Phew! Im back finally, lol!
Here goes:
Setting: Angad's bedroom.
Angad stares at Kripa's notes on his desk, amazed. Not only did Kripa put down everything Professor Ganguli had put on the board, but had put her own simpler methods for solving the chemistry problems.
Angad: Kripa, tu tho kamaal kiya! Aab mein dekhta hoon ke kaise mein is class ko fail karta hoon!
Angad jumps up from his chair and starts strumming an imaginary guitar and humming nonsensically.
Suddenly:
Angad's mother: Angad? Betha?
Angad turns towards his mom and quickly assumes a normal body position, but he fails to hide the increasing redness on his face.
Angad's mother laughs
Angad: hi mom, kya baat hai? Kuch chaiye kya mom?
Angad's mother: nahin Angad, baas I heard some ruckus and I came to see whether you were alright, lekin, janaab tho bilkul ok hain, in fact, uh, I can even say, kya kehte hain, haan! rocking haun Angad dude!
Angad: mom! aap bhi na...
Angad's mother laughs and goes to Angad and looks at him in the eye.
Angad's mother: ek ma ki dua hai ke tum hamesha istara kush rahon, hamesha.
Angad smiles at his mom and hugs her tightly, and says: As long as you're with me mom, I'll always be happy.
Angad's mother pats Angad on the back
Angad's mother: aap kaun bare bare bathein kerahe!
Aditi calls from her bedroom: MOM!!!!
Angad's mother looks towards the door and says: uh-oh, aab kya, Angad let me go see what happened with Aditi and you uh carry on...
with a laugh, Angad's mother leaves the room, leaving Angad alone.
Angad looks back at the notes on his desk and smiles sheepishly.
Angad: kuch bhi kaho, is semester mein bohot acha karunga. What say Professor Ganguli?
Angad laughs and sits back down at his desk to study some more.
Back at the Sharma House:
Three people sit in a spacious living room; one hovering over a math textbook, another peering at a single piece of paper, and another one sitted on an individual couch.
Kripa: Kaise hain mom?
Kripa's mom: Kripa kripa, what would I do without you?
Kripa laughs
Divya: Didi is the best mom!
Kripa: uh uh, sharma family is the best!
All three of them laugh.
Kripa's mom: good, now that the guest list is taken care of, ill talk to the caterer and then ill start calling the
guests, and everything should be ok. And...
Kripa and Divya look at each other and smile.
Kripa's mom: kya mein kuch bulrehi hoon...lets see, food, guests...aur kya...
Kripa and Divya smile even wider and suddenly shout: CAKE!
Kripa's mom looks at her two daughters and laughs: Are haan, cake! My God! Im really turning old...
Kripa: dont worry mom, I took care of it. Pop ki favorite cake hai: fruitcake.
Divya: and dont worry, didi and I will decorate the house ourselves.
Kripa's mom: I sometimes wonder how lucky your father and I truly are to have such daughter like you. Mere achein bethes, come here.
Kripa and Divya go sit at their mother's feet.
Their mother kisses each of their heads and for a while, strokes their hair.
Kripa wishes this moment would last forever; her mother's touch was so soothing. Kripa knew right there and then, no one could love her as much as her family, and she couldnt love anyone more than her family. At that moment, that seemed like the truth.
