Chapter 3- ASR vs. KASR

Anita and I got to the party. Anita was excited from outside, "Oh my gosh!! Look at the decoration!!! It looks so cool! Come on Arnav and stop being such a bore, I'm here because of you." She said pulling me in. My mind was still trying to figure out why the heck she had a laughing attack.

"Khushi!!!!" I turned around, oh crap!

"Anita! Hey babe!! How've you been!!! When did you come back from Australia!!"

"Today, I was gonna come meet you all but my friend called me and he needed me urgently. I owed him for the time he saved me in college by doing my project for me. He's been using that against me ever since!" She laughed. She was looking for me. Oh shit, shit, shit!!! What do I do??

"Anyways, why are you here and not with your friend?" Khushi suppressed a smile. Uggh! Damn you Khushi Kumari Gupta!!

"Actually he's right here, this is what he needed me to do. See he's dying over a girl and wants to get her but the chick's playing hard to get, so he needs someone to get her jealous." Anita said in s quiet voice.

Arrrg!! Anita! Tera satyanash ho!!! Great! This is just absolutely WONDERFUL!!!

"Oh, kahan hai woh?" Khushi bit back her laugh. Haso, haso, sab haso. I am soo stupid!!! Uggh!! She practically knew it was me, but wasn't going to let this chance slide by.

Anita scanned the room for me. I hid under a table. What do I do now??

"Arnav? What are you doing under a table? Bahar ao, I want to introduce you to a friend of mine." Said Anita gesturing me to come out.

I gave a frown-smile. I walked out. I saw Khushi's face turn red from suppressed laughter. I felt like an idiot!

"Khushi, meet my friend Arnav."

"Hello." Khushi said taking her hand out.

"Hello." I said shaking her hand with a frown. Alright Arnav Singh Raizada, here's to severe embarrassment! Huzzah!

"Oh, Arnav where is that crazy girl that we need to make jealous."

Shut up Anita. Shut up. I prayed.

"Crazy?" Khushi said with a raised eyebrow.

"Aur nahi to kya, Arnav even told me he wonders how he fell in love with her. He said she's absolutely stupid, egoistic, stubborn..."

Khushi's head was filling with fury.

Oh god Anita! Bhagwan ke liye chup ho ja!

"...shrewish, a nag, oh and fat too, right Arnav?" She said tapping me on the shoulder.

"Acha?" Khushi said with fury written all over.

I desperately shook my head "no" in Khushi's direction.

"Arre, what are you saying, isn't this what you told me at home?"

Satyanash ho tera Anita!

"Bolo na?" She persisted.

I helplessly said, "Yes."

Khushi spilled her drink on my face. "Sorry, why don't you ask that stupid, foolish, and FAT girl to help you." She said walking away.

As soon as she walked away I slowly turned my head towards Anita. She was smiling,

"Where is she anyways? Call me when you see her okay."

"Yes, yes. Bohot raita phela chuki ho tum."

"What?"

"Nothing, I mean, I think she left. Why don't you just enjoy the party."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes meri ma!" I walked away looking for Khushi.

She was looking into a mirror. "Phshh, I'm not fat! He needs to get his eyes checked along with the rest of his body, I swear if I see him again this evening I will..." She said turning around.

She saw my face, "I will kill him!" She finished rushing out.

"Sorry Khushi! Listen! I was angry that time! I think you're beautiful and very intelligent. I'm stupid, I'm a gadha, I'm an ooloo da patha!" I said calling out for her.

"Tell me something newww!" She said walking towards the women's restroom.

"Wait!! Khushi!" I said as she closed the door on my face. I had to think fast, this situation was getting out of control.

Then it struck me. I smirked.

"Well it seems like what I think still matters to you today?" I called into the restroom.

She suddenly opened the door.

"Don't think I'm mad because of you! I could care less about what you think! I just don't like being called fat, trust me that's a MAJOR insult to a woman!! Don't you have any manners? No wonder all your relationships end in disaster!" She yelled.

"Sorry," I said walking towards her into the bathroom. She took a step behind. "I was just mad that you demanded so much work in such little time and that too with no help." I took another step forward, she took another back.

"Well, welcome to the average AR Industries' workers' lives." She said, even right now she was still all about putting up a good fight.

"I'm sorry. I honestly think you're beautiful, they don't get better than you. Your dark brown eyes which I want to drown into, your cute adorable nose that scrunches up in the cutest way when you sneeze, your beautiful tall and lean body definitely not fat," I smiled. "And most of all, your rosy pink lips which I am dying to get a taste of." I leaned in closer. She widened her eyes. She expected me to make a move or touch her but to her surprise, I took my hanky out and wiped a eyeliner mark on her face, it was clearly a result of doing makeup in anger not controlling the pencil. The clumsy will always be clumsy. She looked at me in shock as if she was expecting something else.

"I guess when you were doing your touch up, you decided to leave a black mark to ward away the evil eye." I said looking into the hanky.

"But don't worry, nothing can harm you as long as I'm here, so there is really no need for this." I said walking out.

She was still phased by this. Annoyed yet spellbound. I turned around once,

"Don't worry I won't even THINK about touching you. My foot still aches from the other day." I laughed.
