Chapter 2

I closed my eyes in d lumpy bed, I couldn't get her out of my mind. Her shining black hair, her dark brown eyes, and perfectly sexy lips burned such an image on my brain. I could still see her standing before me. I'd have never met anyone as unique as her. If only I had gotten the chance to feel our fingers entwined.

But why did this strange girl feel so connected to me?? Ring of the death, the most awaited season for me ever since. It comes once in a year in the month of december. It always brings me great pleasure. Was it she dis year??



There was a slight knock on d door. I shot up in frustration and got to the door annoyingly thinking who on the earth would come to meet me at this time. I crack opened d door. She was here, right infront of me, the one n only girl on whom I laid my eyes upon. I lost the count I looked at her cherry lips. "Hello", her sweet crystal clear voice sounded. "Hi", I said dreamingly. "Can I stay in the other room of ur flat if you dont mind..there are no other rooms left in the hotel. I asked out the manager", she spoke out soothingly. "Ya sure..", I replied still lost in her deep drive of her eyes. "Thanks...Can I get in??", she said tired of waiting out. I moved to my right giving her a space to get in.




Lights flickered for a while and went dead all of a sudden. I could see her faintly as the moon lit its presence through the window. "I will burn some candles...wait here", I spoke out. I lit d candle n came to the place where I left her before. She wasnt there anywhere around. I checked out once again. "Kriya!!", I said worriedly. "How do you know my name??", her voice exclaimed from close behind. I brought the light to her cast, I could see her but what startled me was the knife in her hand pointed in my direction. I glared at it n then at her for justification. "I was feeling hungry so I got a knife and an apple", she approved. "Oh Ok!!", I said. "Which is my room??!!", she questioned. I pointed out a room from d two which are opposite and guided her. "Could you please help me out with these things", she asked out. "Yup", I said with a pride. The door moved unevenly as if getting hitted by a strong breeze passing...it was moving to and fro.. but to my attention the windows belonged to the room were closed. "I think this hotel is haunted", she said with a chuckle. "It cant", I cleared. "This is the hotel managed by my brother and the person who are only related to our family could get in...and whom do you know from here??", I asked quite confused to see her here. "Tell me more about your family...ur mom...dad...brother", she stated. "Nothing much...tell me about you", I said excitedly. "So all set for tommorow's race", she cutted me off. Why does she kept on doing that?? Why is she avoiding to answer my questions?? Maybe she doesnt want to share anything with me...maybe she is a typical reserved type of but doesnt seem so. I directed the same question to her. "Im sure I will win the race", she said confidently. "Ok..all the best", I said forwarding my hand. She shook her hand, I froze at the moment. How cold her skin felt against my warmth. She withheld it back giving a creepy smile. "Ok see you tommorow...gotta catch some sleep", she cleared her throat. "Gdnyt", I answered back before leaving the room.




I lied down on my luxurious bed once again. My eyes taunted her beauty and her scent made me go insane somehow. Lights flashed back enlightening my room. I forced my eyes against the sudden upthrival n switched them off n buzzed into a dreamland hugging my pillow trying to feel her in my arms.

Why does this happen only to me?? This is one of the most disgusting thing that have ever happened to me. We were in a competition against each other for the prize tag. She and me!! I looked sidewards to see her face, she was a person with sportly attitude unlike me, she was gawking at the tracks and then the most critical thing I have ever seen - Ring of Death final event ring...it was litted with fire around and left for sometime until the whole ring catches fire. "Take care of yourself", I hissed to her concernedly. I dont know why I feel so possesive about her. I like this girl because she was a different kind of person and also the first girl in my life to give such a competition and this ring is so small compared to the last two. "Dont mind about me...better think about self", she admonished.



I was d first person to start the race between us. I shifted my complete focus to the goal in the air. I raced my bike to a jet speed and went onto the slope n jerked into the air with a wonderful pace, hopefully reached the plumpy beds on the ground after passing through the ring without injuries. It was her turn now, I hooked my hands together for relieving the tension and silently praying for god to make her safe. My heart was galloping in my chest as of now, I know her little by watching her previous stunts. Her jacket once catched fire too and this was the dangerous one ever. I was accustomed to all this since many years but not she. She was new to this season, she was new to this place too I guess. I closed my eyes tightly hoping her to do it good all the way. There was a deadly silence...it almost halted my heart and then there was the most awaited celebrations. I sighed in relief and opened my eyes to see, she was here nearby after the task.

"U did it!!", I said justified of her attitude. "I know I will", she confided. I had a smile which infact should be on her lips. My friends blocked me there and she left to get the good sight of the stage. "Congratulations Rey...you know something you know won this at a very close competition. Gladly she lost it just by the difference of 2 seconds!!", my friend squealed. I was disappointed. I felt her to be more deserving than me. I whispered something into my friend's ear and then went to where she was standing. She gave me a glare n looked back.

"Winner of this season is Kriya Ghai...we request you to collect your prize money Madam", the voice declared.

She darted a look at Rey to which responded, "Go!!". Everyone's eyes were fixed on the beauty who was at a distance. "Go!!", he repeated once again. She went onto d dias and collected the prize money and came downstairs. Rey greeted with a smile. She forwarded the money to him, to he which he looked at her questioningly. "Dont try to fool me Reyaansh...this belongs to you!!", she said sternly. "No...Its yours and you won it!!", he back answered. "I overheard your friends speaking to the journal so no more arguements", she squealed tugging the cheque into his hand. "But..", he started. "Would you mind giving me a lift to the hotel??", she interrupted.
