Hasina drove her car as fast as she could. She has to get Panchi out fast. The scent of her blood has started to make Sidharth restless. She didn't know how long Sidharth could resist it, not to mention her own resistance.
Finally to her relief they reached the Dobriyals'. She signalled Sidharth to hide himself on the floor of the backseat under the black cloak.
Hasina drove inside the gate, with her usual confidence, though inside she was worried a bit. How could she not, seeing what had happened tonight.
Arnab was walking around the hall worried, thinking of whether to take help from police and Khuranas to find Panchi in the storm. Misha and Piya had been calling all known friends of Panchi to see if she had gone there. The storm had gone away but still no news about Panchi. Arnab made up his mind to call Mrs.Khurana and was about to dial her number, when the bell rang.
All rushed to the door. Thinking that it was Panchi who must be back in her senses now, Arnab opened his mouth to scold her for going out at night, even before the doors were opened properly. But words died in his throat when he saw the visitor.
"Mrs.Raichand !! " said a shocked Arnab. His mind immediately went to Piya who was standing next to him. He and Misha got tensed thinking about Piya and Hasina's meeting. But to their relief, Hasina acted as if she didn't know Piya. Everyone's gaze fell on the unconscious Panchi who was supported by Hasina. "What happened to her? And where is her car?" asked Arnab.
"I think she had an accident. I found her bleeding and unconscious near the jungle as I was passing by. You should tend her wounds fast. Don't know how long she had been bleeding." answered Hasina, thankful that the topic of car came up. She was wondering what story to present when she was ringing the bell.
Arnab and Misha carried Panchi to the sofa while Piya stood still looking at Hasina, wondering where she had seen her before. Arnab told Misha to call the doctor and returned to the door. "I don't know how to thank you for saving my daughter in this strange storm. " said a grateful Arnab, while looking at Piya in between, tensed.
Hasina understood the situation. She wasn't eager either to stay - she too had a child to take care of. "I'll take my leave now. Be careful not to let out young kids late night." replied Hasina as she turned to leave.
Arnab nodded and almost dragged in Piya who was still in thoughts about this familiar face. 'I am sure I 've seen her before. But where ?? And papa just called her Mrs.Raichand. Is she Abhay's mom? But if she is, how come she didn't recognize me ?? Afterall I was her son's gf '. Piya got drowned in more questions about the missing parts of her life.
Hasina drove out of the gate with Sidharth still hidden in the back. "You can come out now" she said, after driving away for few minutes.
Sidharth sat straight in the backseat, still silent and lost in thoughts.
'He hasn't spoken even a single word since his return', thought Hasina. Her thoughts went back to the little lie she had told him. 'How can Maithili do something which she is not aware of existing'. But Hasina was sure that evenif she knew, she'd never try it, neither for Sidharth nor for Abhay.
It was an action equivalent to suicide for a vampire and only those desperate for their lovers would ever attempt it.
Hasina remembered how she came to know about it. It was during the initial years of their vampire life. There were a lot of vampire hunters unlike now. Every now and then, they heard news about some vampire getting hunted down. Hasina was frantic about Chand. Ice curse she could handle but it was the other type of vampire death that scared her. She couldn't imagine even a moment without her Chand. She searched everywhere for a way to beat it and that was when she met a very old vampire. That woman was impressed by Hasina's love and she passed on the secret ritual which was lost with time and had no written material.
Even now Hasina was all prepared to do it for her love, her Chand. And today even if it was an accident, Panchi had done exactly the same for her son.
For some reason Hasina never liked Maithili. She found her more obsessed with self to love anyone. 'That girl was the reason for the brothers' death and enemity. She can only bring destruction, while Piya... '
Piya's face similarity to Maithili was one reason why Hasina disliked her. And when Sidharth started to spend time with Piya, Hasina was worried that history would repeat. But to her surprise, unlike Maithili who would enjoy all the attention, Piya had remained loyal to Abhay and was only thinking of ways to pair up her elder sister with Sidharth. And now she knew that if anyone deserves her son, it's Piya who would go to any extent to save him, just like her.
The Dobriyal sisters definitely reminded Hasina of herself. Yes, even the tomboyish Misha, who spoke her mind without any fear of the world. And Panchi might bring her lost son back on track, while Maithili 'll only destroy him more.
Hasina knew how much Sidharth loved Maithili who enjoyed all his attention and love while being obsessed with Abhay. 'But I am not going to lose my sons again coz of that girl. I'll go to extremes, if I 've to, to get rid of her from their lives. ' decided Hasina, 'I need to push him towards Panchi to keep him away from Maithili. So no need to tell him that Panchi had resurrected him accidently.'
"Now that you and Abhay are back, chances are that Maithili will also be back. She'll try to get you on her side. She might even lie that she never knew such a way to bring you back. But remember that she was only using you to get to Abhay, and will continue the same. And don't forget - Panchi is your master now, both literally and figuratively."
Sidharth chose to continue his silence. It wasn't exactly a secret that Hasina despised Maithili.
'Yes Panchi was his "master" now but how can he forget his love of 200 years if Panchi cannot forget her love of few months ; even when that love was already claimed for. No matter what his mother says, no matter how much Maithili's betrayal hurts his dead heart, he cannot forget his love. Huh, even his little brother, who is so madly in love with Piya, still had some feelings for her. Why else would he not kill her when he had killed his own brother in cold blood ?? '
