Did he not hear her lectures on marriage? Can he think for once how she will defy her principles?
Yes he is in shock and not recollecting her finace's name or that she had never met Shyam. But does he not know that she was in his house for days and days and days and Shyam was never around?
Can't he think for once that it was with him that she was around most of the time?
