Love & Hate darkens

It had been more than a month that Maan's life was blessed with ecstatic happiness- his Geet was there with him. Yes, he believed it to be his lord, the sun God Lord Aditya's blessings that Geet came into his life. Every time he mentioned it before Geet, she frowned. Sometimes she smiled and otherwise she seemed to ignore him totally. Another thing frustrated him very much- after much persuasions in his part, she would not live in the palace. Every time he tried to reason with her she had denied it.

Maan was again trying to sway her from her decision-"Geet, you don't have to atone for anything, because you had not committed any sin. It was lord's wish what had happened in your life. Are you even listening what I'm trying to tell you?" but her attention seemed to be engaged otherwise. She was playing with Maan's hands- holding it, caressing it, tickling it little bit. Finally she settled his right hand on her lap and held it with both hands. Maan was momentarily lost in her soft touch-"You are very stubborn and you know very well how to distract other people from their point!"

-"No, Maan, I know how to distract you. You are the only person in my existence whom I love more than everything else. You showed me the meaning of love; you taught me how to live my life. I had already got more than I had ever dreamt; and with you there beside me I always want more. So living in the same palace would surely damn me to hell."

Maan playfully tickled her feet-"Sure? You want more?"

-"Maan, I was not referring about that and you know what hat is pretty well. Stop it Maan, it tickles." And she giggled.

Bit Maan was not going to leave her easily now that he had found out some weak point of her. She now tried to move her feet, but he held them tightly. She pleaded with him-"Please Maan, let me go!"

-"Only if you agree to my proposal!"

-"Anything but staying in your palace." She would have loved to stay under the same roof with Maan. But it was her compulsion that had prohibited her.

Lady Srishti's laws said that the sun god and moon goddess could not stay in one confined place for more than 24 hours; if they did their shine would be reduced drastically. Chandrika could not risk that. She looked at Maan. He seemed to be thinking about her words for some time seriously and suddenly a bright idea came across his mind. He had to visit one of his states for political reasons. It was really important; but he could not leave Geet here alone. Now that the opportunity presented itself, he decided not to waste it. He winked at her mischievously-'Anything, Geet?"

She blushed-"No, I didn't mean that."

Maan said in an innocent tone-"What Geet? What did I say? And why are you blushing to such bright red?"

-"I don't know!"

-"You are blushing without knowing the reason! That's interesting."

Maan was smiling naughtily to see her struggling to maintain a dignified face, which was betraying her badly. He finally said-"Actually Geet, I had to leave for Udaygardh in a few days. There are some problems and my presence is required there. But I could not leave you behind; if I do, I would be thinking about you always. So will you please accompany me there? It is a beautiful state and I promise I'll take good care of you."

Now of that she had no doubts. Maan is always so protective about her. He spends each and every sparable minute from his busy schedule with her. Even sometimes she had to literally push him to attend his duties. She often said-"I don't want to be the reason of dissatisfaction of your subjects. I can't tolerate that people will blame you for anything. Raj dharma (Royal duties) should be your top priority."

But if Maan decided to ignore her, whatever reasons she showed, Maan was not to be convinced. Then again she did not always tried hard also- if truly she wanted him to leave, she could have made him. From the very first day in the temple, she had promised herself that she would never influence her Maan by any of her goddess powers. Her Maan truly loved her and she also felt the same way about him. What was the need to deploy in unfair means??? She knew very well, if she delved deep into this relationship, she could hurt him. Lady Srishti might not approve of such a bonding. And if Maan found out about her true identity'.. No, she didn't know how to tackle that!!! When she accepted the challenge of Aditya, she had never imagined that Maan would become inseparable part of her life. It was as if he provided the warmth in her body, his presence strengthens her soul.

Now Maan was offering her trip to a different state. She knew there would be consequences if she accepts this; but it was becoming more and more hard to resist. She could come much more close to her Maan in those few days and she did not want to lose those golden moments. She smiled to think of those yet to come happiness.

She saw Maan was becoming restless because of her silence, but had not interrupted in her thoughts. She did not want to keep her love waiting anymore, so finally she nodded in affirmative-"I would love to visit Udaygardh. When are we leaving?"

Maan's face lit up in unspeakable joy-"Soon, Geet. Very soon."

Lord Aditya noticed that Devi Roshni was not listening to him at all for some time. She was looking intently ay the earth plane. Lord Aditya could not hold back his curiosity anymore-"Roshni, what has captured your attention for so long that you are ignoring even me?"

-"Aditya, in a way I'm looking at you."

-"Looking at me? But your eyes are fixed on something else than me."

-"Ohhh Aditya, from when do you started thinking so literally? Don't we gods always say that we are present in our greatest devotees. So while I'm watching Maharaja Dhimaan, I'm looking at you, isn't that right?"

-"Nobody can refute your logics Roshni. If that is the case, then you are absolutely correct. He is no doubt my greatest devotee. But what about him had interested you now?"

-"I must say, Devi Chandrika had done quite well so far. I'm impressed. With just a twist of her eyes, she had gained his sympathy and then achieved the cherished prize- his love. More interestingly she had made him believe that she also love him. Wonderful! Power, Aditya, power! She is glowing more and more brightly every day. Your sister really knows the act of capturing any person."

Aditya laughed out-"Roshni, you are just jealous! I guess you had thought Chandrika would be defeated in this challenge, but now her win is giving you a hard time. You should not talk about her in this manner. You are the fire goddess. Your followers compare you with absolutely purity. You should be pure at heart."

-"I'm not jealous. Chandrika can have whatever she wants, she can do whatever she likes. But her this particular activity is affecting you. I cannot tolerate that."

-"But how?"

-"Can't you see, Aditya? She is shinning more and more brightly. Her power is increasing rapidly. She still does not know that, but soon she will become the golden moon-the words of Lady Srishti would become true. She will become more powerful than you, the sun."

Aditya recalled his mother's words perfectly well.

"Sun shall have ultimate power till golden moon glows in sky."

-"What nonsense! She can never be more powerful than me. Her false show of love can never be compared to our love Roshni. She can never be the golden moon, it's a myth and it will remain like that. Let her enjoy the win."

-"she has a long way to go before winning", said Roshni bitterly.

-"Don't be such a spoil sport. We had encouraged her to take this challenge and frankly I'm very much enjoying it. See Chandrika is now preparing for her journey to Udaygardh with Dhimaan. Interesting. Good job, sister. Bravo! Bravo!"

Devi Roshni looked other ways and thought-"I can't share your enthusiasm, Aditya. You are not realizing the blatant truth which is dancing openly in front of you. I have to take care of Chandrika and her precious affair."
