OS: A series of sweet encounters
My fingers were itching to post something after reading all the wonderful work posted by the lovely Arshi shippers, so I thought what the heck, why not give it a shot!? I'm afraid it won't be anything great, just something that has been playing on my mind.
As the title suggests, I might plan to extend this initial OS into a series of OS(s), all which takes place in the span of day. Depends on whether or not I get the time to continue with it. The OS takes place a few days after the delightful kiss Arnav plants on Khushi's cheek. Though I'm not fond of dramas that insist on dragging certain plot points, this is one drama that I wished prolonged the flirtatious moments between Arnav and Khushi, especially after the kiss, which softened both the characters to the point that I'd just melt watching them on screen! Damn you Shyam!
P.s. This turned out to be a lot longer than I expected! Apologies if it ends up boring you to death!

First encounter: Me, you and RM
"Khushi!!" yelled Payal. "Wake up! Aren't you supposed to go to Anjali Ji's house today!? You're going to be late!"
"Huh" responded Khushi, sleepily. She tried to force her eyes open, but failed miserably. Her arms flapped around aimlessly, trying to block out Payal's muttering, when suddenly, she zoomed in on the time ' 9AM. Her eyes widened in shock.
"Hai Devi Mayaa!" she cried in panic. How could she have forgotten? She had promised Anjali Ji that she would give her a hand to prepare for next week's havan. A lot of people were expected to come, and preparations had to be done in advance.
"Anjali Ji's going to be really disappointed! I promised her I'd be there for 8am, she irritably cried to her sister. "Couldn't you have woken me up earlier" she harped on whilst battling with her maroon churidaar dress, which was now stuck at her waistline. Payal rushed over to pull it down, whilst Khushi manically tried to tame her hair, managing to tie it in a loose bun. Before leaving, she paused only to apply a thin line of kajaal and to kiss her di goodbye. Payal sighed, as Khushi breathlessly returned to grab her decked out 'thela' which Payal already had in her outstretched hand. Khushi grinned at how in tune her sister was with her daily antics.
...
A huge sigh of relief escaped Khushi as she reached the Raizada mansion, and in good time as well, considering how much she had to rush. She gradually made her way up the steps, pausing only to catch her breath which was now returning to normal after all the rushing about. Just as she was about to knock the door, her heart started beating erratically. Khushi froze wide eyed as she recalled her last encounter with Arnav ' dhak dhak, dhak dhak, dhak dhak, her heart continued to beat in unison with her memory, which was now fresh in her mind. Forcing her eyes shut, she spluttered,"Hai devi mayaa, please, meri raksha karna!" She kept her eyes closed, in the hope that the memory would erase itself. But all was in vain, the harder she tried to escape the memory, the more vivid it became. Her breathing sharpened' She sensed his presence close in on her, as he pulled her in with one swift movement. His lips hovered close to her jaw line as she held onto her dupatta with dear life. Reflecting their close proximity, her gaze stood transfixed at the pool; the other end of her dupatta wrapped around his rugged hands. Sensing his eyes travel up and down her pulsating neck, she swallowed, involuntarily. She was held captive. Without warning, her heart leapt, as his soft lips pressed themselves against her cheek. intense heat filled her veins, rushing to claim her heart. His lips lingered against her skin, a moment of intimacy that was both powerfully delicate'
dhak dhak, dhak dhak...her eyes flew open. Mind racing, she brought her hands over to her chest in an effort to calm it down, forcibly blaming it on acidity. Her hands reached out to knock the door a second time, when suddenly it swung open. Unaware of the door being opened, Khushi brought her hand up to knock again, almost taking out Arnav's eye. His quick reflexes blocked her hand from knocking out his face, as he grabbed hold of her wrist in good time. The sudden contact jolted Khushi back to reality. Expecting an onslaught of "what thes", Khushi nervously glanced up at his face, and then slowly back to her wrist which was enclosed securely in his grip. Strangely, she felt protected by his strong hold; his hands continued to mould firmly around her wrist, unwilling to let go. Khushi heard herself gasp, only to be overtaken by a bout of nervous hiccupping. She brought up her free hand to block out the hiccuping, which seemingly grew louder by the second. No sooner had she raised her other hand, Arnav swooped in quickly to grab hold of it. He now had full reign of both her hands, which were now raised in the air, held by his firm grip. Refusing to meet his eyes, which were now smiling at her mockingly, he hoarsely whispered, "Miss me?"
"kon hein Chote?" enquired Anjali. Breaking their gaze, Arnav reluctantly loosened his grip on Khushi's wrists. She let out a sigh of relief, which wasn't left unnoticed by Arnav. He mischievously revelled at his own advances, knowing the effect he had on her, but equally, not dismissing the effect she had on him. He stood at the door, tracing her every move. She blushed, sensing his heated gaze.
"Namaste Khushi Ji, you've finally come!" exclaimed Anjali, who was excited to see her. Khushi smiled broadly, happy to be of help to Anjali ji. "Sorry Anjali ji, woh...I got up late...so... trailed off Khushi, noticing the large tote bag in Anjali's hand.
"koi baat nahi, Khushi Ji, at least you've come. And I feel much better knowing you're here to help out with all the preparations!" replied Anjali with great affection.
Arnav continued to stare at the two of them with doting eyes, not missing a single expression on Khushi's face. Just then, she met his gaze, causing his heart to accelerate faster...dhak dhak, dhak dhak. He breathed heavily, not wanting to make it obvious how she affected his very soul. After all, he was enjoying the affect he had on her far too much to make it mutual.
"erm, are you going somewhere Anjali Ji?" demanded Khushi with a quizzical look on her face.
"Oh yes! I forgot to tell you, myself and nani ji have been invited to attend a pooja- held by one of our relatives. So, I'm afraid we will have to leave...but don't worry, we'll be back by evening. Oh, and I've left you a list of things we need to start preparing for...so hopefully, you shouldn't have a problem. Retorted Anjali, rather sheepishly.
"par'" cut in Khushi, growing anxious.
"don't worry Khushi Ji, just treat it like your own home, besides Chote will be here if you need help with anything" Anjali replied quickly, sensing her panic.
"Wohi to problem hein...that laad governor will be here" muttered Khushi, forgetting he was right there.
Arnav looked over at her with an amused look on his face, he could sense her fear, or rather her nervousness over their last encounter. Something told him that if it was playing on his mind, it was surely playing on hers...he suppressed a smile, watching her trying to worm out of her way of staying at the RM. He waited patiently, knowing the outcome.
Khushi looked to Anjali Ji with pleading eyes, struggling to come up with a good enough excuse that would let her off the hook. She gave in. Unknown to Khushi, Anjali basked in her own victory, that she and nani ji had conspired. Anjali recalled the conversation she had with nani ji the previous night: "there's definitely something going on between the two, but how do we find out?" asked nani ji, excitedly.
"lets give them some space. Their reaction towards each other will confirm the rest!" gleefully replied Anjali."
Anjali gave a knowing smile, glad to see that her plan was working. She looked towards her brother, who unabashedly kept his gaze on Khushi. Anjali let out a mischievous giggle, forcing them both to turn their heads in her direction. Khushi looked on nervously. Arnav glanced in Khushi's direction then back at his Di...
"Kya huwa Di?" he asked with a puzzled look
"nahi, woh, I was just thinking, what about you?" she quickly recovered.
"what about me Di?" he answered, dubiously.
"I mean, will you be ok? I won't be here to remind you about your..."
"Don't worry about me" he cut it grinning, "Khushi hein na...aur iski devi mayaa, meri raksha karne keliye" he uttered with utmost confidence.
Their eyes locked, anticipating their next encounter...
