Right before his eyes a bus came and hit Khushi. She banged her head on the ground. She was bleeding severly. Sid carried her and rushed to the hospital. Arnav who was in his car saw a familiar figure in the arms of man. That person was bleeding severally. It was a girl. The man was Sid? Was she... No that can't be. He was going to continue driving when he saw the hickey he had given Khushi last night on the girl's neck. It WAS KHUSHI! Arnav didn't give a damn about anything. He ran all the red lights and followed Sid to/into the hospital.
"NURSE, DOCTER, ANYBODY?" Sid yelled out
He gave Khushi to the nurse. He held her hand all the way to the Emergency Room. Arnav came in.
"What happened?"
Sid was crying. "Khushi told me she urgently needed to go home as soon as she regained consciousness. I was dropping her off when she realized there was too much traffic. She decided to walk, and I came with her. We were crossing the road when a big truck..."
Arnav closed his eyes. He put his head against the wall. He could never forgive himself.
The doctor came out.
"Doctor, how is she?" Sid and Arnav asked at the same time.
"She is fine and out of danger." The doctor said.
They both took a sigh of relief.
"But.."
"But?" Sid asked.

"Since her head hit the ground so hard, she has amnesia. It would take time to recover because of the very deep injury but it can slowly be cured with therapy." (I'm not the medical one in the family so work with me here. LOL!)
"Can we meet her."
"Yes, but don't talk TOO much about the past."
"Alright."
The two rushed in. Khushi woke up.
"Where am I? What happened? Who are you people."
Arnav couldn't bear to see Khushi this way.
"This is Arnav, your best friend and I am your fianc."
Sid said.
"Today, you told me that you loved me, and I love you too. You met with an accident and hit your head on the ground very hard. This caused you have amnesia. Don't worry though, I'm here." Sid said as he held Khushi's hand and brought it to his face.
Khushi smiled yet looked confused.
"Hello, I'm Arnav." Arnav said.
"Nice to meet you." Khushi said. Khushi behaving around him like a stranger made Arnav feel so bad.

As soon as they came out Arnav asked Sid.
"What did you say in there. She isn't your fianc!"
"I know, but after you left today, she confessed her feelings to me. She told me that she loved me. And honestly, I love her too. I want to give her every happiness in the world." Arnav knew that Khushi thought it was Arnav when she said that but decided not to say anything anyways.
Arnav felt guilty. A girl like Khushi deserved someone like Sid.
"Would you ever doubt her?"
"No, never in the world. The most honest person in the world can lie but Khushi, she couldn't even if she tried."
"Would you ever hurt her?"
"No way, she would be the most important person in my life. I would turn the world upside down but not let her shed a tear."
Arnav closed his eyes, this was best for Khushi. He went back in the room.
"Hey, so how are ya feelin?" Arnav said forcing a smile to his face.
"I'm fine. You are... erm... Arnav right? My best friend?"
"Yup that's me, your best friend." Arnav said with his voice breaking on the last two words.
"Well I'll be leaving. It was nice to meet you again." Arnav said he could not bear it any longer. He hugged Khushi and kissed her on top of her head.
"Wait!" Khushi called out. Arnav turned around.
"At least wait till our wedding, then you can leave. I would really like my best friend to be there with us."
Arnav shed a tear. "No, I'm sorry. I have to go. Hope you have a nice life ahead of you." Arnav said. There he was parting with Khushi forever.

Two years later, Delhi.
Arnav was now 28 and Khushi was 24 (I messed with the ages I know 😆). Everyone in his family moved back to Lucknow but Arnav stayed behind as Khushi's memories were still in that house. Arnav still remembered Khushi every night. He remembered her innocent face. The face that was begging him to believe her. One mistake changed his whole life. How that day played over and over again in his mind. He remembered Khushi on the night they had officially united, became one, physically and mentally. He was living off of Khushi's memories. He had the treasure box which Khushi had kept with her. He had everything that reminded him of Khushi. He would read her old diary all the time. He had probably read the whole thing about a million times by now but still he read through it. With it he felt her presence. *What Hurts The Most by Rascal Flats*
