-the beginning part with the girls was so cute…took me back to high school time when we would go to the nearby stores for snacks/ice-creams during Lunch time…

PART 6

Nupur was tossing and turning in her bed since the past two hours and was damn irritated when she felt her mobile vibrate. She checked the screen, inwardly glad at this distraction form her thoughts. However she was shocked at Gunjna's name flashing on the screen. She usually didn't call so late.

"hello!"
Gunjan: " hello Nupur! yarrr….."

Gunjan's yaaarrr's meaning her best friend's very well knew. She must be worrying about something.

Nupur: "tume bhe koi tension hai kya?"
Gunjan: " mujhe bhe matlab? Kya hua Nupur?"

It was Nupur's turn to say "yaarrr…"

Gunjan suddenly giglled, " Nupur it seems so odd!"
Nupur: " kya?"

Gunjan: " yaaarrr, coming form u in such a way!"

Nupur: " Gunjan!"

Gunjan: " ( getting all serious) " kya hua Nupur?"

Nupur: ( sighing) " Gunjan after you left college today…"

And Nupur went on telling her the small conversation she had with Mayank.

Gunjan: " lekin tume itna gussa aya kyun?"

Nupur: " pata nahe! Bus aa gaya! I felt he was trying to flirt.."
Gunjan: " Nupur! had hai! You know he is like that with everybody!tum ne aise he becahre ko itna kuch suna dia!"
Nupur: " pehle tu tum mujhe ye batao tum kiske side per ho?"
Gunjan: ( giggling) " Nupur tum itne cute kese ho? Yar he was just trying to talk! Whats the harm in that?"
Nupur: " I know now, he was just trying to talk but us waqt I thought he was flirting aur mujhe gussa aa gaya…"

Gunjan: " aur tmne bina soche samjhe us ko khari khari suna deen!"
Nupur : " han to bus ho gaya na!"
Gunjan: " tu phir ab tum tension mein kyun ho?"

Nupur: " kyunke ab mujhe bura lag raha hai!"
Gunjan: " Nupur I hereby officially announce, tmara kuch nahe ho sakta!"

Nupur started laughing, " ye tmen ab pata laga hai?"

Gunajn: " haha! acha choro so jao! Subah college kis waqt ao ge?"
Nupur; " at 8am! Kal assignment topics milne hain na!"

Gunjan ; " ok! See you in the morning than! Goodnite!"
Nupur: " array tumne bataya nahe tume kya tension the?"
Gunajn: " kuch nahe yar! Sam ke tabiat kharab lag rahe the but so I wanted to ask you mujhe use call karna chahiay ke nahe! But ab to late gayay!"

Nupur: " tu tum pehle kehte na! Aur is mein poochne wali kya baat the? Gunjna now even I officially announce tmara kuch nahe ho sakta!"
Gunjan: " hehe! Tell me something I don't know! Goodnite Nups! See ya tomorw!"

Nupur was sitting in her class with Suhani when Mayank entered the classroom. He was her senior but they were both taking this general course together. Nupur looked up and she saw him pass her a glance but then he moved on. Nupur sighed, she was dreading this. He was angry. However then she shrugged off the feeling and started taking down notes.

By the end of the class Nupur was still struck on him, however she was not going to admit it to herself.

"Nupur…"

Nupur looked up when her Sir called her name out. He was assigning the assignment topics and telling the name of group members too.

Nupur: " yes sir?"

Sir: " Nupur you will be working on Pride and Prejudice along with…."

Nupur was glad at the topic she got. Pride and Prejudice was her favorite novel and now she ahd high hopes of getting and A grade so she patiently waited as he looked down at the attendance sheet searching for a name for her partner…

"Mayank…"

Nupur looked up , firstly at her Sir , sure that she had misunderstood and then at him…

Mayank looked up too. He was still angry at her for her behavior with him last night and this was the last thing he had expected. He looked at her and found her looking back at him.

"you are my problem" , The words came back to him and he looked away.

Nupur had seen him and was now wondering all chancing of her getting her an A were lost. Working with him would be impossible specially after yesterday night!

Anyways as soon as the class ended she took a deep breath and telling Suhnai that she will be right back, she went to Maaynk…

He had his back towards her so she had to call out his name, " Mayank.."
Mayank turned to see her . his expression was of aloofness, almost disinterested.

Mayank: "yes?"

His tone told her this was not going to be easy.

Nupur: " errmmm… as you heard, we have to work together and …"

Nupur: ( ignoring her impulse to stamp her foot like a kid) " and… its my favorite novel…"

Mayank: just stood with his arms folded on his chest, waiting for her to continue.

Nupur: (taking a deep breath again) " Mayank we have to work on this project together so…"

Mayank: "I know that much…I haven't read the novel as am not into romantic literature, but I will watch the movie by tonight so we can start working together from tommorow. "
Nupur just stood there staring at him until he turned wrote something on a piece of paper and gave it to her.

Mayank: " my number."

Nupur: " thanks…"

Maaynk: " see you then…"

And he left her feeling strange. Mayank's polite behavior had intensified her guilt for the other night and now that they were working together Nupur had simply no idea what to do, except to wait for him to take the next move….
