Raichand Mansion.

Haseena was resting on her four poster fairy bed adorned with eiderdowns cradling her . She was half asleep. Piya was sitting next to her while Chaand paced up and down angrily ' very unusual of him. Zeenia was busy gulping down rum after rum and Kabir was just looking at her in disbelief. Here , everyone is worried sick and just look at her. Her long legs dangling from the high silk-cushioned stool, she is busy gulping alcohol and tapping finger at the window pane which in turn was being washed down by the virginal water of a mild drizzle. It had been three hours since they had left Daksh's Mansion. Haseena was fed on human blood and she was much better now. Pancchi had been taken home by the Dobriyaals and all was well , on the surface. Piya still remembered the goodbye from Daksh's family ' they had looked like a small powerful army to her . Their eyes were so cold, vengeful and monstrous. Each and everyone of them. Piya shuddered and her hand that was holding Haseena's hand trembled. Haseena , who had almost fallen to sleep woke up and looked at the girl's tense and tight face.

Haseena ( pressing Piya's hand )- Don't worry about a thing, Piya. Nothing will happen. We can handle the slayers.

Piya ( in a shaky voice)- How? Today Kabir was able to save your life , aunty because he is a slayer. You were totally unaware that Daksh could use somebody so close to us to kill you.

Kabir (flustered )- What I don't get is that why has Daksh brought his whole family in? They all look ready to kill. And its unnatural, Chaand uncle. Slayers don't show up just like that to kill vampires . They are always sent ' hired ' delegated to hunt your race. But the way Daksh was talking to aunty , it seemed like there is no link behind him. He has just risen and come on his own.

Haseena ( thoughtfully )- I don't know how to put it to you, Chaand. But' I felt this shiver down my spine. And it was not of anxiety or fear. It was something else. The way he looked at me , what he said while we were parting , I don't know. There was a strange feeling of Dj vu about it. Like , it has happened before ' those mean slanting black eyes- they seemed to rise from some corner of our 500+ year old history.

Chaand ( struck )- Slayers are not immortal, Haseena unless a witch or a devil's test does it for them. From what I sensed, Daksh and his whole family is MORTAL. In that case , how is it possible unless you are talking about some past life connection?

Haseena ( looks at Zeenia )- Is it possible to find out?

Zeenia ( shakes her head )- Nopes. I will need Daksh fort that and he would rather have Mughalai Anushka Do Pyaada for dinner than participate in my hocus pocus.

Kabir ( nods )- He wouldn't be want to be found out ,right?

Chaand ( gritting his teeth )- Life has never looked this riddled before. All this memory mess and the drama had to happen now with Abhay, when we need him on our side the most.

Piya ( timidly )- We need him for him, uncle.Not because he is invincible.

Chaand ( realizing but keeping firm )- Piya, please. All this emotional trauma has cost us enough already. Lets not get into that. He should have been here by now.

Zeenia ( eating ice cubes and blowing hot and cold )- Piya told me where he was and I told him what happened to aunty. He didn't say anything but looked worried.

Piya ' Then, why didn't you bring him with you?

Zeenia ( flipping her hair )- Piya, its ABHAY we are talking about. Not a pink bowed Chihuahua whom I could just pick up and get here. Besides, Abheer was there too.

Kabir ' Abheer? What the hell! Is there any more manipulation and instigation left to do?

Haseena ( cringes )- If Abhay invests trust in Abheer at this sensitive juncture , I might just burn Abheer to ashes .

Just then , the bedroom door swings open and a smiling and glowing Abheer peeps in , his lovely green eyes glittering like emeralds.

Abheer ( kidding )- Mommy! You are so-not-nice to me. Now, you are bitching behind my back also? Bad mommy. Even in this state , your negative obsession with me is unending , huh?

Haseena ( furious )- Abheer , just shut up and get the hell out of here. Chaand , I can't stand his sight. CHUCK HIM OUT.

Chaand ( keeping his calm )- Abheer, we will humour you some other time. For now, please leave.

Abheer's mouth curves into a sexy dark smile and his eyes twinkle. He straightens up , putting his hands into the pockets of his denims and shrugs his shoulders as he comes in.

Abheer (mock serious) - Chill, fatherilicious! Chill. I am a good son'.( Kabir rolls his eyes and Zeenia coughs on her rum) 'okay , kind of good son. I came here to see my sick mommykins with'.( winks at them)' Abhay'

They all are stunned and relieved at the same time as they see Abhay walk in. Wearing a white shirt and blue denims ,sleeves rolled up to his elbows . He looks cool, calm and laid back. His face is as quiet as the morning sea but his eyes look more icy than ever. When he walks in , they all want to speak to him , say sorry maybe, try and explain things to him. Do anything that wins his love and trust back for them. But they all understand how sensitive and awkward the situation is right now. It was best to keep shut until Abhay said something.

Piya felt a relief and the frozen blood in her veins finally began to melt and flow as soon as she saw Abhay. Life breathed back into her and a relieved soft smile came over her troubled face. The worried baby browns finally seemed to be resting. Abhay '.. she just said it in her heart.

Haseena ( sitting up )- Abhay! Where did you go, son?

Abhay comes to Haseena and Piya immediately gets up so that Abhay can sit next to his mother. Abhay doesn't look at anyone and sits next to his mother. He touches her head and Haseena feels as though somebody has splashed a mug full from a glacier on her face.

Haseena ( taken aback )- You are unusually cold, Abhay.

Abheer ( checking himself out in the mirror )- Yeah, I just pulled him out of a swimming pool in Siberia.

Abhay ( raising his eyes to Abheer's face )- Abheer , why don't you go and have a round of the house? You know the situation, and nobody is getting humoured.

Abheer ( shrugs his shoulders )- Am cool'..( looks at Zeenia deeply )'.Zee'( coughs)'I mean, Anushka , why don't you accompany me? I heard fatherlicious got new goldfish in the pond on the garden.

Zeenia ( getting down from the stool)- Yeah, because crocodiles were not available, darling. I am sure you would have been happier seeing your own breed.

She nods at Kabir to indicate that he must not leave as Abhay is rather volatile right now. She gives a big fake smile to Abheer and sliding her arm through his , she literally drags him out of the room. Kabir feels a little discomfort on seeing Zeenia link her arm with Abheer's. Gah! Focus, Kabir. Focus on Abhay.

Abhay ( looks at Kabir genuinely )- Thank you, Kabir. You saved the life of a vampire inspite of being a slayer. As much as I appreciate your integrity , I must tell you that Daksh and his scavengers will not forgive you for this. Nevertheless, I owe you this one. You saved my mother's life and its my word to you that nobody and nothing can touch you. Goodness is bargained with goodness.

Kabir ( relaxed that Abhay is not shooting all of them with AK-47s)- That's cool, dude. Daksh and his family appear more like deranged serial killers to me. I know they will want to punish me with some idiotic slayer law but am ready for it.

Chaand ( keeping a hand on Abhay's shoulder )- We will handle this , Abhay.

Abhay ( with a tightened jaw)- Yeah, I am sure YOU will.

Haseena ( narrowing her eyebrows )- What do you mean, Abhay?

Abhay ( shrugging his shoulders)- I mean what I said. It's a capable vampire clan ' you have slayers , witches and'( gives a slow spiteful look to Piya )'. Human beings at your aid. So, of course you can take care of everything.

Chaand( sensing Abhay's deep rooted bitterness )- Abhay , don't judge us. You can't. You don't know what the situation was. You must listen to us.

Haseena ( feeling hurt )- You only know the truth and not what lies beneath it.

Piya (pleadingly) - Abhay , don't lock yourself in. At least , listen to us once. Don't you trust us?

Abhay (glares at her) - Shut up, Piya. Shut up before I '.( his face crumbles a little in strained pain)'I do something to you.

Kabir ( equally hurt )- Abhay'.we care about you and we care about everyone. Whatever we did was for your good and Piya's life.

Abhay ( grins sadly )- My good? Of course , you all have done me a great deal good, Kabir. One whole year of my life has been wiped out and I don't even know if I will ever recall that chunk. I am roaming like a lost wild boar where I no longer know what my mind thinks and my heart feels! And' ( grabs Piya's arm and accuses her like a criminal )' and this freak of a woman who I love to the limits of insanity just saw me going crazy!

Piya ( tears welling up in her eyes )- Abhay'

Abhay ( shoving her off )- Screw your Abhay! '.( calms himself)'. Look, am not here to reason or fight with anyone. I don't want to say anything.I don't want to hear anything. If I was to hear one more explanation that I CAN NO LONGER remember , my head is going to burst. I came here to see my mother and tell you all that am not coming back home.

Chaand ( raising an eyebrow)- What do you mean? Where are you going to stay and with whom? Abheer? Maithli?

Abhay ( shakes his head )- No. I am going to the bungalow on the outskirts of the town. I just need to be alone ' away from this suffocating love and protection that is taking away my sanity.

Haseena ( stung)- We love you, Abhay.

Abhay ( looks crestfallen )- Maybe, mother. Maybe you all love me but there is too much deceit , half truths and hide and seek in this love. I love you all but'( gulps his emotions)'. I cannot trust anyone of you. Without asking you , I can read it on your faces that there is still a lot that I don't know about my own life. Right?

Chaand, Haseena and Piya look guilty and don't say anything. A sad smile creeps over Abhay's face and his eyes cloud. He sighs and giving a quick kiss on Haseena's forehead , turns to go. He stops at the door and looks at all of them.

Abhay ( hoarsely )- I love you but I no longer see my loved ones in you. I want to be loved ' not deceived in the name of love.

With this , he leaves the room. Piya , drawn by an invisible thread goes after him. Chaand slumps into an armchair holding his head and Kabir comforts him , putting his hand on his shoulder.

Living Room, Raichand Mansion.

As soon as Piya comes into the living room , running after Abhay , he stops at the main door sensing her.

Abhay ( without turning around )- Don't come after me, Piya. I don't have anything to say to you. Whatever I had to tell you, I told you at Daksh's house.

Piya strides upto him and grabbing his arm turns him to face her. Abhay looks at her tear stricken shocked face but not a single muscle in his face moves as he clenches his fists harder.

Piya ( wiping her tears with an angry hand)- Really? I think am suffering from hearing impairment because I do not remember you telling me what is your decision on our relationship! Tell me for once and all where we stand so that when you walk out of this house I know what to do!

Abhay ( mock confused)- Relationship, Piya? What relationship? Before Maithli washed out your and Anushka's dirty secret , I was apparently sinning by eyeing you . You were shipping me and Maithli, right?

Piya ( breaking down)- Don't do that mean vampire act with me, Abhay. You know now what the truth is ' that we always loved each-other! My circumstances were shaky but you know that I love you!

Abhay ( looks at her face for some time and his eyes droop)- Yes, you love me so much that you didn't trust my love , my powers , my ability to protect you and Anushka from that insane Natasha and obsessive Maithli? That's it? Is that all you could know and understand of me, Piya? I appeared so weak and wishy washy to you that you felt I could not protect my own sister and the woman I loved? ') holds her by her shoulders and shakes her hard)'. ANSWER ME!

Piya can feel his angry veins throbbing through her skin and his eyes look so accusing , distrustful and wounded that Piya heart lurches to her mouth. Her voice refuses to find way to her mouth. What answer could she give Abhay when she knew that he was throwing the truth in her face. Why didn't she and Anushka trust Abhay and his commitment to them?

Abhay ( sneers and cups her mouth hard shaking in anger )- How will you answer me, Piya. HOW? You and Anushka apparently martyred yourselves but NO! Its me who you martyred. My life! First Anushka gave me a screwed head and now, I have a screwed heart. ' ( draws her face closer and breathes into her face )' for months I was a madman Piya. A MADMAN! You saw me crumble under the pressure of my emotions every minute but you did nothing to heal me. You kept running away from me for WHAT? Maithli? Anushka? Or someone else that you were scared of or wanted to save? You may have been a Saviour Angel in the eyes of the world, Piya but you ruined my life! Maithli just played with my heart but you screwed my life.

With this, Abhay pushes Piya away and she realizes the damage that she had done to Abhay. He looked so helpless, broken and vulnerable. It seemed like he was in a no man's land and he had no idea where his life was going or where he wanted to go.

Piya ( with great effort to keep herself composed )- I did what I thought was right at that time, Abhay. Or maybe I was not a good judge of the situation. But'( touches his softened face that looks like a baby's with all the heartbreak and vulnerability coming to the fore)'.whatever your take or decision on me, Abhay, I want you to know that I love you. I love you with all that I have or will have. You may walk out on me right now and am not going to force myself on you. Still, I will be standing right here, Abhay, hoping that you will come back one day.

Abhay ( looking into her eyes)- Don't. This time I am not coming back, Piya. Not to you, for sure. I saw my soulmate in you once upon a time. Now, I '. See NOTHING.

Piya ( nods)- Got it. But that is how you think. You can say what you want , go out from here and do what you want, but you cannot stop me from loving you.

The moment Piya says the part about loving him , Abhay pulls her into his arms and forcibly kisses her on her mouth. Piya understands by the force that it's a kiss of spite and disgust as Abhay's mouth threatens to suck the life out of her. Abhay grabs her hair and pulls her face away from his mouth.

Abhay ( hisses )- If you tell me once more that you love me, I AM GOING TO BREAK YOUR FACE!

He pulls himself away from Piya and walks out of the mansion, not even once looking back.
