Part 8

Arnav goes out and talks to his driver, who is outside now all the time in case Arnav needs something to get from anywhere. Arnav has a chat with the driver and driver leaves. He comes back and hands the bags to Arnav in the room.

Arnav opens the bags and takes out the first thing. It's Hanging stars, Golden ones. He puts them over Khushi's bed hoping that she will feel safe with these around her. He takes out another thing from the bag. It's his mother's kangans. He places them on her wrists and slides them with much love, kissing her fingertips, then her palms, then her wrists…nothing, she is feeling nothing… he gets up and goes to the sofa where a little bag is kept. He finds glitter, and flowers and jalebis inside it for the moment when she'll wake up, he'll feed the jalebis to her, and adorn her with the flowers and glitter just like her dream (payal had told arnav about khushi's dream that only a man who would put flowers and glitter on her would be her love). He was certain now that he will not rest until she is awake. He has till tonight until the life support machine came in, so he was determined to invoke a movement in her somehow, anyway.

He went and kneeled beside her, held her hand and kissed it lightly saying, "Khushi, now I will only remind you of all the happy moments, you will only remember the happy moments Khushi, nothing else! Khushi you will be khush again. Khushi I want to say sorry that I said I couldn't share the same air as you, khushi I want to, I do, please breathe khushi, I know you're not breathing because you know I would get angry but khushi I wont I promise you, I want you to breathe. Saying this, he presses his lips onto hers. He feels nothing, sobbing he takes them off and says "See Khushi, we will breathe together, we are one, please come back to me, my life…Please don't be afraid, I will never hurt you, never, never make you sleep on the floor ever again, even if you don't want to sleep with me after all this, I will sleep on the floor but you will be on the bed khushi, I promise" Squeezing her hands and shoulders trying to wake her up, now screaming and crying "Please wake up, Khushi, pleaseee"

Its afternoon and the sun is shining sharply in their room. Arnav still holding her hands whispering happy moments spent with her. Khushis family enters and Arnav gets up.

They do the same everyone has been doing until now, asking for her forgiveness and asking her to come back to life. Her dad, a paralyzed month for months now, actually gets up and goes and picks up her hand and says to her to come back, and that she is still his daughter and he couldn't shut up Garima and Madhumati when they were scolding her before, but he knows she wouldn't do such a thing if it wasn't for something else and that he is very happy for her..He continues "Bitiya, Look your husband, Arnav Babu is trying so hard, look how much he loves you, bitiya please come back"… begging and pleading her to wake up. A drop of tear comes sliding down from Khushi's left eye and Arnav is the first one to spot is, He is shocked. Other family members also spot it and are smiling now, thinking she is fine now. Madhumati and Garima both hold Shashi's hands and help him to the sofa.

Meanwhile Arnav is already running out of the room calling for the nurse.

The nurse comes and checks Khushi…

Nurse: "Mrs. Raizada is able to feel all of you, sir, we already told you. She is living but she doesn't want to wake up. She is pushing herself to the other side, you just have to make her believe that this world is still not able to give her up"

Arnav's determinations strengthen and he is ready now more than ever to get his life back. Arnav goes over to Shashi Babu..

Arnav sobbingly says: Babuji shukriya and hugs him

Shashi hugs him back and tells him that there is nothing to worry about as if Khushi has a loving husband like him, she will wake up soon.

Then Khushis family leaves and gets back to his work of trying to wake up Khushi.

It's nearly evening and Arnav is still trying to wake her up… The doctor enters

Doc: Mr. Raizada, tomorrow early morning we will check her vitals again and if she is not responding by then, then we will have to transfer her to life support machine.

Arnav: Doc, a tear came down her eyes in the afternoon

Doc: yes the nurse told me, but that's an unconscious reponse, we need to see a conscious response from her, then only we can be sure that she is fighting for her life.

Arnav nods and instructs doctor to not disturb him through the nightime and doctor leaves

Khushi still lying there without movement, without any emotions, Arnav now angry more than ever, just wanting to wake her up somehow. He continues with his efforts..And the sun sets at its usual time…Arnav now exhausted from his efforts, kneeling down besides Khushi's bed, his voice fading and his eyes tired…He picks up her blanket and slides into the bed with her. He puts his arm around her and turns to side and just looks at her, her glowing skin now fading, and no sign of smile on her face, her face looked so empty, no sign of any emotons. He cries saying to Khushi "Khushi, I know why god is giving me this punishment. All of us, your family, my family, most importantly ME, we all have hurt you a lot and we all deserve a punishment, but Khushi please don't leave us, give us punishment, we are ready to accept any punishment but please don't leave a hole in my heart. Saying this, he just hugs her tightly, and feels Khushi slightly moving, her hands now moving, her fingertips definitely moved, he felt. He looks up at her face and sees her forehead getting tensed. He whispers "Shh, Khushi I am not hurting you, I want to love you, Khushi I want to love you, please come back to me" and places wet kisses all over her hands, arms and her face. Khushi's hands move again. He holds her hand now sitting up in the bed...he could see Khushi being pulled towards this side, so he wanted to strengthen the bond…He whispers "Khushi, will you please marry me?" and kisses her hand..Khushi's fingertips slightly move as if holding his hand in acceptance of marriage but there is no strength in her body. Arnav with his other hand firms the hold of her hand with his hand and kisses her forehead "I know your answer, and I love you, I will never hurt you, please come back to me, please, I can see you moving, please open your eyes Khushi, please come back to me"…saying this, he hugs her back and kisses her neck sensously and can feel her responding now, but no conscious response like the doctor said.

Laying next to her, he whispers into her ears "Khushi today Akash said its because of others hatred you're not coming back, but I know its all my fault, Akash doesn't know that even I hurt you a lot. Khushi I have hurt you a lot, but I promise to love you milllions time more than that, please come back to me, khushi please"…Arnav now exhausted from all the repeated ways of making her respond now starts to faint and just lays next to her in exhaustion still whispering "I love you Khushi, please come back to me" continuously and just faints lying next to her, his hand still holding hers in a tight hold…
