"Khushi, you look amazing," Jiya drawed out 'amazing.'

"Do I...do you think he will notice?"

"If he doesn't go flat after looking at you, then I will be forced to think he is gay. I spent an hour dolling you up and another 2 helping you find that dress. Get up for a second Khushi." Khushi got up off the chair and Jiya twirled her.

"Jiya mirror now please." Khushi was getting really desperate now. She wanted to look at herself. Did she really look pretty or was she just bluffing.

"No, I still have to do your hair. You wanna look perfect today right," Khushi nodded, she did want to shine, "then listen to mama." Khushi chuckled at that, she certainly was doing the part today.

Twenty minutes passed in silence as Khushi sat there anxiously awaiting the mirror, and while Jiya continued the pampering.

"Done," Jiya inspected her work and said, "mamacita," as she winked at Khushi.

"That good?" Khushi still did not believe her.

"Look for yourself," finally the moment Khushi had been waiting for.

She froze the moment she looked at herself in the mirror. She looked...HOT, she could think of no other word. She had never felt this sexy before. Her dark smoky eyes hiding intimate secrets. Her nude lips inviting a kiss. Her rosy cheeks begging to be caressed.

What will he think when he will lay his eyes on her. Was she just being foolish after all she was only 16 and he was 24. He was the man of every woman's dream in Shimla.

"Khushi are you ready," dad asked knocking on her bedroom door bringing her out of her thoughts.

Khushi got up and opened the door. "Wow you really look like an angel today," dad said with eyes gone soft, and a smile.

"Come on now everyone is waiting." Everyone...but she was only waiting for him.

Khushi scanned the room as she slowly advanced down the stairs. All eyes were on her...all her friends, her classmates were there but she did not care for them because she only had eyes for him.

They all started singing Happy Birthday as she walked down the stairs, but she only wanted to hear his voice. She was approaching the bottom of the stairs and she had still not spotted him. The smile on her face started wavering. Was he not here? Did he forget her birthday?

Khushi was surrounded by everyone she knew when she got to the last step. They all wished her for her birthday, and some gave her flowers, but none of those wishes or flowers mattered because they weren't from him.

Jiya came over near her then and whispered in her ears, "Khushi what happened. Why the sad face?"

Khushi turned and gave her friend one sad look that Jiya must have understood because she whispered, "I will look for him."

Five minutes later Jiya returned to her side and told her he wasn't here. Khushi's heart sank. He wasn't here, but how could he miss her birthday?

She felt so stupid then. Like an idiot, she had spent the whole day shopping, dolling up for someone who didn't even show up on her birthday party. Rahul, one of Khushi's classmates, came over and dragged her away from Jiya and the rest of the people surrounding her.

Khushi tried to get out of his grasp, but he was much stronger than her and she had been so consumed in her sadness that she had not really put up a fight. He took her to a corner, placed his hands on her waist and pushed her closer to him. "You look mouthwatering," he said in her ears. "Where have you been hiding Gupta, I never thought you would look so...sexy."

Khushi started putting up a fight now because she was getting scared by his tone and the desire hidden in his eyes. She squirmed in his hold to no avail. "Let me go Rahul," she said sternly.

She placed her hands on his chest and pushed. Surprisingly enough he stumbled back. There was no way she was that strong. She looked back and saw that Arnav had pushed him. All thoughts of Rahul forgotten...he was here.
