24 yrs before:
khushi was feeling restless in her cabin...
Had he seen the note that she had kept inside the file?
ofcourse he must have...
But then why was he not responding?
He had not even called her for any work also?
hey devi mayyah!
kaisa insaan hai?
I am loosing my patience over here...
Better go and check on him...
khushi knocked on the door before entering the cabin...and she found him engrossed in some file...he was not even acknowledging her presence...
khushi moved over to his table and cleared her throat...
once...
twice...
thrice!!!!
Finally,Arnav Malik looked up from his file..."khushi! agar gala kharab ho,to dawai lelo...mujhe disturb mat karo!"
khushi gulped embarassed...
"er...main bilkul teek hoon sir!"
And then to her shock,Arnav went back to his file without sparing her another glance...
"sir...voh ...aapne file dekha nahi??"
Arnav pretended as if he did not know wat she was talking about...
"can't you see what is in my hand?"
khushi shook her head...
Arnav raised his eyebrows...
"mera matlab hain...haan...main dekh sakti hoon...but I was enquiring about the file which i gave you to sign...earlier...don't you remember?"
Arnav acted as if he was racking his brain and then...
"aaah! yaad aaya! voh file toh maine Aman ko dediye,proof reading keliye!"
khushi dropped the pen which was in her hand...
"kya???
Aman ko?
hey bhagwan...yeh aapne kya kardiya?"
Arnav looked puzzled...
"ab bhagwan ne kya kiya?"
khushi did not know wat to do...
"bhagwan ne nahi...aapne!
"khushi...just relax! Aman gave me that file back ...and I have signed it...I know that you are too dedicated to ur work that u don't like delay in anything...so here is the file...take ten copies of it and send it to the contractors...now you can go!"
khushi took the file in her trembling hands and walked out of the cabin in a daze...
What would Aman be thinking of her? sorry note in file?
That laard governor!
He din't see the sorry note and just gave it off to Aman without even seeing once?
By then,khushi had reached her cabin...
she flopped down on her chair and opened the file and a note caught her attention!
DON'T WORRY!
YOUR APOLOGY HAS BEEN ACCEPTED!
AND BY THE WAY,I DID NOT GIVE THE FILE TO AMAN!
YOUR BOSS.
Khushi couldn't believe her eyes...
He was playing her and she din't even realise it?

Ten minutes later khushi stormed into Arnav's cabin and announced'...
"sir...the file which u gave? I have given it to the peone to take 10 copies and send it to the contractors...afterall ye sab kaam toh voh bhi karsakte haina? "
Arnav jumped up from his seat in absolute horror!
"kya??
peone ko?
yeh tumne kya kiya??"
khushi knew that she had got him...
"kyu sir? kya hua? kuch problem?"
Arnav ran a hand through his hair in frustration...
"aur nahi toh kya? I had kept a note for you in that file and...!"
khushi held up the note in front of her and asked innocently...
"was it this one?"
Arnav walked over to her and grabbed it...then he sighed in relief..."haan...yahi! voh main ek second keliye...!"
That was wen realisation hit Arnav Malik...
oh!
she had taken her revenge...
suddenly khushi felt apprehensive...he was surely going to shout at her...atleast throw her out of the cabin!
But his reaction was something she never expected...
he burst out laughing!
khushi was mesmerised in seeing a new Arnav in front of her...
he looks so adoring while laughing...khushi was really taken in by the sight in front of her...something she was never going to forget...!

ASR explained in short the rules and regulations of the game to khushi...
Then,he started with the basic moves of basketball...
"Dribbling the ball and moving ahead at the same time need proper hand-eye co-ordination and focus...your objective is to put this ball in that basket,no matter wat happens! your complete attention should be on that...the rest will follow..."
khushi listened to him and then followed suit...
As they both practised,ASR could see that khushi was easily picking up the techniques of the game,faster than he had expected her to!
she was progressing really well...wen ASR suggested...."ek chottasa game hojaye?"
khushi stuttered...."match? no! maine toh abhi...!"
ASR smiled at her nervousness!
"kyu?
dargayi?
just for fun...lemme c how much u hve learnt!"
khushi immediately became defensive ...she crossed her hands in front of her...
"hum kyu darenge?
teek hai...
hum bhi dekhte hai ki aap kitna acha teacher hai...guruji!"
ASR smirked...!
"k then...lets start!"
5 min lATER...
khushi tried her level best trying to dodge ASR as he tried to block her path,leading to the basket.
she felt happy as she realised that though initially she had found it difficult to keep the bouncing ball under control,now it was coming naturally to her,with ease.
The only problem was ASR's intense gaze on her which was a bit distracting...a bit? a whole lot distracting!
she kept dribbling the ball as she tried to curve her way past ASR ...
and she had almost succeeded wen without warning ASR winked at her...!!!!
caught unawares she completely forgot about the ball in her hand and was so lost at gaping at him that she never knew,when the ball left her hand...
ASR grabbed the ball with his deft fingers and then smirked at the aghast look on khushi's face...
"Mistake baby!" then he moved towards the basket in a swift movement and within a second,the ball was in and ASR had scored his first point!
"cumon khushi! u know u can't beat me right? afterall u just started playing!"
khushi looked up at ASR and smiled before answering...
"we will see about that!
Anyway it doen't matter when you start...wat matters is how you start!"
ASR cocked his head to the right...
"hmmm...k then...
show me!"
As both of them vyed towards each other,khushi trying to pry the ball away from ASR and ASR trying to score another point and seal his win!
That was wen khushi decided to play her card...
she had to even the game out and if he could get away by being naughty,so could she!
purposely khushi moved closer to ASR with the predatory stance of a hunter...
ASR was taken aback wen he felt khushi so close beside him...
he tried to ignore the sensations that were threatening to take over his body and mind...he needed to concentrate at the task at hand...
he tried to move ahead ...
but then!
he never knew wat hit him...
khushi blew a flying kiss to him and that was his undoing!
"Mistake!" khushi hesitated only for a sec before adding"darling!!"
And before ASR knew it,she had scored a point!
"Hey! that was cheating!"
khuhi turned to an indigant ASR,with her hands on her hip!
"oh really?"
Both of them tried to stare each other down and then suddenly,broke into laughter simultaneously!
"khushi ki bacchi! tumhe to main...!"
ASR ran towards khushi and lunged at her playfully,which she dodged!
As he chased her around the court,he realised that he had never been this happy in his whole life!
It was true that he had enjoyed spending tym with his best frnds,but he had never laughed this freely,without any restrictions till now...
It was as if he had been in search of stg,his whole life and now he had got what he had craved for!
Finally when a breathless khushi slowed down,ASR caught up with her...he looped his arms around her waist from behind and lifting her up,swirled her around before putting her down on the ground...
Before the could say anything to each other,the hostel bell rang,signalling that it was time for both of them to leave...
As the both walked in the opposite directions,they couldn't help but glance back at each other and smile!

early morn...hostel!
"khushi!!!!!!!"
ASR woke up screaming,his hand clutching the air...!
karan immediately switched on the room light and was beside ASR in another second...
karan saw that his frnd was sweating profusely and his breathing was heavy!
He poured out a glass of water from a nearby jug and handed it to ASR...
"kya hua?
tum tek to ho?"
ASR gulped down the water in one go before muttering..."I am fine...vahi purana dream,phir se...!"
karan raised his eyebrows quizzically...
"voh dream? phir tumne khushi ka naam kyu liya?"
ASR almost dropped the glass he was holding...
"kya?? khushi?"
"haan...abhi abhi tumne khushi ka hi naam chillarahe the!"
As ASR took in the repurcussions of what had just happened,somebody knocked on the door of their room...
ASR was about to get up from the bed wen karan put a restraining hand on his shoulder...
"It s k! you go and get ready while I see who is there..."
karan opened the door and found the peone...
"principal saab ne aapko aur Arnav Singh Raizada ko unke cabin main bulaya hain...!"
karan looked at his watch and was srprised to see that it was just 6 in the morning...
"abhi?this early?"
"haan...voh kisi baare main tum lok se baat karna chahte hain...abhi bulaya kyu ki saab ko aur kahi jaana hai, aaj subah kisi sinsile main..."
karan nodded his head...
"teek hai...hum abhi 10min main aathe hai!"
