. Di caught us on the wrong occasions.. but i.. I don't know why she would think like.. tha..that about me. Arnavji ple..please make her under..stand.. I.. I would ne..ver", she explained as her voice broke by the end as sobs took over. He pulled her towards him in a protective hug, telling her with actions that he was with her. She looked back into his eyes and was ready to divulge further into the story but the shrill voice of Anjali calling them down stopped her.
Meanwhile, Shyam was on mission manipulate Rani Sahiba. Anjali was still in shock. How could chote accuse her husband of something like this? How could he not trust his Di? And Shyam's words certainly did not help her anger.
"Rani Sahiba, don't pay attention to saale saab's words. You know that I love you and only you right? You are my life. But did you see Rani Sahiba? Only Devi Maiyya knows what magic that girl has done on my poor Saale Saab that he blindly trusts her now. That too over you, his sister. I think you should do something about it, otherwise she will turn the entire house against us with her jaadu", he said in his sweet voice.
"Aap theek keh rahe hai. I can't believe that my..my Chote chose that evil bitch over. He has know me all his life.. but. I will.. I will save my chote from her clutches" she promised herself.
"Rani Sahiba I know you want to protect Saale Saab but I don't want you to stay near that woman. Who knows, she may harm our child because I said no to her. You know how girls like her can be don't you?"
"My baby.. I won't let anything happen to it. I will make sure that she is thrown out of Shantivan. Lekin chote, my chote.. he will be devastated when he learns of the real truth. He trusts her so much but she" Anjali ended off with a whisper. "I cannot live with her. I will ask Chote to choose between her and me. I am sure he will choose me. Then we will make him understand the truth won't we? We will find a nice girl for her who will make him forget that bitch."
Shyam hugged her as she cried into his chest, failing to see the evil smirk on his face. Saale Saab may have chosen Khushiji over Rani Sahiba but he would never let Anjali move out of the house. And when Khushiji is thrown out of the house, who will stop her from becoming mine? he thought.
She wiped her tears and called for both of them.
Arnav and Khushi came down, hand in hand. Both Anjali and Shyam hoping and praying that they did not talk. Anjali, not wanting her to manipulate her dear Chote anymore, and Shyam who feared that she may have told him the truth.
"Chote I have made a decision. One of us must leave the house."
"Di.. what are you saying? Please listen to me.. you've got it wrong. Khushi.. it isn't-"
"Bas Chote. Either she stays here or I do. I cannot bear to look at her, let alone live under the same roof. I refuse to."
At that moment both Khushi and Arnav knew that it would be futile to make Anjali understand and thus "you will stay here Di", Arnav said after a while. They would need to warn the family, he thought, only then would they be able to protect his Di from that bas***d.
Anjali smiled at last, "I knew it Chote. I knew that you would"- she began, but was interrupted by Arnav.
"Khushi and I will leave tomorrow morning", he said with the hint of finality. Khushi looked at him in wonder. He was.. he was willing to leave his house, his Di.. for me? Her respect and love for him increased in this one moment. She promised herself then that she would make sure that Di knew the truth.. not for herself but because Arnavji's world without her would be incomplete.
"Chote? You.. you will leave your Di, your house .. for this..this person?", asked a shocked Anjali.
"She happens to be my wife Di, and I would appreciate it if you give her the respect she deserves. We would have left today itself but my wife would want me to get some rest." Anjali opened her mouth to say something but Arnav did not stop talking ' "we will leave before you wake up in the morning so you do not have to see our face", he said in a voice that screamt 'no arguments'.
As he once again led Khushi back to their room, he stopped to look back at his sister and her husband. "I hope both of you are happy now", he said, holding onto Khushi by her shoulders in a protective hold .. promising himself that he will try his best to make his Di realise the truth. Not for him but for his wife, because he now knew how much his Di meant to her. Till then they had each other.. and that was all they wanted. All that they needed. Because they trusted each other.
Hope the update did not spoil the OS. Looking forward to your feedback, as always! Please do comment and like. It motivates me to continue writing :) For PMs on any future work, please buddy only DrishtiPM and not this ID. I won't be accepting any buddy requests on my real ID. For those reading my SS's.. I know I know it's been a long time. I will try and get to writing the next update real soon. I promise.
*note- there is no Payal/NK/Mami etc in this OS because personally I want Arnav to believe her on his own and not because someone else was witness to Khushi's love for him. That is the same reason why I didn't make them talk through it completely before Anjali called them down to say that she won't live in the same house as Khushi. I want Arnav to trust Khushi because his heart trusts her. She shouldn't have to prove that she loves him.. if you get what I mean.
