Part 73

"geet kaha hai?" maan asked walking inside shalini's flat.

"she went back to her home last nigh maan…I tried to stop her but she said she wanted to be home…I was uable to say further and she left" shalini said walking out from the kithen.

"its okay shalini I will go to geet's hose and pick her and come till then u people get ready…will be back soon" with that maan left to geet's house.

Handa Mansion.

"geeet…..geeet" maan came in shouting for her.

"arey maan beta kya hua?" Mr.Handa saw maan coming in and asked.

"ji maine bataya na ki hum log shimla jaraheho to geet ko lene aaya hun main" maan said.

"oh…geet usski kamre mein hai…jao beta" mohindar said and maan walked up staris.

"geet" maan opened her bed room door and saw everything was thrown here and there…and she was sleeping on the bed hugging a pillow and he can see tear marks on her cheeks.

Maan felt bad for not being there beside her when she needed most. He knows she will cry that is why he asked her to stay with shalini but geet is geet…she never listens na.

He slowly went to her and sat beside her on the bed and started caressing her face. With the touch she woke up and sat on bed with a jerk. She looked at him with surprise and he just smiled.

"geet get ready love…its already 9.00 a.m we should start now" maan said.

Geet just nodded her head and left to washroom. Maan went downstairs and joined mohinder in the hall.

After few minutes….may be nearly half an hour geet came downstairs wearing a jeans and a cool tshirt carrying a bag. Maan smiled at her for which she gave a formal smile. Maan know that smile is not from heart. Yet he spoke nothing. He just took her bag and left with her.

Maan opened passenger door for her but she went back and sat at the back seat. He sighed and silently drove to shalini's home where shalini and swayam are waiting outside with there bags. As the car came to a halt before them shalini saw geet sitting behind she signelled swayam to do something and she went and sat beside geet.

"geet plz aagae baito na…mujhe shalu ke saat baitna hai" swayam requested her and geet with no other choice left sat at passenger seat.

Maan mouthed shalini and swayam thank u and they just smiled.

Maan started the drive. But whenever maan's hand touched geet's while changing the gear she just pulled her hand back and maan sighed

'bas…this is enough ab aur nahi' maan thought as he stopped the car with a jerk.

"geet…this is not done…y r u so dull….y r u so silent….whats wrong with u yaar…..whenever I touch u, u were jerking away from me as if I was some fire or something….yeh kya hai geet" maan shouted irritatedly.

Tears rolled in geet's eyes.

"maan…..maan plz calm down" swayam tried to calm maan.

Shalini kept a hand on swayam and swayam turned to look at her she smiled and nodded and swayam nodded his head knowingly.

Swayam bent forward and pressed the button and the top of the car started to open.

He took his guitar from backside and started to play the tune.

Maan smiled and started the car while swayam kept singing and geet and shalini looked at him.

Then maan joined swayam in singing…

Shalini took geet's hand in her's and pulled her seat back and geet fell back. She just smiled at her while shalini shifted more towards swayam and sang….

dheemi si sargoshi

geet sat back straight and maan looked at her lovingly and again tried to touch her hand but she pulled back. Maan became sad and he sang…

then shalini joined him and both sang…..

maan stopped the car and both swayam and shalini got down and pulled geet out while maan smiled at them and got down.

All rounded geet and sang out loud…

Geet walked from them to other side of the road and she looked at nothing and sang…

simti simti saundhi si hai dopahar

maan walked up to her and sang….

bechainiyon me doobi si hai ye leher

she looked at maan…the pain is visible in her eyes…not only pain….something else is there in her….

chhaayi hai chashni par hai koi kami

maan kept a hand on her shoulder but she softly pushed his hand and walked forward…

kho sakoon jis jagah paaya hai tumhe wahan

shalini and swayam walked to them and swayam kept a hand on maan's sholder as if assuring him and maan nodded.

maan again tried and walked to her and kept a hand on her sholder and turned her to him and looked in to her eyes as he sang……

baahon mein leke tumhe kuch na kuch bol dein
chaahat ki nadiyaa mein chaandi ka ras ghol dein
aao na sath do mujhko parwaz do
koi meethi si kaano mein aawaz do

they all pulled geet to the car and they drove to shimla yet geet mood is still the same even she smiled now maan can say there is something amiss in that smile.

Finally they reached shimla at late evening and all were dead tired. Shalini and swayam took a room while maan and geet took two different room in the cottage maan booked for them.

At nearly 9.30 maan knocked on geet's door but there is no answer.

Maan worried a lot and he continued knocking loud but still no answer came.

"geeet….geeet….r u inside? Geet plz open the door….geet I know u r inside….plz geet….open the door" maan shouted a lot but there is still the same silence from inside.

He worriedly pushed open the door and finally he entered in and was shocked to see the state of the room. His eyes hurriedly searched for geet.
