PART 6
Khushi and Arnav left for their one week trip after bidding bye to the family who were teasing them to the core.
'Mujhe office mein thoda kaam hai khatam karke udhar se nikalenge thik hai?' said Arnav. Khushi nodded her head.
She worried how her family was. She knew Arnav had sent them somewhere safe but she longed to see them. She felt so lonely and missed her sister the most. She sighed and realized the car had stopped and Arnav was looking at her wierdly.
'kya hua Arnavji hum pahunchgaye' she said looking around.
'Haan Khushi humhe pahunchke 5 minute hogaya tum kidhar khoyi huyi ho?' he said.
He helped her remove her seat belt and helped her out of the car. He held her hand as though he was doing it everyday of their lives. She ran to keep up with him.
Arnav took her up to his room. It was renovated since she had left thought Khushi gone were the glass look. It was looking so natural with wooden floors, plants everywhere and there was a tiny waterfall as well. Its so beautiful thought Khushi.
'Yeh door kholde aur udhar aaraam karo Khushi I'll try to be quick' said Arnav.
Khushi looked around inside the private room inside Arnav's office - there was a sofa, center table, tv and fridge and a nice relaxing atmosphere. He had made some changes to this place thought Khushi and sat down on the sofa lost in her thoughts. She did not realize she had fallen asleep waiting for Arnav.
'Khushi utt jao' said Arnav shaking her awake. 'Humein chalna chahiye kafi late ho jayenge warna' he said. 'Tumhare liye ek surprise hai' he said.
She wondered if anything would surprise her anymore thinking about all the happenings in her life. Arnav realized this and looked at her and said, 'Don't worry Khushi you will get only happy surprises from me'.
She moved to get in the car they came. Arnav stopped her hand.
'Nahi isko idhar hi chod denge doosara lenge saaman sab shift hogaya don't worry' he said when she she looked at him enquirngly.
They got into the black car completely tinted and left the office.
Khushi wondered why Arnav had shifted cars and kept looking at him. He was regularly checking his rearview mirror. He spoke to someone on his bluetooth and then completely relaxed.
'Aap baar baar mirror kyon check kar rahe ho kuch problem hai kya' asked Khushi innocently.
'Shyam was tagging us as I had expected him to I wanted to lose him so I made all these arrangements' Arnav told Khushi.
'Don't worry I was just informed Shyam has gone chasing the car we came in which has my manager to meet some client'. 'We've lost him'.
Khushi heaved a sigh of relief. 'Unko pata hai hamari shaadi hogayi phir bhi...' she started and then stopped. 'Jo insaan apni parivar ko dhoka de sakata hai aur
kisiki khoon kar sakata hai woh kuch bhi kar sakata hai' thought Khushi.
They drove for nearly two hours. Khushi realized Arnav liked to be silent mostly sometimes she offered him some water or juice otherwise there was little conversation between them but she knew that his mind was working at maddening speed when he was quiet it was written all over him. They finally came to a tiny farmhouse which Khushi thought looked beautiful.
'Yeh meri friend ki farmhouse hai' hum aaj idhar rukhenge said Arnav and then tumhara surprise bhi dekhlo he said.
They got down and before they could knock on the door the door opened and Payal came out shouting Khushi's name and hugging her.
Khushi was truly surprised and there were tears in her eyes on seeing her family. She hugged her mom and bua and was so happy to see them.
Bua looked at Arnav and said 'Babua tumko meri umar lag jaye hum log Shyam jaise insaan se lad nahi sakte they tumne hamari izzat aur beti ko bachaya. Bhagwaan ko
laakh laakh shukar hai jeete raho' she said.
Arnav did his namaste to them and Khushi and Arnav were shown their rooms. Arnav enquired them whether they were comfortable here and had no inconvenience.
'Koi dikat nahi hai bas yeh sanka devi ki chinta thi aaj usko dekhliye bas ab aur kuch dikat nahi' told Buaji.
They had dinner and it was a festive one which her family had prepared so lovingly for Khushi and Arnav.
After dinner Khushi was lying down on Payal's lap and crying. 'Arre yeh kya kar rahe ho Khushi tumhar abhi abhi shaadi huyi hai mat ro'. 'Pata hai maa kehati hai
sasural jaane ke baad ladki royegi toh mayke mein bahut dukh pheljayega mat ro'. 'Tum Arnav ji se aur is shaadi se khush ho na Khushi' asked Payal looking at her
eyes which had never lied to her.
'Hamari baat chodiye jiji isse accha parivar aur zindagi mujhe kidhar milti' she said evading the issue.
'Aap log kaise ho idhar'. 'Hum log bilkul thik hai abhi tum tumhar pati ke paas jao' said Payal chasing her out to Arnav's room.
Arnav was awake working on his laptop. 'Khushi tum so jao mujhe thoda kaam hai' he said.
'Shukriya Arnavji' she said. 'Kiske liye' he said without looking up. 'For everything...' she said with tears in her eyes.
'Khushi Kumari Gupta ro saktee thi Khushi ASR nahi samjhi kabhi nahi' he told her sternly. 'Jao so jao aur mujhe distract mat karo' he said cheekily.
Khushi ran and changed her dress and slept peacefully today after seeing her family. It was past midnight Arnav had just closed his laptop. He came to the bed and looked at the
innocent girl sleeping. He sighed she looked so beautiful he thought itching to wake her up. The only thing that stopped him was the thought she had been through
too much and it would not be right for him to take advantage when she was most vulnerable. He switched off the light and went to sleep next to her. He wished he
would be able to sleep. The morning sun woke them up and they found themselves sleeping in each others arms just like yesterday. 'How she ended up in his arms'
Khushi did not know. She woke up quickly before he could and went to get ready. Arnav smiled he had not woken up because he knew she would feel embarrassed.
Now he could sleep he thought and went back to sleep.
They left after lunch to Nainital. Khushi was heart broken to see them leave but she knew she had to for her own safety and their own good. Arnav told them that he would keep in touch with them through the mobile and they could call him anytime day or night in case they needed anything. His friend would visit them everyday as well he told them and they need not worry about anything. He promised that they could talk to Khushi as well whenever she was at his office. But to the world they would tell that her family were unhappy that Khushi married without telling them and went far away because of the disgrace caused by her. They waved her good bye as they knew it would be long before htey saw her again.
It was night by the time they arrived to the same place where long ago they had come. 'Hum log wapas idhar' she said.
'Haan pichale baar jhoot boldiye they na ki hamari shaadi hogayi thi usko jhoot ko sach kardetein hai' he winked. Khushi saw that Arnav had too many changes in him now maybe Shyam's betrayal had changed him too. He danced, sang this time with the rest of the folks. They had a game of boys vs girls. Khushi in the midst of all forgot her troubles and started to enjoy herself and she realized that was what Arnav had planned all along.
She was looking at him while he was having his dinner and the young unmarried girls serving him were flirting with him and he was not realizing that they were flirting. She did not like them flirting with him and wondered why.
An old lady sitting next ot her said 'Accha pati mila hai tumhe'. 'Usko acche se khayal rakhna din mein bhi aur raat mein bhi' she said winking at her. Khushi blushed when she realized what the lady implied. 'Jab pati din bar duniya se ladta hai apne biwi aur parivar ke liye toh patni ki farz banti hai usko din bar ki takleefo ko bhulakr sirf khushi ke pal dekhein raat mein'. 'Aaj kal yeh film dekhe sab ladki log bigad gayein' she mumbled.
Arnav and Khushi did not stay the night there this time. 'Meri baat hamesha yaad rakhna betiya' the old lady winked when they left.
'Kaunsi baat' asked Arnav when they were driving off. 'Ji kuch nahi' said a blushing Khushi. Arnav looked at her blushing face but did not ask her further.
They drove for an hour and Arnav stopped at the most beautiful Haveli/palace she had ever seen.
She was to spend the next one week here with her husband. Most girls dreamed of such a honeymoon and she wondered what they were going to do in such a romantic place
alone with a guy who she had mostly fought with but was always there when she was in trouble. It was going to be the longest week of her life she thought and
went inside to check if it was as beautiful inside as it was on the outside.
