Arnav brought his car to a screeching halt.
Banging the vehicle door shut and without even looking back to see if it had closed properly, he rushed up the few short steps that led to Buaji's house. Barely sparing a glance at the others, he hurried into the inner room where he knew she'd be and catching hold of her upper arm, he dragged her outside.
Thrusting her into the passenger seat of his car with the same gentleness that one would show a sack of wheat, he started the car.
He saw her watch him, her expression a mixture of disbelief and alarm, but he chose to ignore it.
No words were spoken, until he brought his car to a screeching halt again.
They had reached the temple where he'd married her.
