A Maaneet Tale

Burn

When I got to work, the first thing I saw completely burned me up. I entered my boss's cabin only to find Geetanjali, who is apparantely my sister, and my boss.

And trust me, the sight was NOT good.

I saw them both kissing and when I heard them giggle, I felt upset. I felt like I was supposed to be there, not my sister.

And then Yash, Geetanjali's friend entered and he picked her up in his arms and gave her a twirl. The giggles grew to laughs and I felt my heart burn.

"Your not really going to kiss me, okay?" I repeated for the gazillionth time. Honestly, it felt wrong to kiss my sister's boyfriend so I decided to just keep it pretend.

Maan: "Yes. How many times are you going to repeat that?" he said in exasperation.

"Okay, so here is the plan. As soon as Geet enters the cabin we are going to "kiss", and then Yash is going to enter and twirl me around just like he used to do with Geet" I said and pointed to Yash in the end who nodded beside me.

Yash: "There she is!" he said and our heads snapped up and watched as Geet came walking towards our cabin, oblivious to the fact that her boyfriend and I were in here.

So Maan stood in front of me and we pretended to "kiss" and I started to giggle. I glanced at Geet from over Maan's shoulder and saw the look of jealousy on her face.

And then before I could even take another breath, the ground vanished beneath me and I was in Yash's arms. I started laughing and my laugh was truely genuine. It was fun being in Yash's arms and I felt confident with him next to me during this whole charade. I didn't feel like I was cheating on him.

And when he put me down, it was time for me to speak.

I pretended to feign a look of utter shock and embarrassment as I turned to look at Geet. She replaced her frown with a faint smile. I remembered to clasp Maan's hand and her eyes drifted down to our hands, the look of jealousy returning to her face.

She cleared her throat and then turned to speak to me.

Geet: "You never told me you had a... Boyfriend" she said and I tried not to hide a smile.

"Oh Geet, don't you remember? We go way back" I said, exaggerating the word 'way'.

Geet: "Really? How back?" she asked curiously

"We've been dating for 11 years. Met in high school" I said casually and her body tensed at the word 'high school'.

Geet: "Oh..." she trailed off

"Yash is your best friend, by the way" I pointed out and she gave Yash a quick smile. She then turned to Maan.

Geet: "Uhm... My job?" she asked, trying not to meet his eyes.

Maan: "Your job" he repeated, a deep but sexy voice coming out of his throat. I gulped and looked down at the floor.

Maan: "Is to e-mail these clients" he said and handed me over a list, which I took. I shivered when his fingers brushed against mine. They were so warm...

I stared at the small piece of paper in my hands blankly. I could feel Sir's intense gaze on me and I was determined not to look back at him.

But his eyes were like a magnet. I had to look up to him and once I did, I froze.

It was like time stood still and all I could see were his beautiful, almond eyes. Honestly, I could look at them forever but that's not what I was thinking about.

I was thinking about the familiarity of them.

They were so familar, it kind of scared me. I knew I hadn't ever met this man before and I couldn't help but try and think back when I had seen them --

Maan: "Well? What are you standing there for?" he asked in a cold, firm tone and I jumped. I gulped down my saliva and held the list tightly.

"Sorry, sir" I managed to squeak out and I left, running for the safety of my cabin.

"It killed me to yell at her like that" I said and her scared expression haunted my mind but I also couldn't forget the time when we stared into each other's eyes, a look of the old Geet flashed through her eyes.

But it was gone so quickly, I wasn't sure if I actually saw it or imagined it.

Geetanjali gave me a sad smile.

Geetanjali: "Okay, so you know what to do next right?" she asked and I nodded. I perfectly knew what I had to do and I was determined to get the scene right. This scene was our first, heavy makeout session and I had a feeling that this might bring her back.

So I started to prepare.

I watched from the window as Geetanjali and my boss made their way out of my boss's cabin. I clenched my teeth and started on my work.

A few hours later, I was completely exhausted with work. I glanced at the time and was shocked when I realized it was already 6:00pm. Through the window, I could see that the workers were making their way home. Slowly, the office was becoming more quiet. I looked through the window on my right and saw Sir wasn't there.

So I decided to just leave and go home. I packed up my things and headed out of the building, wanting to get home as fast as I could. So with that, I took a shortcut through a dark alleyway.

And I froze.

She was in a pink, frilly prom dress and he was in a tuxedo looking amazingly handsome. They were hugging, touching, giggling, laughing and it all came rushing at me.

So fast, I couldn't keep my eyes open and I fell to the ground.

Okay, for the starters I didn't exactly black out. I wanted to open my eyes and move but my body felt like a hammer slammed to the ground. I tried to speak but my voice box had suddenly disappeared.

And then suddenly, a flash of images of me and Maan rushed through my mind. We were laughing, playing, in office fighting. Oh and the storage room! Also the images of when he proposed to me. And then after the prom.

I watched as the scene played in my mind like an old movie tape. We were kissing. Making out. And it was all so real, I thought it was happening to me right now.

"I love you" said Maan and I smiled.

"You too. I love you too" I said and it ended with another hot kiss.

And then it all stopped.

My mind was completely black for a second I thought I really did faint but then my eyes automatically flicked open like they had a mind of it's own.

I saw Geetanjali and Maan with worried expressions on their faces, lightly patting me on the cheek and asking if I was feeling okay.

I sprang up like I had been electricuted and I felt anger surge through me.

"I thought you were my sister!" I yelled at Geetanjali who looked at me in shock and horror.

Geet: "I thought you were my sister!" she yelled at me and I looked back at her in shock and horror.

"I... I am your sister" I said and I completely forgot I was holding Maan's hand.

Geet: "Get your filthy hands off him!" she shouted and I immediately took a step back, releasing his hand.

"What the --"

Geet: "Why were you making out with him? And is that MY prom dress your wearing?!" she yelled

A huge grin formed on my face due to happiness. I felt like crying. My Geet was back. But still, I wanted to make sure she was REALLY back.

"YOUR prom dress? It's MY prom dress" I yelled back

Geet: "Pffft! Liar" she said

I stuck my tongue out and held Maan's arm protectively.

Geet: "Don't touch him"

"Why?"

Geet: "I said DON'T. TOUCH. HIM!"

"Why? He's MINE Geet. Back off"

Geet: "No. HE'S MINE! I CAN EVEN PROVE IT!" she yelled

"Oh really? How?"

Geet: "He's my FIANCE. LOOK!" she said and thrust her hand on my face, showing me her engagement ring up close.

And that was it.

She was back.

I let go of Maan's arm and then started to laugh, putting a hand on my stomach which was now sore due to so much laughter.

Geet: "What the fish is so funny?" she said, a frown forming on her face. Her use of the word 'fish' made me laugh even harder.

Precap: Geet's birthday and some hot *ahem* scenes!

anyway loved how geet got jealous ...
i like the way they pictured it and i honestly thought Geetanjali was kissing Maan ...
would have loved abit more lol :P
