The Celibates - Part 3
The recently lipoed aunt sat holding court in the seating area of the living room. Her friends surrounded her, two middle aged women she'd struck up friendships with at the salon, a couple of other old bats who she didn't really care for, but tea for three was never socially acceptable. The aunt was not quite pleased with the other two, for they had done the unthinkable and dragged along their teenage daughters to the hi-tea, and while both the young ones looked quite presentable, if not a little beyond bored, they were still not completely welcome, causing the other women around to feel as if they could not properly partake in their usual gossip, lest the ears of the innocents burst. Still, as time progressed and more than a few dozen samosas were consumed after generous helpings of bhel puri, the conversation naturally turned towards what it had been itching to turn to for the last hour and a half. "Where are the evil ones right now?" Asked the hideously clad woman to the aunt's left, her 250lb frame positively quivering with anticipation for a nugget or six of information which would keep her glued to her newest Nokia cell phone for the better part of the night, while her husband feigned sleep to avoid conversation, which he for some reason referred to as nagging.
"They're getting ready to go out." The aunt replied, attempting to roll her eyes in disgust, yet again failing. "The consort mentioned something about a picnic." She said disgustedly.
"Ohhh how romantic!" Squealed one of the teens, her pimples glowing as her face flushed with excitement.
Ignoring the stupid child, the women glanced at each other, looks of complete disapproval vivid on their overly made up faces, the foundation cracking as they indulged in various expressions of disgust, and the other teen sitting across silently wished they would invest in Maybelline instead of the cheap rip off they preferred for their puffy faces.
"It is unbelievable how that marriage is working out. Just unbelievable!" Exclaimed woman number two, adjusting a rather large necklace under her third chin.
"I don't understand it. That girl has absolutely no respect for the institution of marriage. It's a wonder how you all tolerate her in this house. As for her husband..."
Every woman felt a shudder go through her spine, while the face and body of the evil one flashed through their minds. The two young teens shifted uncomfortably, crossing then uncrossing their legs, the color rising in their cheeks, as they both stared fixedly at the floor. 'They should have named him Edward.' One of them thought dreamily. 'I hope I get to see him again.' Thought the other. 'And, I hope he's angry when I do... He might just turn into a werewolf and then I'll...' She sighed quite audibly, then quickly clamped her mouth shut.
"The other day I saw them kissing after an argument." Announced the aunt in a stage whisper. "Then he lightly caressed her cheek and told her... " She paused, taking a deep, calming breath. "That he loves her."
Startled gasps and looks of stunned disbelief registered on every woman's face, while the blushes increased tenfold on the young ones'.
"What?" It was practically a yell from the oversized necklace woman.
"I know, it was terrible." The aunt shook her head in severe disappointment. "I thought he would at least bruise her a little, but it seems that boy has lost all his sense of passion, which for some reason doesn't go well with his evil image."
"But, did he at least shove her a little?" Inquired 250lbs. "Drag her up to their room and thrash her? Please don't tell me he let her sleep in their bedroom that night!!" She whispered fearfully.
The aunt looked around at their anxious faces, suddenly afraid of what her answer would do to her social life, how it would ruin her standing in society, but it had been asked, and answer she must.
"She slept in the bedroom that night... With him... In... in... the same bed." They could barely hear her words, but quite clearly her shame.
"Oh Emm Geee, I love him!" Whispered one teen to the other. "He's totally an Edward." She sighed.
"Don't be ridiculous!" Said the other through gritted teeth. "He didn't even show her he cares by getting angry. He doesn't truly love her."
"Of course he truly loves her. It's HER who doesn't deserve him. Imagine arguing with a man like that! It's just not done." Said teen numero uno.
"i hope she slaps him. Maybe then he'll grab her wrist and slam her up against a wall." Teen two was adamant.
"I hope he leaves her and marries someone worthy of his love." Said the first teen scathingly.
"Shut up both of you." Said one of the old bats. "This is a rare situation, and not how life really is, so stop taking it so seriously."
The hi-tea ended when the evil ones put in an appearance, causing instant silence while openly curious looks followed their progress through the living room, and towards the main door.
"Hold on a second." They heard the evil one say to his consort, who was shamelessly walking two steps ahead of him instead of her rightful place of two steps behind. They watched as he stopped just beyond the living areas his gorgeous masculine form in perfect profile to their audience beyond. And then the women and young ones watched in stupefied silence as he briefly glanced over at them, before his hand shot out, grabbing her wrist which he easily twisted, spinning her around and up against him, her delicate form crashing into the solid bulk of his chest.
"Ouch, that hurt!" The consort said in mock anger, pulling her wrist free and waving it before his face.
"I apologize." The evil one replied, looking dutifully sincere.
"That's not enough! You have to kiss it better." The consort insisted, nearly causing three of the women to faint, and both the teens to work furiously to keep their jaws off the floor.
"If that's what you want." Said the evil one.
And, then he lowered his mouth to hers, and the kiss sparked and simmered, sizzled then exploded, while her arms wound around his neck, the kiss not ending for several minutes, before they both pulled away slightly, their breathing shallow.
"Is that how it's done?" He asked the group of frozen, speechless women, and not waiting for an answer, he winked at them then took the consort's hand, and laughing quite loudly, they both left the room.
