I'm back again guys with another update! 🤗Sorry I'm so late. I was being mutilated with needles. Meningitis vaccination on one hand and a blood test needle in the other! MY ARMS ARE DEAD! 😆 Anyhoos..enjoy
P.S:- LOLOLOLOL. I didn't even realise I became a Dazzler. Muaha. I like the new colour. That green colour for goldie was giving me a bit of a headache! 🤣
Part Six
Arnav placed himself on the edge of Khushi's bed. He began to feed her slowly putting small pieces of food into her mouth. When she had, had enough he bought out a large plate of about 25-30 jalebis. This time she took big bites, finishing a jalebi off in two goes. She kept on eating and he kept on feeding.
"Khushi! Yeh tum kitna khati hon? Saari ki saari jalebiyan poori kar di!" and he just chuckled. She gave a what he thought was a tiny glimpse of a smile on her face.
"Finally she's perking up a bit!" he thought. "Ab chalo Khushi. Tumhe ghar mein walk pe le jaate hain. Iss kamre se niklongi to tumhe bhi accha lagega. Chalo ab!"
Slowly he picked her up. She was as fragile as a feather. So frail yet so strong minded. What a woman she was! Taking small steps he held her hand and encouraged her along the way. He took her down the corridor and she just looked into all the rooms. Curiosity getting the better of her she tugged on Arnav's hand as if to say 'Come on...lets go in this room!'
He opened the door to his bedroom and she walked in. It was huge. Nobody went into his room but he'd allow her. She was an exception. Khushi began to walk towards his indoor garden. She opened the door. Arnav was behind her just watching when she said "Arnav" and stretched her hand out. He immediately went over and held her hand leading her down the stairs into his Indian rainforest. She stared with wonder at all the flowers and the water in the pool sparkling as rays of sunlight bounced off the water. It was like heaven. She couldn't believe somebody like Arnav would have such a soft side to him. Placing herself on a chair around a table she just sat there with amazement. Arnav sat on the chair opposite her staring at her and for hours on end they just sat there with each other, at peace with each other's presence.
It was soon 5pm and Khushi was sitting downstairs in the communal area with Anjali. Arnav had been called to the office for urgent work and no matter how much he persisted he had, had to leave. Anjali was attempting to have a casual conversation with Khushi about light hearted things like Lucknowi mithai, saris and all the usual girly things. Although most of Khushi's answers were yes or no she seemed more perkier than earlier on in the morning and Anjali felt as if she'd done well. The doorbell rang, and Khushi felt an uneasiness come over her. Anjali went to open the door and hugged the person there. Khushi couldn't see who it was but she craned her neck to try see past Anjali.
"Jayprakash! Inhe paani dena please. Aur khana bhi laga dena. Bohot thake hue lag rahe hain. Aiye. Bataye, aaj aapka din kaisa raha?"
"Rani saheba aap rehene dijiye aur mere saath bathkar baatein kijiye. Chaliye..."
That voice. Chills ran up the back of Khushi's spine and she shivered as it grew on her who it was. HIM! And what on Earth was he doing here? And most of all, why was Anjali-ji hugging him. Khushi's legs had a mind of their own and suddenly they were carrying her to her room. She ran up the stairs and bolted straight into the nearest room. She jumped into Arnavs bed and pulled the covers over her head. Why was he here? What did he want? And the connection to the Raizada family was one that she had not anticipated. For what seemed like hours Khushi sat underneath the covers. Anjali thought that Khushi had gone to sleep and so had not bothered to tell him about it because she was still in doubt about that name.
When it was dark outside, Arnav had finally reached home. It had been a long wait as all that was on his mind during the meeting was Khushi and Shyam. Shyam and Khushi. Those two names were reverberating around his mind and he couldn't think straight. He walked straight into his room only to find a large bump underneath his duvet.
"What the..." he whispered in shock. He lifted the duvet covers to find Khushi crawled up in a tiny ball. She was holding her knees close to her chest with a blank expression on her face. What had happened now? Before he had left everything was fine.
"Khushi. Khushi. What on earth are you doing here? Mere kamre mein aur mere chadar ke niche? Khushi kya hua?"
Khushi just slightly turned her head. "Woh yahan..woh..woh yahan hai. Iss ghar mein. Mein..mein...mein unko...woh. Sh..shy..shya.." and before she could finished she just collapsed into his arms and let everything out. All that she had been feeling. All that she was holding in. And he let her.
"Shyam. Jiju?" he thought
When Khushi finally fell asleep...again, he went down the stairs.
"JEEJAJI! JEEJAJI AAP KAHAN HAIN?!" Arnav screamed. A disgruntled Shyam walked towards him.
"Saale sahab. Kya hua? Itna mat chilaye. Shant hojaye please"
Arnav only said one thing "Khushi Kumari Gupta. Kahan hai woh?"
Shyam's face was drained of all its colour. Khushi? Why was Arnav asking about Khushi? Arnav hated her, he couldn't stand the sight of her. And of all people why was he asking him about Khushi?
"JEEJAJI MAINE AAPSE KUCH POONCHA! KHUSHI KAHAN HAI?!" Arnav screamed again
"Saale sahab. Aap kaisi baatein kar rahe hain? Mujhe kaise bata honga ke Khushi kahan hai! Maine...maine..maine toh usse..." and he fell into thoughts
"Haan Jeejaji. Boliya. Maine kya. Aise kyun ruk gaye? Boliye. Mein bhi to sunana chahata hoon ke aap kya kehna wala hain!"
"Chote yeh tum kya bol rahe hon? Tum to certain bhi nahin ho na, ke yeh wohi hai." Anjali cut in.
"Nahin Di. Yeh..iss aadmi ne hi woh ghinoni harqat ki hain Khushi ke saath. Mein nahin jaanta ke woh dono ek doosre ko kaise jaante hain. Lekin wahan mere kamre mein Khushi itni dari hui hain unki awaaz sunkar ke woh mere duvet ke niche chupkar roh rahi thi. Nahin Di. Khushi jhooth toh nahin bol sakti na. Aur woh bhi aisi halat mein. Di kuch toh hain. Aur yeh aapke 'pati parmeshwar' bachne nahin wale!"
With this he walked off to tend to Khushi in a fury. Shyam. He wouldn't survive. Nobody survived the wrath of Arnav Singh Raizada. Nobody.
