Part 3

Khushi was busy packing her bag...They need to be at the airport soon...Prem was wide awake...Kicking his tiny legs and chewing his fingers...There was a soft knock on the door and it opened...In walked Naina, waving the rooms key...Looking beautiful as always...She was a model by profession, till she met and fell in love with Karan, 5 years ago...She came near Prem and said...My baby is still awake...

Hearing Nainas voice, Prem turned his head towards her and started kicking his legs and raised his arms...Asking her to pick him up...She bent down, picked him up, kissed him and said...Soni, IM so disappointed and sad...

Khushi looked at Naina and said...Why, what happened? Is Karan troubling you?

Naina...Karan and trouble...He's the sweetest thing on earth...Nooo...I m talking about that handsome hunk...Arnav...Oh God, hes so hot and handsome...but...

Khushi froze while packing her bag. She looked at Naina and said...You are married and love your husband...

Naina...IM very married. Kissed her baby and continued...I dont want him for myself...I was thinking maybe I could fix him for you...

Khushi had a feeling where all this conversation was going. So she was ready for it and didnt react much when Naina told her about her matchmaking...Khushi sighed and said...Naina...IM not interested...

Naina...I know Soni...But...But...

Khushi couldnt help asking...But what...

Naina sighed and said...I thought he was a bachelor...But hes not...Khushi was putting stuff in her bag and thought...Ya, he was married... huh...

Naina continued...Hes getting married soon...I heard Karan asking him the lucky girls name...its Lavanya...

Luckily Khushi was in the bathroom, picking her toiletries when she heard that...She dropped her toothpaste and held on to the washbasin for support...That hurt...So finally he was getting married...Why shouldnt he? He had been engaged to Lavanya once...And they both deserved each other...Khushi thought...pacifying herself...She was better off without him...Then she looked into the mirror...tears were flowing from her eyes...Why was she crying...She didnt need him in her life...She was happy and content...Much better off than when she was his wife...A wife which he had to blackmail to marry...He had never truly trusted her...She was over him now...All she had to do was keep away...very far away from him...And not to think about him at all...

She wiped her tears and told herself...Khushi this is better for you...Naina was talking non stop...Khushi quickly collected her stuff and went in the room...

Naina...Soni, one bad experience in life shouldnt make you sour...Your bother and I want you to settle soon now...He worries about you...One must move on...Just tell me his name and we will find him and get him to divorce you...But first I will give him a tight slap on his face for dumping such a beautiful and innocent girl like you...Ill also ask him...How did you let her go? Arnav was all ready and had a big smile on his face...It looked as if the cat had got the canary...Khushi asked...What do you want?

Arnav looked her up...Moving his eyes from top and slowly moving till he reached her her toes and then moving back, taking in everything and straight to her honey brown eyes... She didnt blink and looked straight into his...Challenging him... He was very confident when he said... OH, I know you have NOT told your so called family about me...And im sure they are very eager to know me...

Khushi...Im not going to discuss my family with you...Why are you here? You want to blackmail me into something? Then let me make myself very clear Mr. ASR...Im not the same Khushi who was blackmailed, used ,abused and then easily discarded, when it suited others...I will not be blackmailed into anything anymore...by you or anyone from my past...Im over them all...I dont know any of you and I dont want to know any of you...Im over you all

They were interrupted by the the knock on the door...It was the porter...Khushi handed him the bag, picked her hand bag and walked out the door before the porter...Not giving Arnav a chance to stop her...She held her head high and walked out the door...She didnt stop, nor did she turned to see if he was following or not...

Arnav just stood where she had left him...She sounded hurt...But then they all had hurt her and left her alone...He combed his hair with his fingers and thought...I have found you...I will fight tooth and nail to get you back...ASR never says sorry to anyone...But for you Khushi, Im ready to crawl on my knees...He turned to go and saw something shiny near the dressing table...He bent down and picked it up...It was a silver diamond earring...The one she was wearing when she had fainted...He cupped it in his palm...pocketed it and walked out the room...

Heathrow Airport London, one of the world's most busiest and largest airport...Till their flight was announced, they all were waiting in the Emirates Airlines Business Lounge...It was a beautiful sitting place. The wall facing the runway was completely windowed...Each and every plane could be seen landing and taking off... Khushi was standing by the glass, looking out...But she was not here...She was in deep thought...Karan came n tapped on her shoulder and said...Hey, are you alright?

Bringing Khushi back to the present...She turned to face her brother and gave him her best smile and said...Im fine...

Worriedly he touched her head to see if she had fever...Khushi held his hand and snaked her arm around his and said..Im fine...

Karan...Still, I want you to have a full check up done when we reach home...

Khushi...What???

Naina was sitting on the sofa facing the glass wall...Prem in her arms, with a bottle in his mouth...She looked at the two and said...She doesnt need a doctor...She needs to make a life for herself now...

Khushi and Karan looked at each other, smiled and together said...Here we go again...

Naina...Im serious...

Karan...I know you are serious, so am I...Lets get home and we can discuss it then...

Naina looking at Khushi said...We need some information thats all...You tell us everything and then I will handle him myself...

Khushi...I need some tea...

Karan... Get some for me too love...

Khushi escaped to get some food and tea...She knew Naina meant well...They both did...They both loved her unconditionally...But she wasn't ready to confront her past...nor was she ready to talk about it...So why was it coming again and again in front of her to slap her on the face...She had filled a tray with all the goodies and three cups of tea and was walking towards their sitting place and she saw him...He was standing there with his manager Mr Akshay...

Arnav was looking here and there and finally found what he was looking for...Came forward and took the tray from her hands and said...You will probably fall and waste all this good food...And he walked away...Khushi followed him...fuming...

Naina was nonstop chatting with Mr.Akshay...She was so beautiful, that no one could resist her...Khushi came and sat on the sofa opposite her. Arnav sat the tray on the table and walked to where Karan was, by the glass wall...Suddenly Naina ask Akshay...So are you married??

Akshay went red and blushed and said...Yes Maam, im married and have a little daughter...Naina's face was a sight to see...She said...Oh...ok...You can go now...She actually dismissed the poor guy...

Khushi saw the guy going and joining ASR and Karan...She couldn't take it anymore and she burst out laughing and said..Naina, are you for real??? You embarrassed that poor guy...

Naina...What...I asked him a simple, plain question, thats all...Till you dont tell me the whole story...Im going to continue doing this...She sighed audibly...Wish Arnav was available...

Khushi...You are unbelievable...Somehow that word choked her...She got up, took Prem and said...Ill burp him...You eat something...

Karan heard Khushi laugh, he turned to see her, smiled and said... Im glad I dragged her to this conference...at least shes laughing...Im so worried about her...She doesnt socialize at all...Wish she would tell me more about her past, more about that Laad Gov...He sighed and said...Lets have some tea...

Khushi was standing a bit far from the rest, looking out the window...Prem had burped and was now snoozing on her shoulder...Arnav came near her and said...Are you their maid?

Khushi didnt even turn, just said..Only you would say such a thing...

Arnav...Why dont you tell your brother who Laad Gov is? Hes so worried about you...If you want, I can tell him...

Khushi turned to face him and smiled...Blackmailing me??? Oh I forgot. thats how you achieve everything...Dont you Mr. ASR...But be very careful how you handle this issue...Cause it can backfire...Clearly remember one thing...IM not the weak and helpless Khushi...One wrong step and you will dig a hole for yourself...Anyway...congratulations...I hear you are getting married...But wont you need to divorce me first? Oh, dont worry, I will sign the divorce papers without a fuss... Oh by the way, Karan is looking for Laad Gov, so he can get him to divorce me...So it will work for us all...I dont need to tell my family about my past, at the same time you can freely marry Lavanya...She walked away...

Arnav stood shocked...He wasnt ready to hear this...He felt as if someone had pulled the earth right from beneath his feet...
