The thing that I caught on, though seemingly insignificant, tells us a lot about their characters. Khushi threw the pillow at Shyam but the clumsy person t t she is it hits Arnav. And Arnav hits it back perfectly at her in one fluid motion.
Yay! I was trying to all cool and whatnot in writing that scene and you caught on :D Makes me quite happy. 😉😆
Anyways to the update:
Of course Arnav will be present at each of Khushi's proposal meetings dismissing the guys as wrong for her and why not? He may not understand his own heart and what does he want but who wants to let go off anything they consider vital in their existence?
I also understand Khushi. If a guy cannot accept her as her own or verbally express it to her how can it be expected of her to make the first move and then make it work for them? She is wise. She moves on to the next best option available. Marry a guy both the families approve.
Thanks for bringing Anand
Do Shyam and Anjali understand? And want Arnav and Khushi to either understand what they actually want or move on to others?
You shall see soon enough what the Guptas and Raizadas know/understand.
PS: Can we have some insight into Arnav's thoughts. He can think about the kiss he shared with her, her importance in his life, etc etc. He may have kissed and dated many but the intimacy and importance of a beloved is on a different level. And esply now that Khushi has agreed to get married.
Haha that was for today's update, so let's see howw it pans out :)
PLS UPDATE SOON
UPDATING SOON! :D Thanks for commenting! 🤗
Chapter 13:
Khushi wrapped the shawl tightly around herself as she continued to walk the streets of her neighborhood. She had been restless at home, where her family was still bouncing with excitement over Anand Sharma and his proposal, but she couldn't bring herself to join them in their happiness.
How could she? The man that she loved had merely sat there the entire time and watched the proceedings, and she needed to learn to let that man go, let that love go.
You're going to get engaged now Khushi, you've committed to marrying another man. Someone who seems caring, who has no issues expressing his emotions, understanding, family oriented. You won't be able to find someone more perfect than Anand for yourself Khushi, she willed herself to believe her thoughts. Anand is your future now Khushi, and you'll be happy with him. All you have to do is give him a chance.
But what if….?
"Khushi, don't question it. You made the right decision. Anand is perfect for you, for this family. He will keep you happy" came a soft voice from behind her. Khushi turned around to see Payal making her way over towards her, a soft, calming smile on her face, a peaceful aura about her.
"Jiji..I..I'm happy. I know I made…" Khushi quickly tried to wipe away the tears that were now streaming down her cheeks, but Payal shook her head sadly, taking Khushi's hands within her own and holding them tightly in front of her.
"Love, you're my sister and you've never been able to lie to me before, so don't start trying now" Payal teased with a smile, before her face turned more serious, "Khushi, I know how you feel about Arnav. No – don't bother trying to deny it. But the fact that you said yes to this proposal tells me that you want to move on in your life. That something isn't right" Payal trailed off.
Khushi didn't respond to her sister for a few seconds, the two of them continuing to walk through the street in silence before finally settled down on a roadside bench.
"Jiji, I want to tell him" Khushi began quietly, wringing her hands in her lap as she spilled her emotions to her sister, the sister who was listening to her quietly yet comfortingly, whose mere presence was a pillar of strength for her. "But I'm afraid. I'm afraid of how he'll react. And if he doesn't love me back, if he doesn't then our friendship will be over. And I don't want that. I value our friendship more than anything else, any other relationship we can have. I'm afraid that he'll laugh it off in my face if I tell him I love him, that he'll think I'm trying to play around, joke with him."
"And I wouldn't be able to stand the pain that comes with that" Khushi continued, the anguish in her voice, the fear, the anxiety, the blur of emotions spilling out in the form of the tears streaming down her cheeks. "I said yes to Anand because he'll keep me happy. I don't know if I'll love him, I don't even know what love is anymore, but I'll do my best to keep him happy, to be the best wife that I can be." And with those words, Khushi broke down completely, sobs escaping her throat as she clung to her sister's arms.
Payal comforted her, hugging her, sharing her sister's pain and sorrow in the hope that this would lead to a brighter tomorrow.

Arnav got out of bed and headed downstairs to the kitchen. Glancing at the clock, he saw that it was 3:00 AM, and he was still not asleep. He had lain in bed for hours, restlessly rolling around from side to side, but sleep was just not coming to him that night. All he could think of was Khushi, Khushi with Anand. How she had been smiling, how he had made her laugh earlier, her expression as she had told her family she would get married to him. This was his Khushi that he was thinking about, his secretary, his best friend. And today she had gone out to pick out an engagement ring.
Earlier that morning, Khushi had come into the office like usual, but she had requested him for a half a day off. When Arnav had questioned her as to why, Khushi had told him that Anand was coming to pick her up.
"He's coming here? Why?" asked a confused Arnav.
"Well, he's only coming to pick me up Arnav. Amma and Buaji and Anand's mom want to have the engagement as soon as possible, and so does Anand. So we're going to pick out an engagement ring for me" Khushi had replied happily, her eyes bright and seemingly filled with happiness. What Arnav didn't realize though was that those bright eyes were actually because of the tears, that Khushi had had to cake makeup on herself earlier that morning so the stress from the night before wouldn't be evident for all to see, for Anand to see.
"Oh and before I forget, I set up an appointment for you to meet Damini Gujral for lunch today. Meet her at 12:30 at the Akbar Restaurant on Palace Road, ok?"
"Woah, you're supposed to come too Khushi. And if you're going to meet up with your Anand today, and are too busy to come, then we can schedule this for another day" Arnav had retorted angrily, snapping his response at a stunned Khushi.
"Why are you so angry Arnav? What would I do there anyways? You're old enough to make a decision about whether or not you want to marry a woman and live with her for the rest of your life. What the hell am I going to do there?" Khushi had responded just as angrily, not willing to give him even a bit of leeway.
"You would do exactly what I did for you at all of your groom meeting events" Arnav had scoffed. "As a friend, you should be there to support me. And besides, are you sure you want to get married to Anand? You don't know the guy. "
Khushi folded her arms across her chest, quirking an eyebrow up at the man seated in front of her, "Support me? Is that what you think you did Arnav? Picking out flaws, the stupidest things ever in every man that came to see me? Every man that could have been my husband" Khushi's temper had shot through the roof at Arnav's last words. The man sat there and believed he was doing her a favor! That he had been there for her. "Of course, that's what friends do right Arnav? Do you not even want to see me married? Are you trying to make life miserable for me? Anand was perfect Arnav. He's everything that I've always wanted in a husband. And he is perfect, he's perfect for me, and nothing you say will change that. And you know what the best part is? You haven't congratulated me yet. Every single person I know has already but you? Nope, not one word acknowledging the fact that I'll be getting married. Damn you Mr. Raizada! What the hell is your problem anyway?" she cried out in despair.
Arnav knew then, that he had gone too far, that he shouldn't have said what he did. He hurriedly got up, and tried to reach out to pull her flailing arms down, to try to pull her into his arms but she pulled away from him, refusing to give in to his touch. And consumed by her own rage, she hurried out of Arnav's office, slamming the door shut behind her.
Arnav started to run behind Khushi but stopped himself, her last words to him resounding in his ears.
"Arnav? What are you doing in the kitchen this late or early?" Arnav heard a sleepy voice coming from the doorway that brought him back to the present, and turned only to find his brother in law standing there, watching him intently.
"Woh…Nothing. I just..I just wanted a glass of water" Arnav responded, shaking himself out of his thoughts as he faced Shyam with a smile.
But Shyam refused to accept his words, shaking his head with a bemused expression on his face as he settled himself into a chair across from him. "Arnav mere bhai, I've known you for over 6 years now. There's no fooling me my friend. Talk to me."
Hi! 😊
Arnav was trying to find something wrong in every guy and somehow convinced the family as well. 😆 This guy, Arnav really needs to think about his feelings towards Khushi. So its settle! Khushi is finally going to get married unwillingly considering her heart. 😔 I am guessing it's not going to go down well be Arnav. 😆
