First and foremost let me extend my sincere apologies to all my lovely readers..Kaan pakadakar maafi mangthi hoon..I am really very sorry and quite ashamed of my idleness and irresponsible behavior...Let me say I was walking around brain dead for a while (as though I had a functioning one before..🤢)..Anyways.. all the wonderful PMs I received from you all have motivated me humongously!! The next part is a humble new year present to all my wonderful dear friends..Love you all and let me wish you a very happy and prosperous 2012!! God bless you all!!😊

PART - 24

Geet's apartment

------------------------

They stared intently at the tall man standing in the door way,his hawk like eyes fixed on them. Nervously, they glanced at each other and then back at him. He had astrong looking jaw line, with a straight lined nose and a grizzled salt n pepper beard,which he kept stroking. He could be easily over 6'5 in height,but looked much taller because of his skinny frame..His hair was jet-black and was covered with a head gear akin of a turban.He wore a long sleeved kurta and a white pyjama with a sleeveless black jacket .

Maan's trained eyes immediately noticed the bullet- proof vest and the bulge of the gun in his pocket..Bulky sinister looking thugs equipped with latest automatic rifles stood behind him,their eyes alert, awaiting orders from their Chief. A devilish grin played across his thin framed face as he looked straight into Geet's eyes. His gaze made Geet feel like she was a lil' bunny being stared down by a predator.There was something about this man that told her that he was someone not to mess with!!

Dev stepped forward to greet him..but ignoring both him and Maan, he walked right up to Geet. He appraised her from head to toe with a bold,sweeping glance which made Geet's skin crawl , while the two men in her life clenched their fists tight..their faces suffused red with anger!

" Masha allah !! Kya khoob banaya hai rab ne aapko..., Gamila!!!

"Gamila??"

He chuckled seeing Geet's puzzled look.

"It means beautiful in Arabic..I tell you my dear... your photos haven't done any justice to you..

No wonder Dev picked you over me!!"

He released an over- exaggerated sigh and started

laughing at his own melodrama. A wave of shivers ran down her spine. He looked more scary and sinister , if possible, when he laughed..Geet

looked around and saw fear in the eyes of the people around her except in those of Maan.

He was staring intently at the Chief... the earlier murderous look on his face was gone too..it was now replaced by a quizzical one. Dev,on the other hand,looked thoroughly irritated, uncomfortable and uneasy ...

"Hope you are done with your ridiculous histrionics there,Mr. Buhanuddin Al - Thynniyan..Care to tear yourself away from the lovely lady and talk to a real man??"

Maan's voice dripped with sarcasm and mockery.

The sinister man winced as though punched in the guts... so did Dev.

He kept quite but eyed his chief nervously,

hopping from one foot to another continuously.

"Burhanuddin??", the chief turned towards Maan with a surprised expression..

"Oh, come on officer Khurana, I thought you were a smart man..well, guess I was wrong!!

Janab Burhanuddin was shot and killed two years ago in Syria, by the US Navy Seals in a covert

operation. The whole world knows about it!!

Guess the news haven't reached your part of the world yet!!".

He snorted and continued with a mocking smirk..

" Ahhh.. what else to expect from you Indians!!"

Now it was Maan's turn to smirk!!

" Oooh..I am mighty impressed by your ermm..." General knowledge"..seriously!!..but I have a question...How hard did you hit your head??"

"What?? have you gone crazy Officer??"

"Nope,not at all !! but you sure show signs of concussion..you know...memory loss, talking non

sense...yada...yada...but fikar not! Main hoon na?? I'll help you to brush up your 'lost' memory! So, where were we?? Ahh..yes, Burhanuddin shot and killed by Navy seals!!

Shot?? yes!!

Killed?? No!!

He was shot but he survived..and he was not shot by Navy Seals but by an undercover Interpol agent, who was part of that operation. Burhanuddin managed to escape on the way to the hospital but his escape was kept under wraps to protect the reputation of the agencies involved!!

The coward hid himself underground like a weasel. Now after two years, he surfaces after doing some cheap plastic surgery on his ugly face thinking that every one around him is like him..you know.. 'bird brained dimwits!!' But Burhanuddin,even if you hide your original face behind million plastic faces, I will still recognize you anywhere..any day..

because you can never hide that abhorrent eyes of

yours!! ..those same loathsome eyes that looked at me with atmost hatred when I had shot you down two years back!!"

Tadda...phew!! Finally I did it!! Make sure to let me know your feelings regarding this update..It really took a hell lot of time and energy... your comments will definitely motivate me to continue or else I wouldn't want to waste my time on this anymore...
