Padma held Shashank and her responsible for Sid's misery. For her, Sid remained the kind hearted virtuous man who had sacrificed his life and happiness to safe guard her daughter's and their reputation. She blamed herself of being an incompetent mother who failed instill good values in her daughter which resulted in Riddhima paying back Sid so poorly for his grace.

Ever since Padma came to know of Sid's return to Sanjeevani she had wished to meet him once. Not only to check on him but most importantly apologize for what her family had done to him. However, on Shashank's advice she restrained herself yet she could not keep herself from enquiring about his well being with Shashank. She always held Siddhant in high regards which she was very open of.

'Siddhant hamesha se suljha hua aur zimedaar ladka raha. Usme mujhe ek beta dekhayi deta tha. Aur kyu na ho? Ek bete ki tarah hamari har muskil mein saath diya aur itna kuch ho jaane ke baad bhi aaj phir se itna kuch kar raha hai. Isiliye mujhe hamesha laga ki wohi ek hai jo aapka kaam aage bhadha sakta hai.'

Shashank too held Sid in high regards. So when Padma spoke of Sid, Shashank poured out his anxieties in front of Padma.

'Haan par ab toh main sirf uss din ka intezar kar raha hoon jab management Siddhant ke iss stint ko kamyaab declare kar de aur woh yaha se wapis jaa sake.'

'Shashank aap aise kyu keh rahe hai. Kuch hua hai kya?'

'Abhi tak toh kuch nahi hua. Lekin darta hoon kuch ho na jaye. Asaan nahi hota apne kal ko samne har din dekhna. Aisa kal jisse saath dau baar shaadi hone ke baad woh kisi aur ke saath hai. Jab bhi Siddhant ko dekhta hoon tab mera shaq aur bhi yakeen mein badal jaata hai ki unke alag hone ke peeche koi aur wajah thi.'

'Mujhe bhi hamesha aisa hi lagta tha par ab woh sooch ke kya fayada aur waise bhi Siddhant kal mein jeene walo mein se nahi hai. Aap hi kehte the!'

'Mera aaj bhi yahi maanna hai. Agar dekha jaye toh Siddhant aage bhadh chuka hai.'

'Yeh achi baat hai toh phir aap itne pareshan kyu ho?

'Pareshan hoon kyu ki Siddhant ki halat dekhi nahi jaati ab?

'Kya hua Shashank? Paheliyaan mat bhujhai Shashank! Kya Siddhant theek nahi hai?'

That evening again feeling defeated when Riddhima walked into her house she overheard her parents discussing about the person who was occupying her mind.

'Nahi hai Padma..Siddhant theek nahi hai. Usne kaam ko apne zindagi toh bana liya hai woh saare ghum aur zakhm bhulane ke liye. Usne din raat ek kar diya hai sab kuch streamline karne ke liye. Woh jaanta hai kitni ehmiyat Sanjeevani rakhti hai Sanjeevani mere liye aur Riddhima ke liye. Aur issi liye woh yeh sab kar raha hai. Woh accept nahi karega par aaj bhi hamari chinta hai usse aur yahi wajah hai ki woh buri tarah phas chuka hai apne ateet aur farz ke bheech mein. Yeh assignment woh aasani poora kar lega aur yeh uska career bana dega par..'

'Par kya?'

'Par uske andar bache kuche ehsaas khatam na ho jaye yeh sab karte huye isika darr laga rehta hai. Jab main usse pehli baar mila tab uski aankhon mein ek khalipan tha. Par woh khalipan aaj ke uski aankhon bechaini hazar gunna acha tha '. Uske aankhon ki ajeeb si bechaini mujhe pareshan kiye jaa rahi hai.'

'Aapne usse baat ki?'

'Usse baat karna chahu toh bhi kaise karo Padma! Kya muh leke jao uske pass? Aur waise bhi woh kaam ke aage koi aur baat karne ke liye space hi nahi chodta. Maine kaha na usne kaam ko apni zindagi ka maqsad bana liya hai. Pehle laga ki acha hai. He is channelizing his energies positively. Par ab aise lagne hai ki kaam ke bahane apne saare ehsaas dabane ki koshish kar raha hai. Aur yeh achi baat nahi hai. Haar din ek ek nayi ladai ladte huye dekh raha hoon usse. Those words traumatized Riddhima the whole night long. She had to make a break through with Sid. After her first marriage with Sid she experienced the devastation that he went through. Now the situation was worse which implicated that she needed to act fast. Under no circumstance she would allow Sid to walk that path again and for that she would do all required. First of all she needed to proliferate Sid's defenses which were back up for which she needed to get him to talk.

So next morning cleverly citing Sachin's tests as an excuse Riddhima escaped armaan's supervising pick up and headed towards Sanjeevani early than usual.

Due to his changed routine, Sid was in his office early. Sleep eluded him these days and this morning trying to fit an extra meeting in his already loaded schedule had taxed his perpetually stressed mind even further. He rubbed his throbbing temple to ease the headache which he was suffering from the previous evening. His stint was approaching its final stages. Sanjeevani was due for a review any day. It was most likely to be a surprise inspection. He needed to start briefing the various departments to ensure smooth flow in execution. Any short falls could lead to serious consequences. One of which might just be extension of his stay in Sanjeevani which he definitely did not want. As opposed to Riddhima's belief Sid felt his defenses crumbling. Now everything seemed at risk and he was irritated as his problems seemed to be never ending. Last thing he wanted was a headache. He had much to do and this headache would cause serious impediment towards successful meeting his schedule.

So the best option was pop an analgesic and dive into the pool of work that awaited his attention.

Riddhima was exhilarated knowing of Sid's presence in Sanjeevani. His being in early got her hopeful achieving her goal of getting Sid talking and she headed straight towards Sid's office.

Sid downed the aspirin and sat back holding his head. The analgesic was refusing to bring him the desired relief. He anyways felt as if he was fighting a losing battle and this headache was adding to it. That defeated look shook Riddhima's core.

As her father's words rang in her ear anxiety and anger surged through her veins. She had again let circumstances prevent her fulfilling her desire but not anymore. Not giving another thought she charged ahead, having made up her mind to confront Sid.

With each step she took towards Sid's office there was another in tow who quickened her pace.
