It was evening, abhay and piya had practiced a lot together for the performance they would give in the evening. All the students had great expectations from them that they would surely make mount college proud. It was clearly visible that they were the best couple and they had the potential to win. Choreographers had given them steps and they easily learnt it. Now nobody was able to take out any flaw in them, it was obvious. Now they were eagerly waiting for the grand moment to arrive so that they could perform. But piya was more ecstatic for her singing competition so that she could surprise abhay. She had to thank him for being so good friend to her and she decided to do this way. She was giving a solo performance with her guitar on an English song.
Mussorie, wellington college, auditorium, singing & dance competitions
In evening everybody stated getting ready for their competitions. Now some were participating while others were going to cheer them but everyone was busy in some or the other work. Misha and Ruhi were helping piya and aleena in getting ready. Aleena was wearing a beautiful purple evening gown while piya was wearing a ice blue knee-length dress for singing competition and a beautiful red flowing gown for the dance competition.

Abhay was wearing a black evening suit matching with piya's red gown for the competition. He was eager to know that what was piya hiding from him because he could sense something fishy between aleena and piya. Both girls used to talk with each other a lot but when he was somewhere near then they used to change the topic.The auditorium was filled soon with young blood. Everyone was full of energy and thrill. First singing competition started in which the participants from other colleges performed first and then at last Mount College had its chance. Aleena had to perform first from mount college, she wasn't nervous as she was confident about herself. She loved singing and music was her passion. Her room had a large shelf filled of thousands of music Cds and cassettes. Music gave her comfort, it filled the deep void in her heart and it fulfilled her desires. She was all soaked into music and nobody except abhay knew it and now piya too knew it. It was no doubt that piya had become her soul sister in every means. It was the first time she was going to perform in front of a huge audience but as always she wasn't nervous but was thrilled. Piya bade her best of luck and she went on the stage with her violin.
Piya: aleena'. I know you will surely make us proud' just go and show them what you got up sleeve'
Aleena went and performed on the song 'Udi' from the movie guzaarish. It was a great performance and the hall was filled with thunderous claps.
Then it was chance of piya to come on stage. She was excited about her performance moreover she was more thrilled about it. As she entered on the stage with her guitar, she easily saw the one she was looking for, abhay. He was sitting in the front row in the audience in his black attire looking like a perfect gentleman. She asked for a mike before singing to say something.
Piya: good evening to one and all'. I am piya representing Mount College, dehradun before you all'. I would just like to dedicate this song to my friends and most importantly to someone who is really precious to me'. Who has played a great role of being my friend and my confidant till now'. I won't take his name but I guess he will understand it easily'. He is present here and this is for you my dear friend'.
She gave the mike back and started singing the song. The song was the theme song of titanic ' my heart will go on by Celina Dion.

Piya's voice put the essence in the lyrics. She made the song divine and out of this world. Everyone was mesmerized with the song and was waving his/her hands in air. As the song ended whole auditorium was filled with noise of once more and huge claps. Piya left the stage with a huge smile finally happy and content that now she could paste a smile on the face which always made her smile.
Everyone and of course Abhay knew that the 'someone' about whom piya was talking was none other than abhay himself. There was no doubt about it. He was feeling really special as no one had made him feel so special before piya entered in his life. She was his ultimate source of happiness and light in his dark life. A huge smile was pasted on his face throughout the song and now he just wanted to hug piya and confess his love to him. He got up from his seat and ran towards back stage to meet his angel.
Backstage everyone was just hugging and congratulating piya for her wonderful performance. The girls had really made the college proud with their performances. Other participants were now sure that there was no scope for them to win. The results were known before they could be announced.
Abhay went in the green room were aleena and piya were to be found but he saw only aleena there. Piya had gone to change her dress for the dance performance.
Abhay: hey aleena'. You did a wonderful job'. I didn't expect that from you'. I am glad to see your passion and devotion towards music'
Aleena: thanks bro'. waise last waali line kuch zyadaa bhari nahi ho gayi'..
Abhay: achcha'. Theek hai' waise yahaan akeli ho'. Mat lab'
Aleena: matlab'. Main samjh gayi'. Tumhe piya se milna hai nah'.
Abhay nodded in agreement.
Aleena: who abhi aati hogi'. Kapde change karne gayi hai'. Just wait'.
Abhay went and sat in a corner waiting for piya. When piya came out in her red flowing gown she didn't notice abhay sitting there. Abhay also decided to surprise her. Aleena was helping piya in doing makeup for the dance.
Aleena: piya'. You sang very well'. You should be a singer'. Your voice is so sweet'. Everyone is saying that'.
Piya: hey'. I sing just for interest'. It gives me comfort and you also sang pretty well'.
Aleena (teasingly though knowing the answer): thanks'. Waise who was your special friend or whom you sang'. Was it me? If it was for me then I really liked it'. No I loved it'.
Piya (under her breath though both abhay and aleena heard): jiske liye gayaa usne toh kuch kaha hi nahi'. Stupid kahin ka'.
Piya was shocked to see abhay in the mirror standing behind her. She got up quickly and turned to see him. The dance competition was started and Aleena went out of the green room leaving both the lovers cum friends together. Abhay piya had their chance at the last.
Piya: tum'. Yahaan'. Kya'. Kya kar rahe ho tum yahaan'. Aur has kyon rahe ho'.
Abhay: tumne mere liye gaana gayaa tha nah'.
Piya: pataa nahi'.
Abhay: piya'. Haan yaa nahi'. Yes or no?
Piya: tumhe kya lagta hai'.?
Abhay: yes'. Tumne mere liye gayaa'.
Piya: toh jab tumhe pataa tha toh kyon pooch rahe they'. Waise kaisa tha'. Did you like it'.?
Abhay: no'. I didn't like it'. (Piya's face fell) but actually I loved it'. It was really beautiful'. You didn't need to do this' I know you very well'.
Piya: what'. You loved it and you say I didn't need to do that'. You are a jerk Mr. raichand'. I will surely rate you on no.1 for your stupidity'.
Abhay: and I will rate you on no.1 for your secrecy'. I was trying so much to find that what was going between you and aleena and you guys didn't even told anyone about this' but once again thanks for it'.. I have something for you'.
Abhay put his hand in his pocket and took out the box in which the necklace was kept. He handed it to piya and asked her to open it'.
Piya: what's this'?
Abhay: you ask too much'. Just open it'.
Piya slowly and carefully unwrapped the box and found the beautiful necklace which abhay bought exclusively for her.
Her eyes were glowing and filled with tears. She had no words to say. No one in this whole world made her feel this way ever, not even her mother, her childhood friend jay'. Actually NO ONE. All others had no importance in front of abhay for her. Her day started from him and ended on him. It was only he who now was most close to her heart.
Piya: this is so beautiful'.. I have no words to describe now'.what to say'. It's just so beautiful'.
Abhay: not more than you'. Hey why are you crying'?
Piya: you are the first person in my life who has this much impact on me'. I feel so safe and warm near you'. I feel like I have known you for ages'. Abhay I don't know but you are the only person who means to me now'.
Abhay: piya'. Maybe I also feel the same but just don't cry'.
Piya: abhay can I ask you one thing'.
Abhay: hmmm'.
Piya: will you leave me on day as others do with me'?
Abhay; no'. not at all' I will always be with you as your friend but just stop crying'. I can't see you crying'..
Piya hugged him without even uttering a word more. She felt so special when he was near. Abhay was taken aback with piya's reaction. She was still crying so he hugged her back.
