Ocean of Different Emotions Going on Inside

Leaning her back against the wall, Riddhima stared at the sunset standing beside the window. She smiled as her silky long hairs started blowing with the cool breeze of wind. The feeling was beautiful, she thought. She rubbed her palms and arms as she was feeling cold. Just then, someone wrapped a shawl around her. She turned back and saw Armaan standing behind her. She smiled at him - an awkward smile. Somehow Armaan could sense that and he smiled back to her, a kind of uncomfortable smile. They were friends since years but they never exchanged such formal smiles to each other.

Armaan stood beside Riddhima and admired the beauty of the sunset. After a while of admiring session, both felt like they were behaving so weird with each other. So they decided to talk. They turned their faces to each other.

Their foreheads bumped making a little thud sound. "Aaouucchh!", they both spoke out touching their foreheads. They looked at each other and suddenly they burst out into laughter. "Why are you laughing?", Armaan asked Riddhima curiously. Riddhima sarcastically answered, "Because you were dancing!" "Kya?", Armaan said making a weird face. Riddhima laughingly said, "Areey buddhu! I'm laughing because of the same reason you were laughing." "Why was I laughing?", Armaan asked confusingly. Riddhima slammed her palm on her forehead and said, "OMG! Armaan! We both were behaving weird with each other and we were thinking the same thing together! That's why we laughed! Remember now?"

Armaan funnily smiled and said, "Oh yeah! I remember now." Riddhima took a deep breath and smilingly said, "Thank goodness!" Armaan smiled seeing Riddhima smiling and thought in mind, "I know Riddhima that even though you were normal with me in the kitchen, somewhere inside you, you were having an ocean of different emotions just like me. I just needed to bring you out of that. So I did it."

"ARMAAN! RIDDHIMA!", DJ called out from the main hall. Riddhima excitedly said, "DJ has come!" Saying that, she ran towards the hall. Armaan just smiled at Riddhima's innocence and childish behaviour.

Suddenly the worry lines came on his face and he thought, "Why am I feeling so different for Riddhima today? Why everything related to her is making me smile and blush? I hope that I'm not falling for.. *pause* No way man! I can't think about these things now. I need to concentrate on my career."

Armaan came to the main hall and saw DJ tying a red thread around Riddhima's wrist. He walked towards them and curiously asked, "DJ, why are you tying thread on Riddhima's wrist?" DJ smiled and said, "So that my darling daughter may be saved from all kinds of bad things." Armaan innocently said making a sad face, "Waah! You forgot your son after your darling daughter came. Very good DJ! I didn't expect it from you." Riddhima laughed at Armaan's innocently saying that to DJ and said teasingly, "Haha! You still got your childhood habit? Jealous hun?" Armaan angrily said, "Riddhima! I'm not jealous!" "You are!", said Riddhima adding more fuel to the fire. After all she loved making Armaan angry. "Riddhima!", said Armaan staring angrily at Riddhima. Riddhima laughed. "What's so funny?", Armaan asked making a weird face. "You are funny!", Riddhima said laughingly.

Armaan extended his hands in order to get hold of Riddhima. Riddhima, who was sitting with DJ on the couch, jumped up to run for her life. DJ said, "You guys will never change! Stop fighting! And Armaan, Riddhima is deliberately making you angry and you are getting angry?!?!" Armaan stared at Riddhima angrily and said with full attitude, "No DJ! I won't leave this Riddhima today! Riddhima ki bacchi.. tu rukh abhi!" Saying that he forwarded towards Riddhima and Riddhima ran off.

DJ slammed her palm on her forehead and shaking her head, she said, "God! Please give them some wisdom!"

Riddhima ran to her room and Armaan came running after her. Riddhima stood near her bed and threw pillows on Armaan. Armaan also started threwing cushions on Riddhima. Their pillow-cushion fight went on for long and after the pillows and cushions were finished in their sides, they stared at each other and suddenly burst out into laughter. They came close to each other. Armaan said smilingly, "These fights even make our friendship more stronger." Riddhima smiled and replied, "And I hope it will always be like that." Saying that, she pulled Armaan in a warm friendly hug. They gossiped and laughed all night together. But little did they know that with the sunrise of the next day, their lives were going to take a new turn.

Next morning, Armaan and Riddhima went to their college according to their daily routine. Seeing Armaan, Nikita, who was standing at the college gate, ran to him and hugged him. Armaan hugged her back. Riddhima clutched her fingers in her palm and stared at Nikita angrily. Something inside her was burning like hell.

She went near Armaan and Nikita angrily and said sarcastically, "Hey Niki! Didn't you see me? Or I guess you don't wanna hug me?" Nikita broke the hug with Armaan, hugged Riddhima and said smilingly, "Of course nothing is like that! It's just like I always welcome Armaan to the college with a hug!" Riddhima broke the hug and thought in mind, "Huh! Welcome Armaan with a hug! Is he new in college? Strange!"

"What are you thinking?", Nikita said waving her hand in front of Riddhima. Riddhima smiled and said, "Nothing! Anyways where are the others?" Nikita said, "Oh they didn't come yet." Riddhima thought in mind, "So you also shouldn't have come now." Armaan came in between the conversation of Riddhima and Nikita and said, "Girls! So what's the plan after college? After all tomorrow is Sunday." "What about going on a movie?", Nikita said excitedly. "Naah! That would be boring. Lets go on a long drive!", Riddhima said. Armaan said smilingly, "Lets do one thing. At first we will go on a movie and then a long drive. Okay?" "Sure!", Nikita said with a broad smile and hi-fived with Armaan. Riddhima annoyingly thought, "Oh yeah! At first, movie! Great Mr. Malik! Very good!"

Suddenly Riddhima made a confused expression and said, "Why am I getting mad at Niki? What's happening?" Armaan waved his hand in front of Riddhima's face and said, "Again in thoughts? Are you alright Riddhima?" Riddhima nodded. Armaan smiled at that. The other gang members came and all went to their class together. Riddhima was left confused about her new feelings.

After the college ended, all went to their houses to freshen up and change. Armaan and Riddhima were back home. Armaan informed DJ about their hang-out plan. DJ permitted him and strictly instructed him to take special care of Riddhima. Armaan happily nodded and went to change.

On the way to his room, he stopped in front of Riddhima's room as he saw Riddhima struggling with tying the knot at the back of her salwar suit. He kept staring at Riddhima and took slow steps to her. Riddhima saw Armaan coming nearer to her and felt a little uncomfortable. But she tried her best to be normal and said, "Can you please help tying the knot Armaan? Since long I'm struggling with it." Armaan smiled and said, "Sure!" Saying that, he extended his hand to touch the knot.

Riddhima's heart beats started in the fastest mode as she saw Armaan's hands extending towards her back. As soon as she felt Armaan's touch, she shivered. Armaan noticed that and confusingly asked Riddhima, "Are you alright Riddhima?" Riddhima nodded and Armaan finished tying the knot.

Suddenly what struck in his mind that instead of moving back, he stayed there, right behind Riddhima. His hands were still on her back, slowly his fingers started caressing her milky white skin. Riddhima shivered again. She felt butterflies in her tummy. Caressing her skin at her back, Armaan's hands went down to hold her hands. Holding Riddhima's hands tight, Armaan closed his eyes, brought his face close to her shoulder and kissed it gently. As Riddhima felt the touch of Armaan's lips on her shoulder, she heavily breathed and whispered, "Armaan!"

Armaan suddenly opened his eyes and stepped back instantly. Riddhima opened her eyes and turned back in shock. She stared at Armaan confusingly while Armaan quietly went out of her room. Riddhima stood here shocked, confused and speechless.

Armaan apologizes to Riddhima for the mistake he did while he helped her tying the knot. Hearing Armaan, Riddhima breaks down inside but doesn't express it in front of Armaan. After Armaan left, she exclaimed with an ocean of tears filled her eyes, "How can he think that as a mistake?"
