Thanks all for bearing so much of a delay in updates...and for being so generous in comments...really that means a lot to me🤗

@all...I know this update isn't giving away the story as such...but after this light part the next few updates will be all past at a long stretch...I'll see if I can add the present in that but mostly it will be all past and I hope I am able to convey the story the way I wanted to without further bringing about the bush...😆 then it will be all present...😃

I know I so end up writing filler stuff...n U'll being so supportive to me always take it with a smile...Thanks🤗

Part 16:

Nupur and Varun were out for shoping. It was almost lunch time when Varun started asking for a halt at it and have some food. Moreover, he was contended that Nupur had first concentrated on his clothes for the party and now the shopping seemed of less importance in comparision to food.

Varun declared, "Mom….NOW, I wanna eat now!"

Nupur tried to explain, since she was busy bargaining for an exclusive handwork on a Bandhni Dupatta for her, "Varun….ya baby, sure we'll go after this one. Just gimme 10 more minutes"

Varun exclaimed, "10 minutes?!! Mom remember you always say we should eat on time to be healthy, right? And now you are breaking your own rule?"

Nupur made face for he was being smart at the wrong time with her. She said, "No I am not breaking any rule Varun! Even I give you 10 more minutes when you say that you are just about to win the game"

Varun considered and repeated her own words to her but in a strict supposition of Mayank, "Okay only 10 more minutes and then I am not hearing a single word from you"

Nupur laughed at his reaction and ruffling his hair she said, "Thank you My Lord" and hurried up with her bargaining part.

Mayank was busy having lunch in his office when he saw Nupur's name flashing oh his phone, he didn't know why but he picked it up in an impulse wondering if everything was fine at their end.

As Mayank said a worried and a slow, "Hello?" he heard the joyful tone of his son on the other end, "Heylo Dad! You know what I had for lunch?"

Mayank was amused and happy at his tone and question, "What?"

Varun shot up all the words in one go, "I had a Gujrati Thali!!!!" as if that was the the most amusing thing, Mayank wondered from when did he started liking it so much considering that he must be having it for the first time in his life. Varun continued, "Like in a big dish which was full of food like the one Akbar(Hrithik Roshan) had in the movie JOdha Akbar!!!! It…It had Dhokla, Chutney, Thepla and …and.." he turned to Nupur for more "And what else does it have Mom?"

Mayank heard Nupur's sweet yet firm but sort of laughing voice in the background and then Varun repeated one word after the other following Nupur's "And khan-davee,and Un-…Undhiya….and umm..and something more too…." And laughed trying to over shadow that he didn't want to take any more of those names but just wanted Mayank to feel his thrill.

Mayank realized Nupur must have told him that the Gujrati Thali was looking like the one in Jodha Akbar that Hrithik Roshan eats in kingly style. Smart she was!!!! Else Varun must have found this very food boring. Mayank tried to reflect his tone, "Really? Wow! You had fun?"

Varun said loudly and excitedly, "Yes Dad a lot! Even Mom had…" and Varun said what all Nupur had brought for him and even for Mayank, Nupur, Gunjan, Rohan, Samrat and his grand parents.

Mayank happily finished his lunch listening to Varun's babbering as it made him so happy to even try to feel Varun's excitement. Those who say, say it right, that even the happy voice of your loved ones is enough to make you happy enough to forget everything else and Varun was back to being so after so long…he could almost thank God for that and well, Nupur too.

After a while Mayank asked a bit hesitant, "And umm…did Nupur have her favourite Sandwich Dhokla?"

Varun asked confused, "What?"

Mayank said, "Nothing.." while Varun promptly asked Nupur about it and Mayank regretted having asked that while Nupur hadn't loved her one of the favourite dishes as much as she loved Mayank asking about it. She patted Varun's cheeks involuntarily and smiled and said, "Yes , we both had it Varun"

Varun passed the message to Mayank, "Yes Dad, Mom said we both had it" and after Nupur indicated it to Varun, he describe," Dad its white dhokla and yellow dhokla and in between it has green chutney sandwiched. Its yummy. You want it too?"

Mayank said, "No…I am just having my lunch beta….You both take care and reach ome in time for the party okay.."

Varun said, "Yes Dad I will take care of Mom!"

Mayank laughed and said, "Okay Good" and he realized that he needed to think before he asked Varun. And Nupur must now be finding it completely strange that he was suddenly asking about her favourite dishes. Why did he have to ask Varun about it anyways?

As Varun hung Mayank's phone, he turned towards Nupur and said, "Mom, now I wanna talk to Isha…"

Nupur was finally out of pain but tired still. And she was playing with her new bundle of joy. It was strange making someone smile was never this exciting before. It was a '9^th cloudly feeling' for sure.

Mayank had gone to see off the relatives who had come to see Nupur and his newly born child.

As Mayank came in and saw a sight that he knew was 'pictured for life' for him, Nupur was sitting cross-legged on the bed in hospitals uniform with their baby in her hand. Trying to make him smile and cradle him in his arms and the way her teary eyes meant only happiness and she too laughed like a child.

Mayank went and sat beside her and she completely rested herself on him still holding Varun and said, "Mayank, now I have beared all the pain enough for the life time, you better take care of Us both for the rest of our lives!!!!"

Mayank laughed at the way Nupur changed her reaction on his arrival. It made him very happy that she always found extreme comfort and left all the things to him because she found herself at leisure around him. Mayank held her shoulder and while he tickled his son't cheeks he said, "Sure Madame…You'll have me at your service!"

Nupur smiled as she closed her eyes still resting her head on his shoulders, strangely her smile didn't fade even when she wasn't actually smiling. Now that is what made Mayank happier, if that was possible.

Holding onto the moment is what he wanted but he felt as if it was a new start to their life, of their son's life, of new happiness and new responsibilities, of new world of their child and new maturities.

Thanking was not enough but he that was the first thing he did to his son for making his life special, their life special.
