Hey people..thnks for the comments..Actually Maan has seen Geet 6 years ago that too he doesn't even luk at her properly..If u read the previous parts u'l knw that Maan is drunk nd thats hw he cums to know about Dhruv..He doesn't even know his name..neither does he know Geet's name..cuz Dhruv calles her chutki..He addressed Geet as Mrs.Geet maan Singh Khurana wen he introduces her to Dhruv..He doesn't even pay attention to both their surnames..That's the reason..Hope I cleared it

Part 22

"Mr.Handa,do you mind showing us around the house?"Geet asked Dhruv.

"You know every corner of the house more clearly than I do,Geet."Dhruv thought painfully.

Geet's coldness was killing him.He knew they were at fault-he and his father.But what did he,as her brother,had to do in it?

He did not even know that Geet and his mother had left the house until the next day.His father had also forbidden him from going in search of them.

"Mr.Handa?"Maan called out as Dhruv jerked out of his thoughts and said,"chalthe hain"

Dhruv was walking forward followed by Geet and Maan.Maan was paying attention to every detail while Geet looked lost.When Dhruv turned around the corridor,Maan pulled Geet towards him and cornered her against the wall.

"aakhir,baat kya hai Geet?Why are you looking tensed?"he asked with worry clearly written on his face.

She shook her head for a no and said,"i am fine"

"No you're not Geet.When you ran towards the car I followed you.But James,who is going to buy the Haveli called me up.I know you're hiding something.What is it?"

She slowly placed her head on his chest and said,"I don't know."

Maan sighed as he cocooned her in his embrace.

"shh"he told her as he sensed that she was crying.

He made her face him as he wiped her tears away.

"Feeling better?"he asked.

She smiled nodding her head.

He said,"You can talk to me when you feel you're brave enough to face the past and courageous enough to tell your heart that the past doesn't matter anymore."

He walked away to follow Dhruv leaving her amazed.

Dhruv opened a very dusty room and Geet felt her heart race in jet speed.It was HER room!!

"Wow!"Maan commented as he looked at the dusty room beautifully decorated in the shades of brown and creamy yellow with balloon lights hanging from the ceiling.

Though the room looked a little bit dusty,it still had an aura which made Maan feel as if he was transported to an amazing fairy land.

He put an arm on Geet's shoulder who was looking at her room after six long year.Every detail looked the same.

"I feel..I feel as I've been her someday!"Maan said lost as he looked around the room.

The feel of the room and Dhruv staring at her was suffocating her.

She held Maan's hand and pleaded through the eyes to get home as soon as possible.

Maan nodded at her and said to Dhruv,"So Mr.Handa,can we finalize it?"

Maan shook hands with Dhruv and said,"Tomorrow james will meet you to finalize the transfer of property" and walked away with Geet.

Maan offered to drive the car.

Once they were seated,Geet asked him,"Maan why is James coming here?"

"James wants to settle down in India Geet.He was very specific about staying in Delhi.So Uncle called me to tell that there were a range of Havelis for sale and that the Handa Haveli was the best.

"He wanted me to go and visit it to give my consent before james arrives tomorrow."

"Oh!"she said silently as they reached home.

The dinner at the Khurana was always a silent affair,but ever since Annie and Maan had began to talk on terms,Annie was filling him up with all these that happened to her-the petty fights she's had with her friends and everything.

Geet's head shot up when Annie declared that her final results were coming the next day.

"par tumne mujhe bataya toh nahi!"Geet complained.

"arre Geet,Annie must've forgotten!"Maan replied as he concentrated on his food.

Geet rolled her eyes and looked at Vicky who was extremely silent from the time Maan returned.

Geet was about to ask him when his mobile rang.

Maan and Annie stopped talking and looked at Vicky.

"Hello?Yes,Anant?What?No ways!!How can they??Tomorrow??I am not coming..Let him go to hell yaar!!Who cares!"

Geet looked confused and raised her eyebrows when Vicky slammed the phone down.

She put a comforting hand on his shoulder as Vicky soberly said,"I have National Match day after tomorrow!"

"Par ye kaise hosaktha?Ab toh aap logon ne State Level win kiya..Atleast two months gap is required nah?"Geet asked him.

Vicky sighed and said,"I have to leave for Mumbai now bhabi..We have warm up sessions there"

Geet looked silent.Vicky took her hand in his and said,"It'll be alright."

Geet forced a smile as Vicky excused himself to leave to his room.Annie followed him yelling that she'd help him to pack.

Maan stared at Geet who was busy playing with her food.Maan got up and lifted her off the chair in his arms.Geet's eyes widened with shock as Maan led her towards his bedroom.

"Maan..ye aap.."she began while Maan hushed her to keep silence.

He slowly laid her on the bed and sat beside her holding her hands in his and said,"Geet I have done so many mistakes in the past.I hurt so many people without any mistake of theirs.I know you are gettinmg confused,but just like you,I have a past too.A past which I never want to open still.

"I know that when we're starting our relationship together,we ought to come clear with the past.I need some time Geet.I need some time to get hold of myself and make a self promise that I will try to understand people better.I know I cannot do this alone Geet.I..I need you beside me-Just like my mother was with my father when they got married.

"All these days,I was a bad son,A bad brother,A bad lover and a bad husband.I want to change Geet.I want to be an ideal brother and husband.Will you help me with this?"

Geet looked at him utterly surprised.She'd never thought this side of Maan would exist.She nodded her head and watched a beautiful smile spread across his face.

She touched his face with her hand and said,"I will be with you Maan.Even if you were a serial killer in the past!"

They burst out laughing as Maan kissed her forehead.

She sat up and said,"If you free me now,can I help my devar with the packing?"

He smiled as he stood up helping her to stand.He watched her go towards the door and then turn to look at him.

There was perfect silence and Maan watched a slight blush creep up her cheeks before she ran away making his heart skip several beats..
