Part 6 ~ Her voice...
Lavanya gave a huge sigh of relief as she sank into the comfortable bed throwing her luggage by the side. She stretched her hands and fingers.
"What the hell Lavanya? is this how you'll keep your suitcase?",Khushi complained, staring at Lavanya's luggage thrown in the middle of the room.
"uh... Khushi! please! I am too tired. You sort out the luggage.", Lavanya said as she lazily lay on the bed.
Khushi left out a sigh. She picked up the suitcase from the floor and started to sort out Lavanya's belongings. Suddenly, her phone rang. Khushi got up to pick it up.
Lavanya raised her eye brows.
"Ahem Ahem! It is 9 pm! Who is calling you at this time?", Lavanya said with a wink and immediately dodged the pillow attack from Khushi.
"Hello?", Khushi asked.
Lavanya saw her nodding her head umpteen times and tried to guess who was on the other side of the conversation.
"Don't worry ma'am. I'll take care of that. just come to meet me tomorrow along with your husband",Khushi replied.
"Oh.. so it is a woman! ", Lavanya said to herself.
"Okay then. I am expecting you in my office tomorrow evening",Khushi said and hung up the phone.
She turned to Lavanya who looked at her questioningly.
"What kind of social service are you doing now?",Lavanya asked her sarcastically.
Khushi smiled.
"I am a marriage counselor Lavanya", she said.
"Oh!", Lavanya said, thousands of questions roamed in her mind just then but she could just ask one thing,"Why?" .
Khushi's smile vanished. She turned around.
"What do you mean by 'Why'? Thats what I am. I feel peaceful advicing people. I feel great when two people who are in love sort out thier differences. I feel awesome when two people who love each other immensely don't have to part ways"she said.
Lavanya noticed Khushi's voice trembling on the last line. She wanted to know what happened.
"Why Khushi?",she asked.
"What?",Khushi asked.
"You know what I am asking, right. Why did you come here. Why did you leave everything. Why did you leave him"?, Lavanya asked in a serious tone.
Khushi closed her eyes unable to bear the pain that just pierced her heart on remembering him.
"Somethings are meant to be Lavanya. We can't help it. Sometimes we have to do things for the happiness of the one you love even if it is painful", she said.
She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned around to see Lavanya.
"Don't say anything", Lavanya said with an understanding smile, and embraced Khushi.

"What do you want for breakfast?", Khushi asked a sleepy Lavanya.
"Sandwich would do", she lazily replied.
"Get Up! Its 10 already!", Khushi screamed as she quickly went to the kitchen.
Lavanya quickly got up. She spent the whole night wondering what happened between Khushi and Arnav. She didn't want to ask Khushi again as she could see how much pain she felt. She fiddled with her phone and dialed a number.
Arnav was fiddling with his files when his phone rang. He gave a disgusted sigh, took his coffee mug and picked it up.
"Hello?",he asked.
"Remember Me?", a voiced excitedly,on the other side.
Arnav was a bit taken aback by the sudden ecstasy.
"Uhh... sorry whose this?", he asked.
"Gosh! You don't remember ME ASR!!",the voice said.
"Ohhh man! Lavanya!",Arnav said excitedly.
"Thank God!", Lavanya sighed on the other side.
"Wow! What a pleasant surprise! How are you?", he said with a bright smile on his face.
"My friend doesn't remember me. You can think how I am",Lavanya said and pretended to sob.
"Its not like that Lavanya. Are you in India?", he asked curiously.
"Ya!", she said.
"Oh! Thats why. the phone didn't show the international code.", he said.
"So.. Whats up?", she asked him.
"Nothing.. you say. What are you doing in india? And where are you living?", he asked her.
"Breathe ASR .. breathe! I am in Mumbai", she said.
"Oh! Why not Delhi?", he asked.
"Uh.. no.. I had to meet my friend", she blurted out.
"And when are you planning to come to Delhi?", he asked.
"Soon. Actually ASR, umm... it might shock you. I am getting married", she said.
"WHAT!", he blurted out spitting out the coffee in his mouth.
"Tell me when you are done", she said, waiting for him to get back to his senses.
"Oh wow!! Who is the guy?", he asked her, finally getting to his normal self.
"Ankit. He worked with me in London. His family is in Mumbai. So I am here. ", she said, hearing giggles from the other side of the phone.
"So should I consider this phone call an unofficial invitation to your marriage?", he asked, trying his best to control his giggles.
"Engagement is next week. I want you to come with your family. AND STOP GIGGLING! ITS NOT FUNNY ANYMORE!", she said in a disgusted tone.
Arnav chuckled.
"And I want you to meet my friend too. You'll like her", she said.
Arnav rolled his eyes.
"Lavanya, if you are trying to hook me up with someone then forget it. Hey! I am coming to Mumbai in 2 days. We can meet. Bring Ankit too.Which hotel are you living in? ", he asked.
Lavanya freezed.
"uhhh... At my friend's house", she said, stumbling upon her words.
"Dumbo! I mean the address", he said slapping his forehead.
Just then the door of her room opened and in came Khushi.
"Here is your sandwich", she said keeping the plate on the table.
Lavanya's jaw dropped. She quickly placed her hand on the phone, praying that Arnav hadn't heard Khushi's voice.
Arnav heard a familiar faint voice in the background. He curled his eyebrows.
"Who is that?", he asked Lavanya.
Lavanya had froze. Khushi raised her eyebrows.
"What happened to you?"she asked lavanya.
"Shut up Khu...", Lavanya quickly placed her hand on her mouth and banged her head on the wall mentally.
She could feel Arnav suddenly take a deep breathe on the other side.
"Who is there Lavanya", Arnav asked her, a shiver going down his spine on hearing that voice.
