Lin ...
Permit me to reserve a place to comment with what struck me the most about your story very deeply, not least because of our budding own bond ...
I haven't been able to focus my mind long enough to read anything lately other than that which I am obliged to do for work purposes ... you know I had been saving this until such a time that I could sit peacefully and absorb it ...
Your surprise addition to your chapters of a storyteller is the most apt chapter for what and who you are in this whole experience. You are the oh so important lynchpin for all the sheets of papers that need to be bound together to make these chapters into a book ...
I agree with many of those who have commented before me that it is indeed like reading a book. I was telling my sister you write like Karin Slaughter & James Patterson (ok they are thriller writers) but you capture the essense of your characters and setting in such a small number of words, that in itself is an art ...
All the chapters flowed really well and had something new to offer, I love the illustrations which make this world of yours come alive. All five of my senses are experiencing your world Lin ...
I love how all the relationships are important in your story, not just the love story developing between Lord Arnav and Khushi ...
Parents, siblings, community and soon to become enemies ? no one escapes your writer's light ...
I will tell you which Chapter struck a chord with me, it was the one where Lord Arnav has to gag himself ... I don't want to get too personal in this open space but I can say short of actually tying something around my own mouth, I know how he feels ... the whole trying to keep something within that is screaming to be set free. The sheer terror of allowing even a breath of it to escape is unthinkable let alone do-able ... I could completely identify with that scene and the way you wrote it ... the darkness surrounding him and within him ... I applaud your imagination Lin that crossed over so effortlessly into reality ...
Khushi's fall into Lord Arnav's arms and his rage and disdain for her, another highlight ... you stay so true to what it is we all love about the original and yet show us a story that has come from your mind and heart ...
You are indeed blessed with the joy of imagination and the ability to share it with all of us ...
Thank you so much LS for your generous soul and spirit ... having sworn my oath, I look forward to walking this road alongside you 🤗 x
