Thanks for the PM..
When Khushi had finally left the room, Shyam had used the opportunity to schmooze his guests, after all his wife had gone to the trouble. He had also made sure to thank his Rani Saiba for helping him with his work. That would send her into raptures and keep her off his back for a while. After a short time he had followed Khushi out and found her by the poolside. She had been alone and he had drunk his fill of the sight. She was an unwitting siren and it had taken everything in him not to steal her away then and there. His twisted soul begged him to make her his, like he had ached to since had first laid eyes on her. He had been a second away from giving in to his urges when Saleh Sahib had turned up.
Shyam had been shocked at his appearance. He had quickly made sure he was still safely hidden behind the foliage of the plant he had ducked behind earler. Once he had made sure he went unnoticeable he had taken note of the odd situation. Arnav's hatred of his Khushi was legendary, so why had he sought her out? Shyam had observed how his brother-in-law had stumbled in his unconscious approach, as if he was drawn to Khushi. Shyam had never seen the two interact and had quickly picked up on what Khushi hadn't. Arnav was attracted to her.
But it got worst. She was obviously attracted to him. This didn't sit right in Shyam's world, where she loved him and only him. Of course, she just didn't know it yet or was too shy. His psychotic fantasy was threatened and he didn't like it.
Things gotten from bad to worse from then on. As they had danced to the music, he had wanted to rip them to shreds. Arnav had the gall to touch his property, to taint his innocent Khushi. He had even tried to kiss her. Only he had the right to do that as her husband-to-be. And Khushi? She had betrayed him with her actions and he would teach her a lesson she would never forget.
But Shyam wasn't stupid, even with hatred eating at him, he knew he couldn't show his hand. If he was hasty, the tower of cards he had carefully built would blow away and he would be left with nothing. Not Khushi and no lovely money from his association with Rani Saiba.
So he had bided his time. Even he had been surprised at his patience after nearly losing control but planning his next move helped. Soon enough he had heard his Rani Saiba approaching, who said Anjali didn't have her uses?
Once Khushi had left, he had also made his silent exit. It was time to get to work.
********************
Hai Devi Mayya! What have I done? Khushi couldn't believe that she had acted so shamelessly. She had let Arnav Singh Raizada take liberties with her, had had him in her arms, had danced with him. She blushed as she remembered the almost kiss. Her heart pounded at the thought of him, at how close they had been. She felt the ghost of his fingers on her arms, trailing up and down and how they had run through her hair. She nearly gasped at the remembered sensation. She was so lost in him she didn't pay attention to her surroundings. Her feet took her down the usual route towards home, and if she hadn't been so wrapped up in him, she would see the beauty of the houses alit around her. Maybe she would have felt the presence at her back.
But she was lost, lost in thoughts of him, the only safe thing she could do when it came to being in his orbit, in ASR's range. She sobered at the thought that he was ASR, not just Arnav. Not just the man who showed her compassion when she needed it. When had she started thinking of the two sides of his personality as different entities? Arnav-ji and ASR. Two sides of the same coin. She could only guess at ASR's reaction at what had happened. Her boss who wasn't in his right mind at the time, would he even remember? Would he even remember what they had done in his drunken state? Did he even realise it was Khushi?
She was disappointed at the thought, she insanely wanted him to know it had been her. Khushi Kumari Gupta, are you crazy? Think how angry he'll be. A shiver of apprehension went down her spine. He would be outraged at her audacity. The aukad and hesiat talk would follow, if ASR had anything to say about it. But she had been wrong and it would be nothing less than she deserved. Khushi was ashamed, she had taken advantage of him, of the situation and that wasn't like her at all.
Khushi heard a firework explode to her right. She jumped and a hand grabbed her arm steadying her. Kushi looked up and saw who it belonged to.
"Shyam-ji! What are you doing here?" His sudden appearance shocked her out of thoughts of Arnav. She pulled her arm out of his hold, feeling uncomfortable with his hard grip.
"I was sent to bring you home. It's so late and everyone was worried when you didn't call". The lies rolled easily off his viper's tongue. He felt like dragging her with him, the thought of her kicking and screaming gave him a sadistic pleasure. All in good time. He had to keep his emotions under wraps for the moment.
"Oh I was planning to call when I left. I'm sorry you went to the trouble of coming to get me". Khushi had so preoccupied with the poolside incident, that she hadn't realised she had left her mobile with her clothes at the Raizada Mansion.
"No trouble at all Khushi-ji, I've brought a car, so we can go quickly and comfortably", he said with a sickly smile. He gestured for her to go before him.
"You went to the hassle of renting a car?" Khushi felt even more awkward with the lengths that Shyam went to, to please her.
"This is on loan form a friend, so don't worry". He appeased her with another lie. The car was another perk of being a Raizada relation. His Rani Saiba, always so helpful, even without meaning to be.
Once Khushi had settled in, Shyam started the car and eased it onto the road. She was quickly lost in her thoughts of Arnav again and didn't note the direction they were heading in. After a while Khushi realised they hadn't reached home and they had been on the road for a quite some time. She finally focused on what she had sightlessly looking at before and realised she didn't recognise their surroundings.
"Shyam-ji, where are we? Are we lost?" Kushi looked at Shyam and the expression on his face was of cold anger, it was as if it was made out of granite. He kept looking forward without even acknowledging he had heard her. A sense of foreboding went through Khushi.
"Shyam-ji? Shyam-ji? Why aren't you answering me?" Still nothing. She would have shook him to get some response, if she wasn't afraid of getting to close to him. It was as if she was sitting in an enclosed space with a hostile stranger. And she realised that was what doing. What did she know about Shyam-ji? Looking back she realised the answer was next to nothing.
"Sh..Shyam-ji?" She was starting to feel really scared of the stranger beside her.
The sound of fear in her voice was the last straw. "Shut up Khushi!!! Just shut up. Or you won't like the result". His true voice had a reptilian quality to it and coupled with the threat, sent real fear to her core.
While she was still reeling, Shyam pulled up to a dilapidated mandir. It was out of the way, surrounded by forest, which may have been reason for its falling into disrepair. As Shyam finished parking. Khushi took her chance.
Khushi opened the door and made a run for the enveloping forest. But all of a sudden Shyam was before her. He had expected for her to run and was much faster than her. She was captured before she had realised and he holding her arm in his painful, bruising grip, which she was unable to get of.
"What is this Shyam-ji? What are you doing? Please let me go!" Her voice filled with the tears, matching the ones running down her face. She struggled against him all the way. But he was immovable. His crazed strength helping him pull her up the mandir steps. Finally, he threw her down onto the ground in front of the idol of her Devi Mayya. He crouched down in front of her. The wild gleam in his eyes told her she wasn't going to like what she was about to hear.
"Congratulation's Khushi-ji, you're about to have the honour of being my wife".
As alway's please read and reviw. Make it an early birthday present. lol 😳
