Aakash always had been the shy one. Never able to express himself in front of friends or for that matter even teachers. It was the first time in these 2 years that he had missed doing his assignment and that too such a crucial one'.plus the studious cry baby that he was of course according to his so called friends'..he had started perspiring at the thought of getting into trouble with the lecturer. Damn! How could he forget to do this assignment? He never missed to do his work but then what went wrong this time. He sure messed with his time table.
"Here Aakash!" He saw a file folder neatly stacked in front of him and Payal standing beside him folding her hands on her chest. Aakash looked at her surprisingly.
"Nahi Kiya than a Assignment, Pata tha mujhe'Us din notes lete samay iske topics lena bhul gaye the tum"
Aakash was more than shocked and as usual speech was not something he was really good at hence he was falling short of words even to ask Payal why did she do it for him. He stood over there taking a look at the assignment and then Payal in turns'.and yes not to forget grinning to himself like a fool.
Payal rolled her eyes looking at him'"Aakash maine tumhara naam mere saath team up kar liya tha. Yeh hamara combined assignment hai". Aakash was more than happy at this gesture of Payal. His thoughts about submitting the assignment as well as attending the horrid lecture had long flown away. Finally after a long wait of an year Payal had somehow started to show some interest in him. Well she never detested him as such. They were good friends. But aakash's shy nature always had been a drawback to what could have been between them. But may be now she was coming to terms with it all by herself, he thought. Yes he liked her but he never had the guts to pour it all out in front of her. He never thought of telling it to her actually. But now that she was starting to be nicer to him'.he thought she must have somewhere felt his liking towards her by all his gestures and sometimes words pointed out towards the extra special place she had in his life''.MAY BE!!. "Aakash, Chalo we are getting late for the class" she pulled him out of the trance of his thoughts and literally pushed him in the class.
What was it? Arnav was still fighting with himself trying to decipher her expression. But why? Why was it so important? Well that question could wait for some other time he thought. He somehow just needed to know why did the eyes the way they spoke had changed their meaning so suddenly. Was it the fact that Lavanya was talking to him? Was she jealous of her? The thought itself made a gentle smile settle on his face along with the recently familiar tingles in his body'.If yes then why? Why does his being friendly to some other girl was affecting her? He was just getting restless by the minute'
What could he do? Should he go and talk to her''He had actually thought of doing so'so many times before or may be he could also said precisely that he had dreamt of talking to her'.But then with her around him he had always seemed to be at loss of words'..WHY?? "Lot of questions''Unanswered" He muttered to himself. "I better do some work"' He suddenly remembered that Lavanya had called him over to her dorm for some help in her assignment. He quickly got ready. He put on a Green colour Lee T ' shirt and pulled up a dark blue Spykar jeans. He sprayed himself with a deo and started walking towards Lavanya's dorm.
Its because of him that I got detention''..Aarrgghhh!! Miss Patel'.If I wasn't attentive for a few minutes doesnt mean I was going to fail in your subject right!!...Now I have to do the assignment twice'.It all coz of his thoughts Khushi'.you need to get a life!!
Offo!! Am I angry coz he was was in my thoughts and that's why I got punished or coz he was talking super sweetly to Lavanya. I mean what's my problem. He can talk to anybody he wants to'.and didn't Lavanya say that their dad's are good friends. So they must be friends too'Wait wait Wait Friends or something else'KHUSHI!!! Focus!! You have to do the assignment twice. And then even if there is something more between them why the hell is it bothering you!! Concentrate on your work you idiot!!
Lavanya entered the dorm at that very moment when Khushi finished her self blabber. She started chirping about all the details about how her day went and all that'.But the only thing that Khushi heard was, "Arnav would be coming over to help us with the assignment Kitty". That did the last favour in the world that she wanted. Face the devil of her dreams'..TALK TO HIM!!!! Damn!!!
It was a month later after she joined NIFD...She was in a hurry to go to her class...She would be sued if she reached late. The lecturer was supposed to show them some live samples today!! But then the dream...It was sooo good that she never felt like waking up from it!!...He sopke to her finally!! In the canteen that too in front of all their friends...He knew her name!! But ALAS!! It was a dream!! Too good to be true...He must not even know that she existed...forget knowing her by her name!! She laughed at her foolishness!!
But then why did she always feel that his eyes searched for her everywhere...Oh shit!! Not again Khushi!! You need to rush for the class!! She said to herself... Suddenly she heard a noise @###@#!!!!The noise was of her books falling down...And then she found herself bumping into someone and about to fall behind but then some girl caught hold of her from behind and the hand that had come from the boy she bumped into was involuntarily grabbed back...She looked on top to see who it was and then cursed herself for doing so later!!
It were those same pair of caramel coloured eyes she dreamt of last night!!..She was lost in them as always... The girl that caught her had picked her books for her and had handed them back to her... But nor she nor he left the gaze!! Till some friend of his came and pulled him to the class he was supposed to attend...The Sorry she was about to say had died in her throat long back and she broke the stare a little before he did... it was then that...death crept into her when she realized that she was late for her class!!
Though she had decided she won't be going grocery shopping with JIJI today. She now swiftly got up and went to dress up Yelling excuses at Lavanya about how Payal won't be able to carry the stuff alone.
"Lavanya!! Ill copy your assignment later ok. Please do this one favour on me"
"Come on Kitty'you don't frame it as a favour now for god's sake'.Do you get it??"
"Oh Lavanya!! You are such a sweetheart!!" Saying this she gave her a side hug and left after Payal.
He sensed that unfamiliarly familiar breeze wash over him while walking towards Lavanya's dorm. He did turn behind to see what caused his senses to go for a ride' but all what he could see was around 20 girls gasping at his name as he walked by. He shook his head again to shove of the hues of hazel which had suddenly peeped in unknowingly. Well one could say that it had become a habit for him lately.
He started wondering casually about a certain KITTY who was supposed to be Lavanya's dorm mate. "Lets see how "cute" her dorm mates are"'he said to himself and knocked.
Khushi did see him passing from the corridor from the corner of her eyes and yes her heart beat along with her thought did go haywire as usual. But then she concentrated rather on following her JIJI.
Lavanya opened the door and let Arnav in. He took the couch when Lavanya went in to fetch him some water.
"Arnav!! Kitty and JIJI are gone for some grocery shopping. Kitty said she will copy the assignment from mine later''anyways we are teamed up so Ill explain important things to her later." She spoke while handing over the glass of water to him.
Arnav nodded kept the glass of water aside after drinking it and then they started working on the assignment. After another hour they finished their work and Arnav got up to leave. " Thanks Arnav. So sorry you couldn't meet Kitty and JIJI. I am sure Kitty must have dragged JIJI to a chat or a sweet shop a hogger that she is!!"
"Kitty" Arnav thought again'..Interesting girl!! He left for his dorm. It suddenly started raining. Arnav heard the sound of rain and he turned around and walked down on the ground floor to have a look a t the surroundings and the skies closely. He loved the nature over here and specially when it rained the sight was just to behold'.A sight which was to be long cherished'..the most beautiful one'..UNTIL BEFORE 2 MONTHS!! Damn..Not again he thought!! But then the sight that greeted his eyes was more beautiful than the one he saw before 2 months''Hell yes!! It was far more mesmerizing and heavenly'.He saw an angel of a petite frame with the milkiest skin ever was enjoying the rains in the most blissful way ever!
Khushi was passing as much time as possible in the market dragging Payal to every shop she could think of. She almost had 4 rounds of Golgappas plus 2 servings of Jalebis with Rabdi and that's when Payal announced. "Time to go back Khushi you have had yourselves filled for more than 3 days."
Khushi obediently followed her thinking well almost praying that he should have left by now. The market was quite close to the college. They reached back in 10 minutes. Exactly then the clouds rumbles and the skies decided to march on the earth in the best way they can. Payal ran towards the dorm trying her best not to get wet and called to Khushi'.." Khushi jaldi bhago!!"'..But Payal didn't bother to turn back and see whether Khushi followed her or not'.Khushi on the other hand decided to ignore her JIJI's yells and did what she knew best''Enjoy herself!!...After all she was Khushi!!
Bliss!! This was Bliss!! She loved the rains. She started taking the rain showers on her face and spread her hands turning around in a clockwise direction. Her white top had already stuck to her skin showing whatever was bear underneath mostly her part of the waistline just above her jeans and her shoulders''She cared a damn'.She knew no one comes to this part of the campus at this time and even if they did'.Well she was just enjoying the rain!! Little did she know that the pair of caramel eyes she was dreadfully attracted to were devouring her sight just like she had devoured the Golgappas sometime earlier'.!!Little did she know that she was about to be...
