Warmth of Relations
Dhimaan was busy looking for arrangements of the journey. They were leaving tomorrow. He still could not believe that Geet was coming with him. He was sure that Geet would think by declining the request of joining him in this trip, she could atone some more. Now that she had agreed to come, Maan wanted everything to be perfect in this journey. The already super perfectionist Maan was now going crazy over fine tuning. So you can imagine how well were the arrangements done.
Maan had prepared a palanquin for Geet. It was decorated grandly he was checking it finally, when his mother Rajmata Basundhara Devi came there. Maan was surprised to see her there, because very rarely Rajmata left the palace. Moreover she had come alone.
But hiding his surprise, he smiled at her-"Mother, you shouldn't have come here alone. You could have called me."
-"No, Dhimaan. Tomorrow you are leaving for Udaygardh. Before that I wanted to see you as you are now."
-"I didn't understand. What are you talking about?"
Rajmata did not answer is question, rather she was looking at the palanquin with great interest.-"Dhimaan from when do you visit in palanquin?"
Maan was getting uncomfortable. He had not told his mother about Geet; in fact nobody knew about her except him and the temple priest, whom he had given the responsibility to watch over Geet.
-'No, its not for me, mother. It's for some special lady/"
-"Ohh.. special lady! I see, but son, you have to tell me at least one week before leaving, so that I can make my own arrangements."
-"What arrangements mother?"
-"But you just said, you had prepared this palanquin for the special lady and as far as I know there is no lady in your life except me. Isn't that so?"
Maan was not expecting that. He was really ashamed of saying those words to her. How could he know that his mother would come to such a conclusion! Now even if he wanted to do, he couod not tell her about Geet. He remained silent.
Rajmata Basundhara Devi enjoyed the embarrassed condition of her son. It was a rare occasion when his son could be seen in such a state. The chief priest of the sun temple had already informed her about the girl, who was residing there. At first Rajmata could not believe her own ears- how was it possible? Dhimaan was interested in a girl! What was so special in her that could move his son from the path of celibacy??? No, he had not sworn the vows of celibacy, but for Dhimaan his decision was equal to swearing vows. But Rajmata enjoyed this situation very much, so she continued the faade-"Dhimaan, how can I complete all of my arrangements in such a short time! I think it would be best if Geetika accompanies you rather than me."
Dhimaan was literally star struck at Rajmata's words. But he did not want to accept that. He made an innocent face and said-"Geetika? Who is she? And why should she come with me?"
-"Now don't act as if you know nothing! Do you want me to tell you about your little trips to the temple?"
No Maan was really embarrassed. Never in his life had he been in such a situation in front of his mother. Geet really toppled down his life- but not always in a bad way- no, mostly in brilliant ways. Rajmata ruffled the hairs of Dhimaan. While he was a child he used to like that very much, but after growing up it hurts the ego of Maharaja Dhimaan to have messed up hair. Today he felt that the blessing were showered on his through this very simple and loving act if her mother. Dhimaan bowed and touched the feet of his mother-"Mother am I doing the right thing?"
-"Yes, son. She is a very good girl and very pretty indeed. She would make a fine queen. I am so happy for you. Return from the trip safely. I bless you, Dhimaan. But one thing, I would like to meet her, if Maharaja had no objection to that!"
-"We'll come to see you tomorrow morning mother." A heavy burden was lifted from Maan's heart. Rajmata had blessed him, she had accepted Geet without even hi asking. He could not wait to share this with Geet. He had made up his mind- with Lord Aditya's blessings he was going to propose Geet for marriage during their stay at Udaygardh.

Next day in the morning Chandrika saw Dhimaan was praying at the sun temple-"So I had enough time to get ready." She wanted to dress up today only for her Maan. They were leaving today. Last night Maan came to meet her and he told that Rajmata had accepted Geet and she had blessed them. He could not hide his joy. He wanted to formally introduce Geet to Rajmata today. But Geet was only interested to look pretty in her Maan's eyes.
She wore a pink coloured lahenga and adorned herself with jewelry. She tried to wait for Maan but after a few minutes got bored. She got out of the temple and roamed the banks of river Ganges. Her shadow on the water was stirring little bit for the soft breeze. Geet was contemplating her appearance on the reflection while her shadow got accompanied by another one. Maan was standing behind her. He slowly turned her around and was completely mesmerized by her beauty. '"You'll not be able to contemplate yourself totally, Geet. Do not look into your reflection on water. Look at my eyes. You can see yourself better here. You are looking divine today."
She blushed and could not meet his eyes directly. Maan lifted her face and their eyes met. Geet felt as if she could read his every feeling there. Today she wanted to prepare herself only for him, and yes, she claimed every bit of Maan's heart now. Maan hold her hand and said- "Ready Princess to meet the world with me?"
-"Never better. But not to face the world Maan, only to move forward in any journey with you."

Maan and Geet entered in the room of Rajmata. Geet was thinking-"I'm a Goddess! And here I'm getting nervous before meeting Rajmata. Living in the earth plane definitely got better of me. Breathe Geet breath! Ohh.. I have even forgotten my real name. Huh always hearing "Geet" from Maan's lips these days, not that I mind!!!Breath, Chandrika breathe. Ohh no.. I'm a goddess and I don't have to breathe like human. Chandrika, get a hold on yourself"
Rajmata came forward and greeted Geet warmly-"Come, my child. Welcome to the palace of Maharaja Dhimaan. I believe this is your first time in the palace, Dhimaan had never showed you around and I know that."
-"Mother you are embarrassing me! And Geet didn't want to come here; I had asked her thousand times to stay here."
-"No Dhimaan, you are not allowed to participate in our girls' talk. So go and suit yourself anywhere you like."
Geet instantly felt much more relieved at this type of behavior and soon after an hour she began to respect and love Rajmata like her own mother. She was sure Rajmata also likes her and loves her like a daughter. It was totally reflected the way she was talking and looking at her. Dhimaan came back after an hour and Rajmata asked him-"Dhimaan, I heard that you are not travelling wit your usual royal guards set up? Why are you taking such a risk? Udaygardh is a long way from here. You should not travel like this and Geet is also going with you. At least let Veerendra accompany you."
-'Uhh.. Ohh.. mother, I was just fearing that you'll say something like that."
-"Then you should have asked him yourself. Anyways, I have already called him and he'll be here any moment."
Geet whispered to Maan-"Who is Veerendra?' But Rajmata heard that and said in a surprised tone-"I can't believe Dhimaan that you have kept secret from Veerendra about Geetika and about Veerendra from her! You should have introduced them long before. He is going to be very angry."
Maan nodded and said-"I'm afraid he will be. Geet, Veerendra is the head of our royal arsenal. He is chief security officer of this palace, best swordsman in the whole country and the general in the royal court. All in all he is the best fighter of this country" and added in a hushed tone-"apart from me of course. But he would not believe that."
Rajmata interrupted and said-'He only gave you the formal identity of Veerendra. He is the son of our chief counselor and a brother to Dhimaan. They are also best friends."
-"Maan, I would like to meet him very much."
-"Geet, he is.. ohh you have your heart's wish fulfilled there. Here comes our general Veerendra Singh."
Veerendra made a stren face and greeted Rajmata and Dhimaan formally.-"Mararaja, Rajmata had ordered me to accompany you in this journey. Do I have the permission from His Highness also?"
Rajmata smiled and patted Veerendra on the shoulder-"Dhimaan I had already warned you about this."
Maan looked at him for a few moments and then suddenly hugged him- "Sorry brother, Don't be mad at me."
-"No, No, Maharaja. Who am I to be angry on you? Do you think I am angry! No, Your Highness' I don't have the courage to even think about that" and he looked away from Maan. But his eyes fell on Geet. She was standing right beside him.
Geet hold Veerendra's hands and said-"Sorry, Veeren bhaiya. This is my entire fault. I forbade Maan to talk about me to anyone. And he promised me that' he was just keeping his promise. Can't you forgive your little sister?" and she made a crying baby face.
Veerenra laughed and hugged Maan back-"Now I can see why he can't refuse you. None could refuse such a baby. You are lucky to have her Dhimaan. She is indeed very charming and quite a beauty."
They all bowed to Rajmata and all of them left for the journey which would change the fate of them and with that the face of nature.
