Lol. Armaan and Riddhima's little banters do really make me smile. That is so like them <3 Excited to see the transition in their relationship, from hate - love. Looks like AR will be having a very interesting journey ahead of them! Superb Part Mona! Lovely update as usual!
Part 3
After the landing Armaan and Riddhima almost ran out of the plane which had started to feel a bit claustrophobic. They went to collect their luggage. Armaan easily grabbed his single suitcase but Riddhima had to struggle with her suitcases. She was starting to regret bringing so much with her and she knew in her heart that Armaan had been right. Was she going to admit it? No, never! She would rather die! Armaan saw Riddhima's struggle and shook his head. He was not going to offer his help again...not that she would ask for it anyway. She was too proud to accept anyone's help whether it was him or someone else. With Riddhima finally done they went to grab a taxi. The luggage was put back in the boot and both Armaan and Riddhima opened each door on the taxi to enter it. Both went in with so much force that they accidentally bumped in to each other's heads.
R: 'Armaan, tum dekh kar baith nahi sakte kya?!!!' (Armaan, can't you look before entering?) she said rubbing her head.
A: 'Arre yaar, tum mujhe kyon har waqt yehi kehti rehti ke mujh kuch dikhayi nahi deta. Tumhe kuch ni dikhayi deta!!!' (Oh man, we do you keep complaining that I can't see anything. It's you who can't see anything!!!) he said also rubbing his head.
R: 'Voh kya hain na ke mujhe achi cheezein sab dikhai deti hai lekin yeh joh faltu ki cheeze hoti hai na voh dikhai nahi deti. Kisi vajah se meri ankhein unko accept hi nahi kar pa ti' (Well you know I only see things of importance; I'm blind to everything else. Somehow my eyes won't accept anything useless) she said sarcastically.
Taxi driver: 'Err...excuse me. Main aap dono ko disturb nahi karna chahta lekin kya ap done mujhe yeh bata sakte hai ke jana kaha hai?' (Err...excuse me. I don't want to disturb you but could you please tell me where you want to go?) he said a bit tentatively.
A: 'Uh...sorry we are going to...' he started to say.
R: ...Hotel Peace & Harmonyl!!!' she said interrupting Armaan.
Taxi driver: 'Ahhh...toh kya aap dono honeymoon pe jaa rahe hai?' (Ahh...so you are going on a honeymoon?) he said with a big smile.
R: 'Well...err...hanh! Hum vahi jaa rahe hai' (Well...err...yes! That's where we are going) she said not knowing how to answer the question.
A: *mutters* 'Pata nahi honeymoon pe jaa rahe ya hell ' (Don't know if we are going on a honeymoon or to hell)
R: 'Kuch kaha tumne Armaan?' (Did you say something?) she asked gritting her teeth.
A: 'Nahi...bilkul nahi. Maine kuch nahi kaha' (No...nothing. I didn't say anything) he said slightly scratching one of his ears.
R: 'I don't believe you' she said squinting with her eyes.
A: 'Nah mano! Maine kab kaha ke tum mano?!' (Well then don't believe me! Who told you to do that) he said annoyed.
Taxi driver: *laughing* 'Tum dono vakhe mein bahut ladhte ho. Honeymoon achi guzre gi. Kehte joh bahut ladhte apas mein pyar bhi voh utna hi karte hai' (You two do argue a lot; you will have a great honeymoon. It is said that those who fight a lot also love a lot)
R: 'Pyar...?!' (Love?!) she said feeling very nauseous.
A: 'Hanh...pyar...bahut bahut pyar' (Yes...love...lots and lots of love) he said through clinched teeth.
Taxi driver: 'Waise tum dono ko dekh kar mujhe apna waqt yaad aa jata hai. Main aur meri biwi bhi shuro shuro mein aise hi lada karte the...' (Well looking at you two reminds me of when I was young. Me and my wife used to fight non-stop in the beginning...) he began.
He told them the entire love story of how he had met his wife, how they had fought and then fallen in love. Armaan and Riddhima couldn't do anything other than to listen to the taxi driver's non-stop talk. He kept going and going until they reached the hotel.
Taxi driver: 'Oh-ho...main toh aap ki love story ke bare mein puch ne wala tha lekin hum toh hotel pahunch gaye hain. Chalo agar humari phir kabhi mulaqaat hui to bata dena apni pyar ki kahani' (Oh no...I was about to ask about your love story but we have reached the hotel. If we ever meet again do share your love story with me) he said kindly.
R: 'Hanh, hanh...zuroor!' (Yes...of course, of course) she said with a forced smile. *thinking* 'Then I hope we never meet again'.
A: 'Hanh...zuroor bataenge!' (Yes...we will surely share with you) he said while crossing his fingers behind his back thinking and hoping never to meet again.
After paying the driver Armaan and Riddhima got out of the taxi and went in to the hotel. They walked to the reception and waited to get signed in. Their luggage was already taken care of and would be sent to their hotel room.
The receptionist: 'Hello and welcome to Hotel Peace & Harmony! How may I help you?' she asked friendly.
A: 'Hello! Hum Mr&Mrs Mehta hai. Humare naam pe ek kamra book hua hai' (Hello! We are Mr&Mrs Mehta. There's a room booked under our names) he answered quickly before Riddhima could do it.
R: *R glares at A and then looks away* 'Humari toh fake shadi hui lekin ek real husband ke tarah behave karne lag gaya hai' (Our marriage is fake yet he is behaving like a real husband)
A: 'Kuch kaha sweetheart?' (Did you say something sweetheart?) he asked sugar coating the word a bit extra.
R: 'No darling...aisi koi baat nahi' (No darling...it's nothing) she said sweetly but her mind was filled with thoughts of murdering Armaan.
The receptionist: 'Please sign in here Mr & Mrs Mehta' she said friendly. 'And here are your keys'.
R: 'Thank you!' she said and grabbed the keys before Armaan could take them.
Both signed in and went to their hotel room. Their bags were delivered to them just a few minutes later. Armaan gave some tip to the porter and closed the door. Riddhima was already standing next to the beautifully decorated bed and Armaan came to stand next to her. Both stared at the bed and that's when it hit them...hard! They actually had to spend time together 24/7. Eat together, go out together, sharing a small space together, sleep in the same room...sleep in the same bed?! Riddhima felt dizzy and hurriedly sat down on a chair nearby. Armaan went over to the window and started to stare at the (amazing) view. After a few minutes he uttered:
A: 'We need to talk...' he said still staring out of the window.
R: 'For once I agree with you' she said looking down.
A few more minutes passed where none of them said a word. They simply did not know what to do. Working against each other, fighting and competing, making snarky remarks was not a problem but working together, being friendly, saying nice things was.
R: *taking a deep breath* 'Armaan...humein na kisi bhi tarah ek dusre ke sath kaam karna padhe ga' (Armaan...somehow we need to start working together) she finally uttered looking at Armaan.
A: 'Woh toh hai...magar kaise? Hum ek dosre ko dekhte hi humari ladhayan shuro ho jati hai' (That's true...but how? We can't even look at each other without starting a fight) he said turning around to face Riddhima.
R: 'Wohi to samaj nahi aa rahi ke kaise...lekin ek baat toh pakki hai...' (Well, I don't know how...but one thing is for sure...) she began to say.
A: 'Kya?' (What?)
R: '...ke humein thoda bot toh ladhna padhega varna hum dono marjaenge' (...that we have fight a little or else we might die on the spot) she said humorously releasing some tension.
A: *chuckling* 'True, true'.
R: 'Chalo ek baat toh hai jis pe hum dono agree karte hai. Lekin aa ge ka kya karein?' (At least we can agree on something. But what should we do now?) she asked concerned.
A: 'Aa ge ka yehi hai ke hum past ka soche...' (What we should do now is to think of our past...) he said oddly.
R: 'Kya matlab?' (What do you mean?) she asked confused.
A: 'Mera yeh matlab hai ke humein ek solid story banani ho gi ke hum kaise mile, kis tarah humein pyar hua, kab humari shadi hui aur future ke bare mein kya soch rahe hai. Yeh bahut zaroori hai ke hum dono ki story ek ho varna humein mushkil ho sakti hai' (I mean we should create a solid story about how we met, how we fell in love, when we got married and what we are planning for the future) he said calmly.
R: 'Vah Armaan! I'm impressed. Akhir tumne apna dimag istemal kar hi liya. Tumhara dimag bhi khush ho raha ho ga ke uska faiyda uthaya gaya. Bechara baithe baithe kitna bore ho gaya ho ga' (Wow Armaan! I'm impressed. Finally you used your brain. Your brain must be very happy to be finally taken advantage of. How bored it must have been after all those years of not being used) she said teasing Armaan.
A: 'Aur tumhara dimag toh ab tak thak gaya ho ga usse istemal kar kar ke. Woh bhi kehta ho go ke please mujhe bhi thoda sa aram karne do' (And your brain is probably exhausted by now after being heavily used. It's probably screaming for some rest by now) he retorted back.
Suddenly Riddhima's stomach growled.
R: 'Armaan...'
A: 'Hanh?' (Yes?)
R: 'Mujhe bahut bhook lagi hai...hum kuch khane chale?' (I'm really hungry...should we grab a bite?) she asked putting one hand on her stomach.
A: 'Hanh...right khana. Voh bhi koi cheez hoti hai. Chalo kuch kha lete hai. Room service ke restaurant?' (Yeah right...food. We need that too. Well let's eat. Room service or restaurant?) he asked looking at Riddhima.
R: 'Yeh bhi koi puch ne wali baat hai. Of course restaurant! Agar do minute bhi yahan mein rukki toh...' (Do you even need to ask? Of course restaurant. If I have to stay another minute here...) she began.
A: '...toh tum aur bhi ziayda mera sar khao gi' (...then you will eat my brains out) he interrupted her.
R: 'Armaaan!' she said annoyed.
A: 'Kya?! Tumhe ni kaha tha ke humein thoda bahut ladna chahye warna hum dono marjaenge aur mein abhi marna ni chahta' (What?! You said we could fight a little or else we might end up dying and I have no wish to die yet) he said teasingly.
R: 'Hanh, hanh...tum abhi kaha marna chahte ho...abhi to bahut si ladkyian patani hai na?' (Of course...you don't want to die yet as you still have to woo so many girls, don't you?) she said mockingly.
A: Hanh bilkul. Pata nahi kitni ladkyian mera intezaar kar rahi hongi?' (Exactly! I wonder how many girls are still waiting for me out there?) he said making a dreamy expression.
R: 'Aur tumhara itna intezaar karne ke baad tumse milege lekin tumhare munh kholte hi daudh jayengi. Phir woh regret karengi ke tum pe kitna time barbaad kya hai' (And after waiting for you; the minute you'll open your mouth they will run the other way around regretting wasting so much time on you) she said raising her eyebrows.
A: 'Ladkyian toh at least itni der tak toh ruk jaati hain lekin ladke toh tumhe dekhti hi daudh jaati honge' (At least the girls stays for that long but in your case the guys take one look at you and they run as fast as they can) he said mockingly.
R: 'Toh achi baat hai nah ke dekh daudh jaate hai? Is tarah woh ladke joh sirf good looks ke peeche padhe rehte hai aur dimag ke nahi voh hi mere paas aate hi nahi. Mere paas toh vohi aate hai jin ka thoda bahut dimag hota hai' (Well it's a good thing they run as fast as fast as they see me. That way the guys who only want girls with good looks and no brain never come to me. Only those who has a bit of a brain will come to me) she said smartly.
A: 'Pata nahi kis kisam ke ladke hote honge joh tumse milna chah te honge...chote mote chashmish wale?' (Wonder what kind of guys would like to actually meet you...short and fat ones wearing glasses?) he said raising his eyebrows.
R: 'Tumhe kya pata? Tumhari nazar ladkyion ki chest se upar jayegi toh tumhe baki duniya ka pata chale ga' (Well what do you know? If you could look up and beyond women's chest you might actually see something) she said as she walked away.
A: 'Arre tum kaha jaa rahi ho?' (Hey, where are you going?) he asked confused.
R: 'Khana khane! Tum bhol gaye? Aur waise bhi main khana nahi kahongi toh tera sar hi kahongi?' (To eat something! Did you forget? And if I don't eat anything I will start eating your brain) she said annoyed.
A: 'Phir toh humein jaldi se jaldi jana chah ye' (Then we should go there quickly) he said almost rushing out of the room.
Riddhima followed after Armaan and walked out of the room. She closed the door and both went to eat something together at the restaurant.
To be continued...
