"What's so funny!" NK said starting to feel left out of the joke...
"Oh nothing Nahneji..." Payal said calming herself...
"Payal? Are you going with Khushiji tomorrow?"
Akash had entered the kitchen...
"I was going to, but Di has asked me to go to her Doctor's checkup with her...so it's just Khushi going to visit Amma and Buaji..."
"oh God...I think they're coming...I hear footsteps..." NK was twitching and looked as if he would jump out of his skin...
Akash just stared at NK and asked..."what's the matter with him?"
And again, laugher echoed throughout the kitchen...
"What's funny?"
All eyes zoomed in on Khushi as she waltzed in looking fresh and happy...
Anjali was just about to speak when Arnav appeared behind Khushi...
"AHHH!" NK cried out seeing Arnav walk in...
Startled, Khushi jumped back colliding into Arnav who steadied her...
His bewildered eyes shot up to NK..."What the hell?"
The all the laughter that followed, Anjali said between breaths..."I don't think I've seen anything funnier than this...!"

The next morning...Arnav readied himself for work, all the while taking glances towards his sleeping wife...
He woke Khushi with a kiss...
She grumbled quietly for being roused...
"what can I say, you're my alarm clock jaan..." Arnav grinned against her lips...
"why does that make me feel like I'm being used..." She licked her smiling lips.
"Oh, but being used has its advantages," he continued with a wicked grin
"Dare I even ask what those advantages are?" Khushi said skimming her fingers along his face...
For a moment he only gave her his almost smile, and tilted his head down and stared into her dark eyes...
His eyes twinkled, catching up at the corners.
Arnav Singh Raizada could be dangerous, no doubt about it.
His full charming smile caught her breath.
"Do you really want to know?" he asked, his voice low and deep.
Completely entranced, she mumbled..."Yes... No... Probably..."
This time a laugh rumbled out before he tapped her nose. "Yes. No. Probably?"
"Oh, God, did I say that out loud?"
Again his chuckle vibrated the air between them.
"You're cute when you're flustered." and he pressed his mouth hard to hers...
Banging on their door broke their kiss...
"Bhai...You had better be ready to go!" Akash yelled...
Arnav rolled his eyes..."I swear, he's becoming more and more like...like..."
"You..." Khushi smiled and pursed her lips...
Arnav narrowed his eyes with intent, "you..." he kissed her neck..."my love..." kissed her harder..."will pay for that..." he brought his eyes to hers..."Later..."
More loud knocks...
Arnav reluctantly got up and charged to the door...quickly looking back at Khushi who said, "Can't wait..."
...
Khushi happily sauntered downstairs..."Jiji! Today we see..." she quickly stopped...
"Khushi...I am sorry, but you'll have to go by yourself today...I told Di I'd go with her to her final checkup..."
"Oh...not a problem...that's just as important..." Said Khushi smiling happily...
"khushiji...thankyou for understanding..."
Turning round she saw nani, Anjali and NK...
"But! I have an idea! Nahneji hasn't seen Buaji for such a long time, why doesn't he take you!?"
Khushi and NK glanced nervously at each other...
"that's a good idea Anjali bitiya, Chote is at the office...And his jealousy shouldn't stop you two being friends.."
"Khushiji...Nanav won't kill me will he?"
"Don't be ridiculous Nahneji...he's harmless..." Anjali said smiling...
...
"Why isn't she answering..." Arnav thought angrily...
He had tried to call Khushi during his lunch break...
Finally calling Anjali, he got the truth..."WHAT!? With NK!?"
"Chote! Stop this nonsense...Khushi is YOUR wife, and NK knows that...he is FRIENDS with Khushiji...and I didn't want her to go alone, so it was ME to suggested that they go together..."
"...you..." Arnav tried to get his anger under control...
"chote, I know you have been through a lot with Khushiji, but believe me...there is no one she loves more than you..."
"How is she getting home?..." his voice was quiet.
"I will send the car back for them now..."
"No. I will go..." and with that, he disconnected the call...

"Nandikasore...I thought i'd never see you again...I'm so pleased you chose to visit today..."
Khushi couldn't keep the grin off her face...Buaji had been smitten with NK from the beginning...and he was as equally terrified of her...
"yyyeesss Buaji...I..I had to come to visit...And I couldn't let Khushiji come alone..."
"So caring! So sweet!" Buaji kept patting his arms making his entire body twitch with nerves...
"Amma, Di would have sent the car by now so we will have to be heading home soon..."
"Khushi..." Garima approached her..."I am sorry for all ...all that..."
"No amma...not more talk of that...ever again..."
As the ladies hugged emotionally, Buaji turned to NK and motioned for a hug...
Smiling, he hugged her and buaji squashed him...
"Khushi! Help! I need you!!!"
Garima and Khushi laughed...

"Khushi...I need you..." was all Arnav needed to hear...
His pulse raced, his mind exploded...
Bursting into the Gupta house, everyone was stunned to silence.
"Khushi. What is going on here!?" he said loudly in her face, his expression questioning.
"Um. Sorry?" she muttered.
Arnav's eyes scanned the room and saw the innosense of the situation..."ah...I...I...I came to take you both home..." he said in his soft rumble of voice.
Her displeased look said all he needed to know. She could feel her face flaming
Arnav's expression, one brow cocked, one lowered, said he was trying to figure her out...
"Thankyou both for your hospitality...Namaste..." NK backed out of the house as fast as he could...
"I think you frighten him..." Garima said to Madhumati...
"Buaji...Amma..." Khushi looked at them both...
"We love you...Go...we shall see you again soon..." Buaji smiled...
After one final embrace, Khushi turned and stared icily at Arnav...
His hand was held out to her, and she simply stared at it.
His sigh filled the air between them.
She was about to storm past him when the kind "goodbyes" from her family to her husband calmed her anger slightly...
"Thankyou for taking such good care of her..." Garima said thankfully to Arnav...
"Namaste..." He said then brought his gaze back to Khushi...
She put her hand in his...Her breath caught in her throat as his hold on her tightened...
Such a simple thing, a glance of fingers on palm, but her entire being had suddenly awakened.
Nerves no longer calm—they reeled as blood pumped through her veins.
"What is he doing? Does me being around NK bother him this much?" She blinked, staring at her husband's strange complex expression...
The drive home was easier than she expected...NK had politely asked easy questions, and told her of his activities from the past few months...
Arnav pulled into their driveway...
Nk hopped out as fast as he could, fearing to look Arnav in the eye...
Khushi saw him bolt away and turned to Aranv..."What is the matter with you!? Do you still not trust me? Did what i said to you last night mean nothing to you!?"
Her husband pushed all her buttons and made her want to either strangle him or kiss him.
"Khushi...I'm sorry." he said softly..."I will NEVER like you being around another man, but I do trust you...and that is why I didn't create any further problems..."...he looked up to her.
His hand came up and grasped hers.
"I truly am sorry..." he exhaled..." shall we go in?"

During dinner that night, he held her hand under the table...
She liked this, sitting here talking with family with her hand clasped in his.
The smells of the meal mixed with his spicy cologne...
Arnav turned to Khushi and saw she was in a daze..."Talk to me." His quiet voice was cajoling and persuading, no impatience, no teasing jibe.
Her senses now alert, she looked up, her eyes narrowing, "why?"
A cocky grin danced up to crinkle the corners of his eyes. "Because you can't resist me?"
Khushi only smiled and shook her head at him.
She captivated him.
Arnav hardly tasted the food he put in his mouth, though he did know it was good.
Her voice, her smile, her laughter all waltzed around him, and it wasn't just him.
He saw how happy his family had become since she entered their lives...
Seeing her glass empty, Arnav poured her water and passed it to her...
She took it, and just like before, like all the other times their skin had met, lightning seemed to jump-start his system.
Blood raced and all he wanted to do was kiss her...
"Thankyou..." she said smiling... her smile causing his blood to simmer.
Her hand was still in his.
He circled the back of her hand with his thumb and felt her shiver.
Once they had finished, Khushi and Payal began clearing as the rest of the family dispersed throughout the house...
He stood and pulled her slowly to him...his hand caressing hers...
In the dim light her eyes looked darker... "You're an incredible woman Khushi... I know that you don't like me very much sometimes...but for some masochistic reason, I like that about you. I love everything about you..."
"...Ar...Arnavji...I..." Her voice, when she whispered, was sexy as hell, almost dangerous.
He leaned in and set his lips to hers.
Her lips were warm and smooth beneath his.
Soft as satin.
A simple taste would not suffice.
He wanted to feel all of her against him.
She tightened her hold on his hand, as he wound her other arm around his neck...
A sigh from her mingled on the edge of his mouth, moist and heated.
Arnav licked the corner of her mouth with his tongue even as his other arm wound around her back and he lost his hand in all her long silky hair.
She sighed again and he angled his head to deepen the kiss.
He had to taste more of her.
She tasted of Honey and salt, fire and ice.
Khushi was a delicious dessert made with contrasting flavors.
Their tongues danced and mingled as they both held each other... . . .
Kissing her was like nothing he'd ever experienced and nothing he wanted to forget...
Finally, he pulled away, rested his forehead against hers..."I have to go over some accounts with Akash...but I won't be long...I want you later...okay?"
"what?" she muttered feeling confused...
His grin allowed a chuckle out.
"Definitely not in control now, are you sweetheart...i have to work with Akash for now...but I want you..." He glanced at her lips..."later..."
"Oh..." Her lips held that vowel out, and he wanted to kiss her again...she leaned closer and breathed her answer..."yes..."
Her words whispered against his lips made him long for another taste.
Just one.
"good." he ground out, then he dove again.
There was nothing gentle about this kiss, both wanted it, both gave into it and both took from it.
Her arms tightened around him as his did around her.
He leaned into her warm, pliant body.
He reacted instantly to their waists contacting, to the feel of her soft breasts crushed against his chest.
He licked the roof of her mouth, felt her shiver and let his hands roam up and down her back, feather light.
She arched, sighing into his mouth. He could feel the ridge of her backbone, and as he dipped into the base of her spine...
When they pulled back both were panting. "God, woman..." he snapped at her...
Her laugh, husky with passion, swirled between them.
He'd wanted to explore her body further, but that would have to wait...
On a resigned sigh, he disentangled them.
Her grumpy look was completely adorable.
That pull of brows that left the faintest frown between them. "Later Sweetheart..." He tapped her chin with his finger before he turned and walked out just as Payal walked in...
