CHECK THIS OUT BEFORE YOU READ THE STORY! CRUCIAL!

*Hides behind a heap of boxes, books, furniture and all sorts of armour from the angry messages, comments, the rotten vegetables and tomatoes thrown that were left in the fridge for a bit too long*

Hi everyone! So, as many of you may know, my name is 'sweety' and I have done a couple of stories that have been posted in this forum. However, for more than a year, I have been away because of workload from Year 12, and when Dil Mil Gaye finished, I just didn't have the heart to finish off my fanfiction.

But then I came on one day, and the amount angry and demanding messages for my fanfic, really touched my heart. Thanks to everyone who thought it was worth continuing and wanting to read it till the end 😳

Which is why when I opened my story on word doc, I was once again really in the mood to start writing and posting again.

So the point of this overly long note is to apologise for disappearing on my readers, and a promise to finish off the story.

I decided to make a new thread for this story as a fresh start. Hopefully my old readers would recognise this and continue to read, and hopefully some new readers would join in 😊

For the people who would like a summary of this story, here it is:

Title: Dil Dosti Etc..
Characters: Armaan
Ridhima
Atul
Anjali
Rahul
Muskaan
Rajeev
Other minor characters from DMG...as well as some
others that will b introduced later
Summary: It is a story about the journey of Armaan and Ridhima
finding it within their hearts to trust again...become friends...
fall in love...and face all the things that come in between...
Takes place after the episode in which Ridhima pretends to
have been raped by Vivek...

And here are a few parts others will follow shortly 😊

Part 1

Dil Dosti Etc...
He stared at her, after everything that had happened he wasn't so sure if they could even breathe the same air as each other, let alone be in the same room together.

He knew that whatever he had said to her had been hurtful but that didn't mean that whatever she did was acceptable.

Shaking his head he got back to reality, taking all his things from his locker he went out making sure he bumped his shoulders with her in the way.

Giving a brief glance back he was amused to see how she stopped dead in her tracks and turned around to glare at him.

********

Opening her eyes, she looked at the clock, 5:00 am.

Groaning she rolled over and tried to go back to sleep for half an hour but it was no use, she was wide awake.

Getting up, she decided to get ready and be early at Sanjeevani today.

She reached Sanjeevani around 6:30 am when she saw his bike. Hatred filled her as she remembered everything he had said to her.

She didn't think it was right the way he treated her despite her constant apologizing.

In her daze she started walking towards the locker area when suddenly something hard bumped against her shoulder almost making her lose her balance.

After she regained it she turned around to see the most annoying man on earth.

Glaring she turned around and walked back into the locker room. Grabbing her things from her locker she waited around the locker area for everyone else to arrive.

There was no way she was going to be outside with him.

She couldn't even breathe the same air as him, let alone be in the same room together

This chapter introduces another character into the story...I tried making this chapter longer
Dil Dosti Etc...

Recap

Grabbing her things from her locker she waited around the locker area for everyone else to arrive. There was no way she was going to be outside with him.
She couldn't even breather the same air as him let alone be in the same room together.

Part 2

Rain, unexpected rain in the streets of Mumbai. People immediately opened their umberellas to shield themselves against it, and the people who didn't have any umbrellas ran for cover.

One of those people happened to be Rajeev Singh. Trying to reach work on time, he ended up forgetting his umbrella at his house.

Walking on the main road, he prayed to god that it wont rain today, but god wasn't exactly going to listen to his wishes.

********

Mr. Malhotra was again late to office. It was after all his fault he could never get up on time to get ready, and if he did get ready on time, he could never find his things.

Quickly glancing at the watch he cursed. He was supposed to reach his office in 5 minutes.

Closing his eyes he prayed to god, that today he could reach office on time.

Cursing again he honked at the car in front of him.

It wasn't really the car's fault that he was stuck in this traffic but it felt good to release a bit of his frustration.

Massaging his head he started up making excuses in his head to tell his manager why he was late for work...

just then he was startled out of his thoughts by his phone ringing. Lowering the volume of the car stereo, he picked up his phone.

"haan jaan, just stuck in traffic'.yeah I'll get the milk on my way back" Mr. Malhotra said.

The traffic started moving slowly and soon, the cars started moving a bit faster, allowing Mr. Malhotra to go on his way to his office. Sighing he looked at the clock...he was 5 minutes late'

"what? No'no'I am driving now, Jaan. I should put down the phone In case I am caught. Ha ha, I doubt he would accept just 10 bucks. Accha now'.what who's coming?" Mr. Malhotra asked, as he switched on the wipers of his car. He was glad that it was raining, now at least he had an excuse to be late.

'Sir, it was raining, and you know how the traffic gets when it rains.'

Smirking he turned a corner, and speeded a bit.

"Yaar, I hate them! So what if they are in our building'so what if they helped us once...I don't care, no we are not having them over for'OH SHIT!"

Mr. Malhotra tried to turn his car from banging into a man, crossing the road. But, the wet roads were slippery and his car skidded, making the car slam into the man sideways.

********

Dum Dum Dum

Rajeev opened his eyes,

'Where is this noise from? What am I doing on the floor'wait it is a road'what the hell am I doing lying down in the middle of a road?!?"

trying to move his hands or anything, he felt as though there was a weight on him, which was not allowing him to move any part of his body.

Slowly he closed his eyes, and opened them again...his eyes came back in focus. There were lots of people surrounding him.

They were all looking down on him with concern and some would turn and talk to the person standing next to them.
But all he could hear was, 'dum dum dum.'

Closing his eyes again, he tried to make the sound go away, slowly he could start hearing the sound of cars, rain and someone shouting at someone.

He opened his eyes again and he could feel the rain fall on his face...he turned his head on the side and saw red.

He could see something very dark, seeping from very near his head, and when it mixed with water, it turned to light red.

"Listen I am not drunk it is 8:30 in the morning! Do you actually think I would drink so early in the morning?"

Rajeev tried to look at the person shouting, but the people surrounding him blocked the view.

He tried to move his legs, but a sharp pain shot through him, making him shout out.

Suddenly everyone around him went quiet and looked at him as though he was an alien from outer space'too afraid to touch but determined not to let it out of their site.

The last thing he heard before darkness took over was the distant sound of an ambulance coming.
********

All interns report to the nurse station please.

Armaan, who was already standing at the nurse station, gave a look around.

No one was there yet. Closing his eyes he rested his head against the wall.

The memories came flooding back to him...

Armaan was running around scared. There was a desperate feeling in his stomach. Looking into the fire escape, he didn't see anyone. Hope was fading fast, his breath was becoming short and his heart was beating fast with worry.

"Hey, Armaan! Where are you lost yaar?"

Opening his eyes, he saw Atul's smiling face. Next to him were Muskaan and Rahul.

Smiling at all three of them he said, "hey guys, just tired, so thought of closing my eyes for awhile."

"just don't let Hitler see you, otherwise she might just end up cracking it at you. Also yaar, I need your help with something." Atul said.

"Let me guess the problem is Anjie?" Armaan said rolling his eyes.

"Haan yaar! How did you know? Anyways I was thinking of surprising Anjali with something'any suggestions?" Atul asked putting his arms around Armaan's shoulder.

However Armaan didn't get to reply because at that very moment, doctor Keerti came along with everyone else.

"Doctor Atul and Doctor Muskaan, you are in the Path lab today. Doctor Rahul and Doctor Anjali, you are in the general ward. Doctor Ridhima and Doctor Armaan, you two have a new case today'.Rajeev Singh. Oh and Doctor Rahul and Doctor Muskaan, after you have finished your respective duties, you both go to the Children's ward. Dr. Atul and Dr. Anjali, you two will handle the path lab after Dr. Muskaan and Dr. Rahul leave for the children's ward. Any problems?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"Good now get to work." Dr. Keerti said.

.I am colour-coding the Armaan and Ridhima's POV (point of view) as it makes it easier to read the fanfic...hope you like it and please do comment! 😃
Ridhima Armaan
Part 3

Armaan was purposely walking behind Ridhima, giving her all the space she needed.

The last thing he need was another fight, right in the middle of the hall of the hospital'very near to Dr. Shashank's office.

Ridhima walked into the room, ignoring Armaan who was behind her.

She smiled at Rajeev and proceeded towards his bed.

She took the file beside Rajeev's bed and went through it. Taking her stethoscope, she turned to say something to Armaan, but before she could, Armaan snatched the report from her hand and started going through it himself.

Glaring at him, Ridhima turned towards Rajeev only to find him staring at her.

Frowning she took the stethoscope and noted his breathing.

"you are breathing alright...there doesn't seem to be a problem and you just have a fracture on your leg, but we will still do some tests just to make sure everything else is alright." Ridhima said, putting the stethoscope around her neck.

"Whatever you say doc!" Rajeev said, giving her a wink.

Ridhima immediately froze at the mention of 'doc'. Vivek used to call her that. All those memories came flooding back to her.

She was running, as fast as she could in those heels when suddenly she tripped and grabbed onto the tree in front of her for support.

She turned around to see how far he was from her and whether she had a chance to run away.

But he was right behind her.

She put her hands together to plead to him to stop, but he kept coming towards her

"Please mujhe chor do! Please!"

Vivek just smirked and kept coming towards her. He got hold of hr dupatta, and help it up high, mocking her.

The tears were flowing freely now, her whole body was shaking and it was a wonder that she could still stand on her two feet.

She closed her eyes, wishing it will all disappear, and go away...hoping that it was a bad dream, but when she opened her eyes, he was still there, and a lot more closer than he was before.

She whimpered and pleaded to him again. He just smirked and started leaning his head towards her.

She closed her eyes expecting the worst, but it never came.

Then she heard a cold voice, "chod usse"

She opened her eyes to find Armaan standing behind Vivek, with a hand on his shoulder, stopping him from coming closer to Ridhima.

He looked at her for a brief second before he turned back to Vivek.

She felt a shiver go down her spine.

His eyes, they had turned completely dark. From green, to a very dark brown.

They had turned cold, and full of anger, but they still provided her with a sense of comfort.

********

Armaan quickly looked up when he heard "doc".

He immediately looked at Ridhima who had gone into a daze'no doubt thinking about that night.

Rolling his eyes for caring, he cleared his throat, half because he wanted Ridhima to snap out of her daze and half because he wanted Rajeev to turn his attention towards him'away from Ridhima.

"I think you should go to sleep now, because the more rest you get, the better." Armaan said, putting the file back in its place.

Rajeev nodded, and gave another glance at Ridhima, who avoided both their eyes.

Part 3

Ridhima
Armaan Rajeev

Turning over in his bed, he glanced at the tubes sticking out of his arms. Sighing his thoughts drifted to Dr. Ridhima.

Smirking he thought how pretty she looked when she stepped in the room and how nervous she seems when she noticed his constant staring.

He couldn't get her out of his head....no matter how much he tried, he couldn't.

Smiling he turned over and hugged his pillow, trying to go back to sleep'and dream the dreams in which Ridhima was his.

Yawning, he slowly opened his eyes, and saw Ridhima standing beside his bed, looking at the file, and holding the stethoscope in her hand.

He stared at her, not being able to take his eyes off her'taking in her simple beauty.

The way her green eyes skimmed over the report, the way she unknowingly fiddled with the stethoscope in her hands'the way she was frowning in concentration'the way her hair would occasionally blow, making her appear like an angel.

Smirking he sighed quietly and stared at the beauty in front of him.

Ridhima could feel someone staring at her, looking up she was met with dark brown eyes. Frowning, she went back to studying his file'

"what's up doc?" Rajeev asked, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips.
Ridhima scowled and looked up.

"Mr. Malhotra...I am your doctor, and it is best if we stay on formal terms. Therefore I would appreciate it if you called me 'Doctor' or 'Doctor Ridhima' instead of 'Doc'." She said in a cold voice

Rajeev chose to ignore the coldness in her voice and leaned closer towards her and said with his eyebrows raised,

"What? Afraid you will get too close to me?"

Ridhima snapped her head back when she realized how close he had gotten.

Casting her eyes down, she took her stethoscope and checked his breathing. She noted some things down in her file and said,

"Dr. Armaan should be coming later today with your reports from the tests taken this morning. If he doesn't come, then'.I will"

With that said, Ridhima went out of the room, without sparing Rajeev another glance.

Rajeev sighed, and leaned back in the bed, folding his arms behind his head, he said to himself,

"You have gone crazy Rajeev'absolutely crazy'"

Laughing, he turned over, and went back to sleep.

Dil Dosti Etc...
Part 5
Armaan walked into the locker room, completely drained of energy, and lay down on the bench, folding an arm over his eyes to block out the light''he had done a lot of work today.

He had tried his best to stay away from Ridhima'stopped Rahul and Muskaan from physically hurting each other'.and he had to listen to Nana lecture him'.all this had completely drained all the energy off him.

Sighing, he tried to get a quick nap, but he felt someone's presence next to him. Without opening an eye, he knew who it was.

"What do you want Ridhima?"

He heard a gasp, and smiled.

"what? How? How did you know it was me?"

"trust me, you don't even want me to begin'because if I do, then I won't be able to stop, which will drain a lot of energy out of me'which would effect my good looks'.which would be hazardous to the female population'.which I doubt you even belong to." He said, all the while keeping an arms over his eyes.

He smirked again, when he felt Ridhima's glare, and he knew that she would be standing there with her hands on her hips, her eyes narrowed and her lips pursed.

"What do you want basket?" He asked, getting up and yawning.

Ridhima rolled her eyes, and said,

"You know Rajeev right? Our patient?...well'I was wondering if you could take his reports this evening and discuss them with him?"

Ridhima was looking at Armaan squarely in the eye, almost daring for him to say no.

"No" He said simply, offering no explanation.

"What? Why?" Ridhima asked exasperated.

"Because" Armaan said, looking her in he eye. He smiled inwardly'how he loved making Ridhima mad.

"Armaan stop speaking in monosyllables" Ridhima said, crossing her arms over her chest, and narrowing her eyes at him.

"alright..fine..I can't do it, because'he is your patient too, and you shouldn't go around handing over your duties to someone else." Armaan said, imitating her pose.

Ridhima sighed and looked at Armaan with tired eyes.

"look, Armaan, please do this, I am really exhausted and I don't think I will be able to this properly. Please" Ridhima pleaded.

Armaan's eyes softened, and he ran a hand through his hair.

"fine, I will do it'but this is the last time I will do a favour for you Ridhima'you have a bad habit of taking things to the extreme" Armaan said, referring to that night where she had played that horrible prank.

With that said, he walked out of the room, leaving Ridhima standing there, her head bowed, and tears swimming in her eyes.

Sighing Ridhima sat down and put her head in her hands. She still remembered the prank she had played.

She agreed that it wasn't acceptable what she did, but he always brought out the worst in her.

Slowly wiping her tears, she went on with her work, with Armaan's words still ringing in the back of her head.

you have a bad habit of taking things to the extreme

Part 6
RidhimaArmaanRajeev

Armaan sighed as he walked down the hall towards Rajeev's room to discuss his reports with him.

The report weren't so good…there was hope, but the case was complicated. Taking in a deep breath, he gingerly opened the door.

Peeking his head in, he saw Rajeev sitting on his bed, with his back towards the door, on his mobile oblivious to Armaan standing in the room.

"mein ne kaha na, ki mujhe thoda aur time chahiye!" Rajeev hissed into the phone.

Armaan frowned a bit, but cleared his throat to get Rajeev's attention.

Rajeev's head snapped up as he saw Armaan standing there with a file in his hand.

"haan, sun mein tujhse baad mein baat kara hoon…bye" Rajeev said and he shut the phone.

"Ah, Dr. Malik…kaise aana hua?" Rajeev asked with a smirk, lying back down on the bed.

"well, I am your doctor to start off with…so I can pretty much come anytime…however today I wanted to discuss your reports with you" Armaan said, lifting up the reports in his hand slightly.

"oh…so Ridhima is not here?" Rajeev asked disappointed.

"Doctor Ridhima…or doctor Gupta" Armaan snapped.

He had no idea why he snapped, but he felt a sudden irritation towards Rajeev when he said Ridhima's name.

Rajeev's smirk reappeared and he cocked his head to the side, however he didn't say anything.

Taking in a deep breath, Armaan went towards Rajeev's bed and sat down on the stool next to it.

"So, as I said, I am here to discuss your reports"

****************

Walking down the halls, Ridhima passed Rajeev's room. She quickly stopped and peeked in to make sure Armaan was there – he was.

Breathing in a sigh of relief she saw Rajeev reclining on the bed, while Armaan had his back towards the door, talking to Rajeev.

She decided to go inside and see the reports for herself. Quietly opening the door, she stopped in her tracks when she heard what Armaan said.

"…which is why I think you should get the surgery" Armaan finished.

"Surgery?" Ridhima asked, confused.

How serious were the injuries? Ridhima thought but then again, why the hell do I care?

Both Rajeev and Armaan turned towards Ridhima's direction. Rajeev threw her a huge grin, which she ignored and walked towards Armaan, taking the report from his hand. Looking at the reports she saw-

"Internal bleeding…in the brain…we have to stop it before it gets worse." Armaan said.

"Don't worry, Doc, nothing will happen to me in the surgery. I am very strong…I will be fine…don't worry about me" Rajeev said, giving her a wink. Ridhima rolled her eyes, and turned towards Armaan.

"When is the surgery scheduled?" Ridhima asked.

"not sure…we will have to ask Dr. Keerti" Armaan said, taking the reports from her hands and putting them away safely.

Ridhima nodded and turned towards Rajeev,

"you should rest" she said softly, and walked out before he could say anything.

Part 7

Sighing Ridhima closed her eyes and turned over on her bed.

She still remembered the look on Armaan's face when he found out that she had lied to him…just to make him angry.

The look of betrayal and hurt was evident on his face, but it was too late by then…too late for Ridhima to take back whatever she had done.

How she wished she could…how she wished she could go back to how hers and Armaan's relationship was…she had betrayed his trust in her…by playing such a ridiculous joke…she had lost her respect in his eyes.

Closing her eyes she tried to stop the tears that were threatening to spill. She hugged her teddy bear closer, and let out another sigh.

Getting out of bed, she slowly walked towards the balcony. Letting her hands rest on the railing she looked around, letting the breeze play with her hair…dry her tears.

She remembered all the times Armaan had tried to win her trust…tried to become her friend.

A small smile rested on her lips as she remembered the time he was standing in the rain...a small laugh escaped her as she thought about all the times he had teased her harmlessly.

He was a true friend…always there for you when in need…whether it was something big or not, he was always there to help you out.

Ridhima felt a pang in her heart as she realized what a true friend she had lost…how foolish she had been.

She shivered as another strong breeze flew past her. Wiping the tears, she wrapped her robe tighter around herself.

"Hey, Ridz! Yahaan kya kar rahi hai?"

Ridhima whipped around and saw Anjali standing behind her with a concerned look on her face.

"y-yeah di…just..um…getting fresh air" Ridhima said, looking everywhere but at Anjali.

"hmm" Anjali said, unconvinced.

"ok di, I'll go to sleep now…good night" Ridhima said, her head bowed down as she walked back to her bed.

Lying down, she closed the bed lamp, turned her back to Anjali and pretended to go back to sleep.

Closing her eyes, she prayed that Anjali would also go back to sleep, and not probe the situation any further.

She let out a sigh of relief as she heard Anjali switch off her own bedside lamp and mutter a soft 'good night' to Ridhima.

Next morning, Ridhima woke up later than usual and didn't have much time to get ready.

Half of the night had gone in Ridhima trying to prepare how to say sorry to Armaan…and win back his trust.

Quickly combing her hair, she put on some kajal and lipstick, and rushed out of her room.

"arey…Ridhima beti!...naashta toh kar le!" Nani shouted.

"Nahi Nani…time nahin hai!" Ridhima quicly rushed out of the house and went on to the main road to find an auto rickshaw.

Running to the locker room, she was disappointed to see it was empty…which meant she was terribly late.

Quickly grabbing her lab coat and her stethoscope, she dumped all her other stuff on the bench and ran out of the locker room to the nurse station.

************

Armaan's eyes scanned the hospital halls for the fifth time…but no sign of her.

He cursed at himself again for looking for her and caring…but he couldn't help it when his eyes scanned the hospital halls again.

"yaar…aaj toh Ridzi bohot late ho gayi..agar Dr. Keerti aa gayi…tab toh she is dead!" Muskaan said.

"I know yaar…hey Anjie…who tumhare saath nahin aayi?" Atul asked.

"Nahin Atul…she usually catches a rickshaw…but today I had to come early so that's why I don't know where she is….I am a bit worried for her…kal raat ko bhi woh…" Anjali trailed off.

Armaan frowned and opened his mouth to ask what happened last night…but just then Dr. Keerti came.

"morning interns" Dr. Keerti said, her eyes scanning the group of interns.

"where is Dr. Ridhima?" She asked, her eyes narrowed.

Everyone avoided answering that question…looking here and there.

"I said, where is Dr. Ridhima?" She said in a low dangerous voice.

"I am here Dr. Keerti!" came a reply, from afar.

Armaan quickly looked up and saw Ridhima running towards their direction, her lab coat in one hand, and her stethoscope in the other.

She finally stopped next to Anjali, panting. Her cheeks were flushed, her hair was a bit messy from the running and her eyes were wide in fear.

Armaan snapped out of his trance of staring at Ridhima when he heard Dr. Keerti.

"Dr. Ridhima…you are 10 minutes late!...this is absolutely unacceptable…this is your last warning…if you are late once again, then I won't be the one talking to you…you will be sent directly to Dr. Shashank!" Dr. Keerti warned.

Armaan looked at Ridhima and saw her eyes wide in fear, nodding her head vigorously.

Armaan kept in the chuckle threatening to escape his mouth, from the fear of being scolded by Dr. Keerti as well…but he couldn't help but think how adorable Ridhima looked.

His eyes widened as he realized what he had just thought of.

Scolding himself for thinking such things, he turned his attention towards Dr. Keerti who was announcing everyone's duties.

Part 8
RidhimaArmaanRajeev

Ridhima glanced at Armaan from under her lashes...there he was, standing with a patient's file in his hand, smiling and joking with the patient.

Sighing, she placed the file back in its place, and turned towards her patient...Amrita.

"Um...so you health is improving, just keep taking your medicines on time, and you will be out of here in no tiime" Ridhima said smiling.

Looking towards Armaan, she saw him placing the file back in its, place and saying some parting words to the patient.

This is my chance Ridhima thought, and started walking towards Armaan.

She saw Armaan look up, and gave him a hesitant smile. However her smile faltered when she saw his eyes going cold and hard.

He immediately turned around and started walking away from her...towards the door.

"Armaan!" Ridhima called out, her hand raised halfway.

He didn't turn around....he walked outside the door of the General Ward, and turned the corner...disappearing from her view.

Ridhima sighed, and rubbed her forehead...a headache was coming, but she just ignored it and went on with her work hoping to catch Armaan again...and this time she will make sure he doesn't escape.

Armaan looked down at his patient...Mr Rasoi.

"So Mr.Rasoi...how are you today?...any aches or pains?...any nausea?" Armaan asked, looking at the file in his hand.

"Hai Ram...ab hum apko kya pataye?...meri biwi ne toh mera jeena mushkil kar diya hai!...kal raat ko jab woh khana leke aayi...tabhi ek nurse bhi khana leke aa gayi...ab toh aap hi soch lijiye ki kitna sun na para mujhko...abhi bhi mere kaan goonj rahe hain" Mr Rasoi said, rubbing his ear for the extra effect.

Armaan laughed and patted Mr. Rasoi's arm.

"I know sir...ladkiyon ka...ab kya patayein?" Armaan said, with a smile.

"anyway, your reports look pretty good to me, just keep taking your medicines on time" Armaan said, putting the file back in its place.

Putting the stethoscope back around his neck, he was just fixing his collar when he heard the quick clicking of heels, coming towards him.

Glacing up, he saw Ridhima walking towards him, with a small smile on her face.

His heart skipped a beat...but suddenly memories flashed through his face of the time she had pulled that prank...his eyes narrowed, and all the warmness in them disappeared.

He saw her smile falter, and he quickly spun around, before he could see her hurt face.

He quickly started walking towards the door, and prayed to god that she won't follow him.

He still heard the loud clicking of heels...now even faster.

He almost stopped when he heard Ridhima shout out his name.

He started walking faster and almost ran when he turned the corner....He leaned against the wall when he walked into the fire-escape.

He knew he was being a jerk...he had heard from Anjali that last night Ridhima had stayed most of the night thinking of something.

He was dying to know what had Ridhima worried....he wanted to be there for her...to comfort her...but those memories would always come back...to haunt him of the pain he had endured.

It was very tough to trust someone once they had broken it...he had told Ridhima he liked her...he had trusted her as his friend...but she just threw it away like it was nothing important.

Fury grew in him....he pressed his hands to his eyes to stop the tears that were threatening to spill. Taking a deep breath, he composed himself, and went on with his work, hoping not to have another interaction with Ridhima.

Part 9
RidhimaArmaanRajeev

Scowling Ridhima sat down on the chair and folded her arms over her chest.

Armaan had managed to escape not one...not two...but three times!

Sighing dejectedly, She crossed her legs and slumped further into the chair.

"Kya hua Ridzi?"

She snapped her head up and saw Anjali sitting in the chair opposite hers.

Pouting, she said, "nothing di"

"C'mon Ridzi...pata na...kya baat hai?....tu kal raat se pareshaan hai...kya baat hai?" Anjali asked.

Giving up, she uncrossed her legs, and leaned closer to the table.

"You know Armaan di?...I have been trying to talk to him since morning...par woh mujhe ignore karte rehta hai!...what am I supposed to do di?" Ridhima asked.

Ridhima's mouth dropped open when Anjali started laughing.

"accha di...apko ab hassi aa rahi hai meri problem pe?" Ridhima asked, leaning back into the chair and crossing her arms and legs once more.

"arrey nahi nahi Ridzi....oh god yeh problem thi?...oh my gosh Ridzi, tune toh mujhe dara diya tha....mein kal raat se soch rahi thi ki pata nahi kitni bari prorblem hai.....arrey tum aur Armaan toh jhagarte rehte ho.....don't worry everything will be alright yaar....just give him some time...tu bhi na Ridzi, sab ko darra deti hai..." Anjali said, shaking her head at Ridhima for her foolishness.

Ridhima blushed, and looked down...

"sorry di...so you think I should ignore him?" Ridhima asked, looking up at Anjali once again.

"umm...well if the fault is yours...then you should aplogise...if not...then ignore him and wait for him to apologise." Anjali said

"but, I tried apologising...par wo meri baat sunta nahi hai!" Ridhima exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air, and crossing her arms again.

Anjali giggled and said,

"well so the fault is yours....then keep trying to aplogise I'll say...par agar woh phir bhi nahin sunnta...then give him some time to cool down...slowly gain his trust back again....but this behaviour is so unlike Armaan...what did you guys fight about?" Anjali asked, suspiciously.

"umm woh...di...." Ridhima stammered...looking up she saw Armaan passing by..."Di...woh Armaan hai wahaan par....I'll go and apologise again...ok bye di!" Ridhima finished hurridly...and ran out of the canteen, before Anjali could ask her anything else.

Letting out a sigh of relief, she went in the direction Armaan had gone...this time she would do something different...she had tried talking to him after he had finished with his patients...she had tried cornering him in the fire-escape...she had tried aplogising in the canteen...all those times he had ran away with some excuse or the other.

This time she would make sure he didn't escape...

Armaan sighed as he leaned against the wall'.he had tried almost every excuse to get away from Ridhima'.Sighing, he banged his head once more against the wall....but his eyes snapped open when he heard the clicking of heels again...this time they were much closer...and he had a sinking feeling that he was not going to get away this time.

Ridhima had lost Armaan again...she had gone in the direction he had...but couldn't find him anywhere.

Frowning she pressed her fingers to her temples....the headache was worse now...Closing her eyes, she tried to make it go away...but it wouldn't....Ridhima pressed harder...but didn't find any relief.

Groaning, she opened her eyes, but everything seemed darker now...Blinking a few times, she found her focus again, and looked around to find Armaan.

Walking around...she found him leaning against a wall in the hall.

Smiling triumphantly she almost ran towards his direction, but stopped again when things started getting darker.

Squinting her eyes, she tried focussing on Armaan...She could make out everything...but it all seemed darker...it was almost like she had put on dark sunglasses....or the lights had gone out in this building.

Closing her eyes...she counted to three and opened them again...she could see everything clearly now...Armaan, who had realized she was coming to talk to him, was trying to make his escape again

"Armaan!" Ridhima called out.

Armaan stopped dead in his tracks and turned around, looking at her sheepishly.

"Armaan I need to-" She stopped again, when things started turning dark...the pain in her head was worse...taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, and tried to make the pain go away.

"Ridhima?" She heard Armaan's concerned voice.

She tried opening her mouth to say something...anything...but no sound would come out...her body was only focussing on the paiin in her head...she felt like everything was slipping away...she felt like she was falling...she wanted to scream for help...but finally her body couldn't fight the pain, and darkness took over her...

But the last thing she heard was Armaan shouting her name, and the feel of his hands around her body.

Part 10
Looking at Ridhima lying unconscious in his arms, he felt the colour draining from his face.

"Ridhima?" He shook her slightly, "Ridhima?...Ridhima aankhein kholo, please...Ridhima?" He said, his voice getting louder by each passing second.

"NURSE? SOMEONE HELP!" Armaan shouted,as he held her securely in his arms.

"yes sir..sir what happened?" One of the nurses asked.

"get a stretcher quickly" Armaan said as he felt Ridhma's pulse.

It was very weak..

"Yes sir" The nurse said and ran from there in search of a stretcher.

"C'mon Ridhima, wake up yaar" Armaan whispered, he could feel the tears prickling at the end of his eyes.

"ARMAAN?..YEH RIDHIMA KO KYA HUA?"

Armaan looked up to see Anjali running towards them, with a shocked expression on her face.

"Ridzi?...Ridzi, utho, please...oh god, yeh kya hua isse Armaan?" Anjali asked, as she kneeled down next to Armaan holding Ridhima's hand.

"I don't know, she fainted...has she had anything to eat?" Armaan asked.

"I am not sure" Anjali said helplessly, "have you checked her pulse?"

"yeah, very weak...where is the stretcher?" Armaan asked frustrated.

He saw the nurse running with the stretcher with the help of a few wardboys.

Armaan quickly got up with Ridhima securely in his arms, and gently put her on the stretcher.

Putting his hand on the stretcher, he ran along with it, all the while praying Ridhima would be aright.

Ridhima scrunched up her eyes...the headache was lighter...it was like a dull pain now.

She tried opening her mouth to make some noise, but her lips and her throat were completely dry.

Swallowing she tried clearing her throat...she could fee someone holding onto her hand.

Slowly opening her eyes, she was momentarily blinded by the light. She closed them again.

Groaning, she opened her mouth, and licked her lips.

how long have I been out for?" She wondered

"Ridzi?" A voice asked from next to her...she guessed it was the person holding her hand.

She couldn't say anything, groaning, again, she slowly opened her eyes and let her eyes slowly focus.

She saw Anjali sitting next to her with a worried expression on her face, and he rest of her intern group standing behind her.

She saw Atul standing behind Anjali, with a hand on her shoulder...she saw Rahul standing next to him, his hand in his pockets....she saw Muskaan standing next to him, fiddling with her dupatta...and finally her eyes rested on Armaan, who was leaning against the wall, looking straight at her.

She smiled at them slightly, and turned back to Anjali.

"tune to humein darra diya tha Ridzi!..kuch bhi nahi khaya kal se?...what the hell Ridz, you have to take care of yourself!" Anjali scolded.

Ridhima sighed, and squeezed her hand slightly,

"I am sorry" Ridhima's voice was a bit hoarse.

"you should be!" Anjali said, frowning and crossing her arms over her chest.

Ridhima smiled slightly and put one hand on her ear.

"sorry di...aage se pakka mein apna khayaal rakhungi"

Anjali took one look at Ridhima and all her anger melted away...coming closer to her she gave Ridhima a tight hug.

"please don't scare us again like this" Anjali whispered in her ear. Ridhima could only nod.

"are you feeling better Dr Ridhima?"

Ridhima looked up and saw Dr. Keerti standing there at the door.

Ridhima immediately swallowed hard and prepared herself for a lecture.

"do you know how careless you were, by not eatiing?...your iron is already dangerously low and by not eating you were just being completely careless!...also I have noticed that you have not been taking your iron tablets for a long time...Dr. Ridhima as a doctor you should know how important it is to keep your iron levels normal!" Dr. Keerti shouted, shaking her head.

Ridhima looked down in shame as she felt Anjali's glare.

"I am sorry ma'am" Ridhima said softly

"interns!...aap logon ki duty hain ya nahin?...please get back to duty this instant!" Dr. Keerti said, before storming out of the room.

"chal yaa humein chalna chahiye...warna hitler aur gussa ho jayegi" Atul said.

"Take care Ridhima" Atul said as he patted her on the back.

"yeah, take care Riddhima" Rahul said, giving her a smile.

"please yaar take care of yourself ridz" Muskaan said, as she gave her a hug.

"bye Ridzi" Anjali said, before giving her a tight hug.

Ridhima said a soft bye, and then her eyes fell on Armaan who had still not moved from his position.

This was her chance to apologise...she opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off by Anjali

"chalein Armaan?" Anjali asked as she stopped near the door.

"huh?...y-yeah" Armaan said.

"bye Ridhima...take care" Armaan said softly and took a last look at her before leaving.

Ridhima sighed and laid back on the bed
She will just have to wait a bit longer to talk to Armaan in private

Sighing she rubbed her eyes, and closed them....it was almost night, and Dr. Keerti had just come to tell her that she could be discharged.

All she had to do was wait for the papers to come.

Sighing, she rested her hands on her stomach.

"Ridhima?" A husky voice came from the door.

Ridhima looked up, and saw Armaan standing there, with his hands in his pockets.

Giving him a smile, she motioned him to sit beside her with her hand.

He gave her a small smile and slid into the stool beside her bed.

"Hi Armaan" Ridhima said, the smile still there on her face.

She was extremely happy to see him...finally she had time to talk to him alone...finally she had time to aplogise to him.

Taking in a deep breath, Armaan said, "Hey basket"

Ridhima's smile widened as she heard her nickname.

"um...so..." Ridhima said, as she racked her brains to find somewhere to start off her aplogy.

"I...a-actually...just, you know....wanted to know how you were doing, and all" Armaan said, not meeting her eyes as he said that.

"I am good...better than before...I am getting discharged soon" Ridhima said.

"That's good" Armaan said, finally looking her in the eyes and smiling.

Ridhima found herself smiling back at him.

Licking her lips, Ridhima opened her mouth to start off her apology.

"umm...actually...Armaan?" Ridhima said

"yeah?" Armaan asked

"woh...a-actually...I wanted to say something to you" Ridhima said, as she stared at her hands.

"haan, bolo" Armaan said, concerned.

Taking in a deep breath, Ridhima said,

"woh...actually...Armaan....I wanted to apologise" Ridhima said.

When she didn't hear Armaan say anything, she took this as a cue to continue.

"I wanted to aplogise, for what I did...how unfair I was,....it wasn't fair for me to play such a prank on you...I myself can't believe I did something like this...I am really very sorry...I broke our friendship, I betrayed your trust in me, and I feel disgusted at myself for playing such a prank on you....I am really very sorry Armaan, I really didin't mean to go to such extent" Ridhima said, still looking down at her hands, which were now fiddling with the blanket.

Tears were threatening to spill, but she felt good inside.

It felt as though a huge weight had een lifted off her chest, and this made her feel so much lighter...it almost felt like she could breathe again.

She still didn't hear Armaan say anything, worried now, Ridhima looked up to see Armaan with an expressionless face.

"Armaan?" Ridhima asked, worried and scared. She had done the right thing, and apologised...but was it too late now?

Part 12
RidhimaArmaanRajeev

Ridhima stared at Armaan, the tears brimming at the corner of her eyes.

"Armaan?" She whispered. A lump had formed in her throat...

What did I do wrong?...why isn't Armaan saying anything?...Is it too late?...oh god, I really hope it's not, please!

Ridhima slightly closed her eyes and prayed to god.

Swallowing the lump, she tried calling out to Armaan again.

"Armaan?" She said, a bit louder this time.

Armaan snapped out of his trance, and took one look at Ridhima before looking away.

He ran a hand through his hair, and looked at her again.

"Ridhima" He began.

"Ridhima...this was very unexpected...I mean I didn't really...I...don't know...Ridhima...I don't know if I can-" He was cut off by Ridhima.

"I know it'll be very hard for you to trust me again, and I am sorry Armaan...but please give me one more chance?...please?...let's start all over again...hi my name is Ridhima" She said, stretchiing out her hand.

She looked at Armaan expectantly, who just stared at the hand, then at Ridhima, and then at the hand again.

Armaan stared at the blanket Ridhima was fiddling with, a thousand thoughts going through his head.

Ridhima had just apologised to him and was waiting for an answer...

He almost opened his mouth to forgive her, and start over again, when suddenly a memory flashed through his head.

panting, he reached the terrace and looked around. His hope was vanising quickly.

"RIDHIMA?!" Armaan shouted, looking around frantically trying to find any signs of her...of Vivek.

The thought of him got Armaan's blood pounding through his veins.

Taking a deep breath he tried to calm himself down, but it was no use.

Running a hand through his hair, he had given up hope, and was close to crying. Ridhima was hurt and he coudn't do anything.

He wished he could, but where else could he look.

Turning towards the door, he was about to walk out when he saw something that caught his eye.

Turning around he saw somthing pink, going closer he realized it was Ridhima's dupatta.

Suddenly hopeful, adrenalin was pumping through his veins when he picked up the dupatta.

Looking around he tried finding signs of Ridhima.

"RIDHIMA?" He shouted again.

He knew she was here. If Vivek was holding her somewhere, he would find her and beat the hell out of Vivek.

He looked around frantically, and then he finally saw a shadow move towards him.

His arms automatically flexed to fight...if it was Vivek...he would be ready to make sure that this time he would not be able to walk out on those two legs of his out of here.

What he saw made him sigh in relief.

Ridhima was slowly walking towards him, he head slightly low....when she looked up, his heart nearly stopped.

feeling his stomach drop, he took a step towards Ridhima.

She looked so broken...so vulnerable. He felt a sudden need to protect and comfort her.

"Ridhima?...Ridhima?, kya hua?" Armaan asked, holding her shoulders and shaking her slightly.

She didn't respond, just kept looking down...

Armaan felt a pang in his heart.

"Where is he?" He asked in a deadly low voice.

When she didn't respond, he shook her some more.

"Ridhima, where is he?...VIVEK KAHAN HAI?...mein usse nahin chodoonga...I will kill him!" Armaan shouted.

Ridhima finally looked up, and what he saw broke his heart.

She had so much pain in her eyes.

A tear fell from her eye, and that was the most he could take....what his heart could take

Quickly grabbing her, he pulled her into a hug.

Holding her tight, he tried holding his rage.

He would not leave Vivek after this...

"gussa aya?"

Frowning, a chilling feeling crept into him.

Pulling away, he looked into her eyes in disbelief.

Any signs to prove what he was thinking was wrong.

There was no way, Ridhima woud pull such a sick prank...no way she would break his trust like this....

He searched her eyes for any signs...any

He didn't find any.

It was a prank.

"Armaan?" He heard Ridhima calling him, a hint of desperation in her voice.

He snapped out of his trance, and took one look at Ridhima before looking away.

am I going to do the right thing?...isn't it time I forgave and forgot?...but the pain is still very fresh..this is so confusing! He thought, running a hand through his hair and looking at Ridhima again.

It's now or never He thought, taking in a deep breath.

Taking her hand in his, he gave her a wide smile.

"Hi, I am Armaan...nice to meet you basket" He said, giving her a wink.

His smile widened as he heard Ridhima laugh.

Part 13
Enjoy guys!...thanks for waiting...sorry for the delay!
Yawning, Ridhima opened her eyes, and turned around to shut the alarm clock next on her bedside table.

Rubbing her eyes, she slowly got up from her bed and yawning, she made her way to the bathroom.

It had been a week since Armaan and her had become friends.

A small smile rested on her lips as she thought about him.

Quickly having a shower, Ridhima made her way downstairs to have breakfast.

"Good morning papa, good morning nani...good morning di" Ridhima said, cheerfully as she slipped next to Anjali and picked a toast.

"Good morning beta...so what's planned for today?" Shashank asked as he looked at Ridhima.

"I don't know...Hit- I mean Dr. Keerti will tell us what we will do" Ridhima mumbled and bit her lip for almost telling her father what their intern group called Dr. Keerti.

Shashank bent his head, and hid his smile, pretending he hadn't heard the name slip.

"good, good" Shashank said finally, beaming at his two daughters.

"Ridzi...hurry up and finish your breakfast...we are going to be late otherwise." Anjali said as she got up, and fetched for her car keys.

"haan di" Ridhima said, as she stuffed a big piece of toast in her mouth.

"arey Ridhima beta....araam se" Shashank said, as he watched her stuff down the toast.

"mmm..yeh...bhye...pupa" Ridhima said through her mouthful of toast.

Ridhima quickly grabbed her stuff and rushed outside to get into Anjali's car, before she drove off without her.

********

Armaan found himself looking towards the entrance of the locker room for the 5th time.

No sign of her.

Sighing her went back to fiddling with his locker.

Suddenly he heard the sound of payal, and he turned towards the door.

Smiling he left the locker, and crossed his arms, with a smirk, ready to greet Ridhima.

The payal sound got closer.

And he smirked some more.

it got closer...and closer.

Closing his eyes, he opened them slowly...only to see Muskaan walking towards him with a smile on her face.

"Hey, Hero!...kaisa hai tu?" Muskaan said, as she went to her locker.

"Muskaan?...tu?" Armaan asked in disbelief and disappointment.

"nahin...mein Muskaan ka bhooth hoon!...kya hua, subah subah naashte mein kya khaya tha" Muskaan asked, rolling her eyes.

"nahin..woh kuch nahin" Armaan said, as he went back to fiddling with his locker.

"ek minute!...tum payal pehenti ho?" Armaan asked, surprised.

"umm...yeah...woh..uh, mujhe present mila tha..." Muskaan said, flustered.

Armaan smirked, and went closer towards Muskaan.

Standing next to her, he leaned into the locker next to hers and crossed his arms.

"really...kisne diya?" Armaan asked, smirking.

"w-woh...umm...uh...woh, actually....Rahul ne nahi diya" Muskaan said, looking anywhere but at him.

"accha?...par mein ne Rahul kab kaha?" Armaan asked, smiling.

Muskaan paled, and then her eyes darted around, nervously.

Taking in a deep breath, she slowly turned towards him.

"w-woh....Armaan, mujhe Rahul ki mummy ne diya tha" Muskaan said, blushing and looking down.

Grinning, he straightened and asked,

"kyun?" raising his eyebrows.

"Armaan...tu doctor hain ya detective...subah subah chaaloo ho gaya" Muskaan said, glaring at him.

"kaun chaalo ho gaya"

His eyes darted towards the entrance of the locker room, and saw Ridhima entering followed by Anjali.

Completely forgetting about Muskaan, he tuned towards her, and lifted up his hand,

"hi basket" Armaan grinned at her, waving his hand.

"Hey Armaan" She said, with a small smile.

Sabhi interns, Nurse Station report karein

Sighing all the interns grabbed their things and went to the nurse station to get their duties announced.

Part 14

RidhimaArmaanRajeev

all the interns waited for Dr. Keerti to come and announce their duties.

"Interns...most of your duties today are going to be the same, except that Dr. Ridhima and Dr. Atul are going to be working in the children's ward...Dr. Armaan and Dr. Rahul are going to be working in the general ward, and Dr. Anjali and Dr. Muskaan are going to be working in the PATH lab...after those rounds have finished, all of you can go back to your cases that have been assigned to you....any problems?" Dr. Keerti asked.

Everyone shook their head.

"good...now, get to work" Dr. Keerti said and went from there to do her own work.

"Hey Ridz...chalein?" Atul asked.

Ridhima smiled and nodded.

Walking into the children's ward, Ridhima could feel the colour drain from her face.

It was a chaos....the kids were everywhere....they were on the floor, crying and shouting, they were jumping up and down on the bed....and the one's trying to sleep, could not, due to the racket in the room.

She looked sideways expecting to see the same look of horror on Atul's face, but she was surprised to see the look of joy and happiness on his face.

"YEAH!...HELLO KIDS!...LOOK WHO'S HERE!" Atul shouted, opening his arms.

All the kids looked at the door and then broke into a smile.

"Atul Bhaiya!" They shouted, and came and hugged him hard.

Ridhima couldn't help but laugh at the sight in front of her...this was going to be a long day

Armaan finished checking a patient and walked towards Rahul.

"so...when are you going to tell her?" Armaan asked.

Rahul spun around and saw Armaan standing behind him. Rolliing his eyes, he turned back towards the patient.

"tell who?" He asked.

Armaan rolled his eyes, and put a hand on Rahul's shoulder.

"dekh...mein jaanta hoon ki tu eik bohot bara idiot hain....I mean I still don't know how you became a doctor...but still how can you be so thick-headed?" Armaan asked, with a smirk.

Rahul pursed his lips and turned.

"tu kehna kya cha raha hai?" He asked

"dekh...Rahool....you and I work together...and you know, we have to talk someday...if not now...then when?" Armaan said, demonstrating with his hands as he spoke.

"Abey, yaar, tu bol kya raha hai?...seedhe point pe kyun nahi aata" Rahul said, irritated.

"dekh...as your friend I am ready to give you my tips on how to get any girl you want" Armaan said, with a grin.

The moment Rahul heard that, he doubled over in laughter.

"good...one" Rahul said while laughing.

"dude, I am not kidding...I am serious...look I know you have a thing for Muskaan and I am going to help you win her!" Armaan said, smiling proudly.

Rahul looked disbelievingly at Armaan,

"me...have a thing for...Muskaan....that churail?...that....jungli billi?...are you out of your mind?" Rahul asked, coming towards Armaan and putting a hand on his forehead.

"Nah...bookhaar toh nahin hain...then what happened...what did you eat for breakfast?" Rahul asked, looking at him strangely.

"nothing...so you don't like Muskaan?" Armaan asked, confused.

then why did Rahul's mom give Muskaan the payal? He wondered.

"nahin yaar...dimaag kharab hain kya?...mein usse...chii!" Rahul exclaimed as he shuddered.

"oh...I thought you liked Muskaan" Armaan said, still confused.

"dude, that's like saying you like Ridhima....the way you guys fight, you give me and Muskaan hard competition" Rahul said,, winking at Armaan.

Armaan rolled his eyes, and punched Rahul on the shoulder.

"Shut up yaar...me and basket?...no way!" Armaan said, chuckling.

However as he said that, he wasn't sure if he was telling the whole truth.

"Atul!!..I need your help NOW!!" Ridhima screamed. A kid was not leaving her alone....she was begging to have a chocolate, and had wrapped her arms and legs around her leg, refusing to let go until Ridhima gave her a chocolate.

"dekho...please, mujhe chod do...I promise I will give you a chocolate if you let me go" Ridhima said, trying to get the child to loosen her arms.

"Nahi, mujhe abhi chahiya" the child whined.

Ridhima looked around for help and saw Atul was still busy laughing with the kids.

"Atul!...help me, please!" Ridhima begged.

"h-haan...mein abhi aaya Ridz....accha I will be right back kids...and then form a line, and we will see who has been a good kid, and who hasn't!" Atul said, as he made his way towards Ridhima.

"Hey Ridz...kya hua?" Atul asked.

Ridhima pointed towards the kid stuck to her leg and said,

"she refuses to let me go unless I give her a chocolate...and well, I am not allowed to" Ridhima whispered to Atul.

Atul chuckled, and kneeled down next to the girl.

"Sonia...what are you doing" Atul asked.

"didi mujhe chocolate nahin de rahi...toh mein unki leg pe chipak gayi" Sonia giggled.

Atul smiled, and said,

"oh really?...par didi aapko chocolate kaise dengi, agar aap unki leg par ho?" Atul asked, raising his eyebrows.

Sonia looked at her arms wrapped around Ridhima's legs, then at Atul, then at Ridhima, and finally let her arms and legs loosen.

Atul smiled, and pulled Sonia towards him, making her sit on his knee, he tickled her stomach and said,

"par doctor ne toh kaha tha ki aapko chocolate mana hai" Atul said

Sonia made a face and said,

"doctor logon ko kuch nahin pata hota"

Atul stiffled a laugh and said,

"Sonia...aapka stomach mein ek monster hain...aur usko khatam karne ke liye aapko yeh diwaai khaani parti hai" Atul said, as he indicated to the medicines lying beside Sonia's bed.

"par woh kadwi hai" Sonia pouted.

"par jaise hi aapka stomach better hoyega...I promise mein aapko ek chocolate khud laake doonga!" Atul said.

"Promise?" Sonia asked.

"pakka promise" He said, pinching his neck.

Sonia giggled and hopped off his knee and made her way to the line that had formed.

Ridhima was staring at him with her mouth open.

"how do you do that?" Ridhima asked, as she watched in amazement at how well the kids were behaving whenever Atul was around.

Atul shrugged his shoulders and said, "you just have to understand them, I guess...I don't know, but I love kids, and they seem to like me as well" He said as they walked towards the kids.

Giving them their injections, they put the kids back into bed and gave a sigh of relief.

"finally that is over...now we have our cases to go to" Ridhima said.

"Yeah...chal I'll see you later....bye Ridz!" Atul said, as he walked in the opposite direction.

Ridhima walked towards Rajeev's room, and looked inside through the door to see if Armaan was there or not...sadly he wasn't.
Sighing Rajeev looked around.

There wasn't anything to do, and he was getting frustrated....his boss had said that he could take as long as he wanted to get well.

In other words it meant, be back soon, or you will be on a holiday forever.

Sighing his thoughts drifted to Ridhima...or Doctor Ridhima as she liked to be called.

Smirking he thought about how uncomfortable and annoyed she had been when she had said that.

Looking at the clock he saw it was time for one of the doctors to come and check him.

He wished it would be Ridhima...it had been a while since he had seen her...saw her looking at the report with a slight frown of concentration on her face....the pen leaning against her cheek......her biting her lip as she read the reports.

Groaning he rolled over in his bed and stared out the window...he was going off plan.

He had to stick to the plan...it had been a miracle that he had landed in this hospital...it had been quicker than he had planned...but all he had to do now was make Ridhima believe he was a good man...

Sighing Ridhima walked into the room, and looked at Rajeev, he was sitting on the bed facing the door and his face lit up into the smile the moment she walked in.

"Hey doctor Ridhima it has been a while since I have seen you...heard you were unwell...how are you now?" Rajeev asked, sounding as though he was sincerely concerned.

Taken aback for a second because he had actually referred to her as Doctor Ridhima instead ofdoc...she quickly looked at him and gave him a confused look.

Slightly frowning, she said, "better now, thanks"

Turning around, she quickly took out Rajeev's reports and looked at them.

Checking the reports, she made sure she didn't make any eye contact with him.

"um...I think that the sooner we get your operation done...the better." Ridhima muttered.

She didn't hear anything...so she continued studying the reports.

"The reports aren't looking that good...I will have to discuss with my senior doctor about this" Ridhima said, her eyes still fixed on the report.

She frowned when she didn't hear a response...still.

Sighing, she turned around to face him and saw him staring at her, with a smirk on his face.

Uncomfortable under his gaze, she put the reports back, and decided to walk out of the room, before he said or did anything to make her uncomfortable.

She had started to walk out, when she felt a hand grab her wrist.

Part 15

ArmaanRidhimaRajeev

Ridhima gasped as she felt his hand enclose on her wrist. Her heart rate started increasing, and she tried taking in a few silent deep breaths to keep it in control.

Her stomach was twisting in fear and anger when she turned around to face him.

Glaring at him, she twisted her wrist in his hand and said, in a low quiet voice,

"yeh kya battameezi hai? leave me hand"

"look…I just want to talk to you" Rajeev said, still not letting go of her hand.

Ridhima frowned, and tried twisting her hand out of his grip, getting her other hand, she tried prying his fingers off her.

"well…I don't want to talk to you…so let go of my wrist…this instant!" Ridhima said, through clenched teeth not letting her fear show through, but she could feel her stomach twisting and churning and could feel her knees feeling weak and shaking.

Rajeev, sighed and tutted.

"Dr. Ridhima…I…please…look..we got off on the wrong foot…and I really am sorry…truly" Rajeev said, regret evident in his tone.

Ridhima frowned, and her struggle slowly ceased.

"Dr. Malhotra…if you are apologizing…then it's ok…I accept your apology, now can you please let go off my hand?" Ridhima said, a hint of desperation in her voice as she went back to trying to pry his fingers off her wrist.

Rajeev sighed, and let go of her wrist.

Ridhima immediately pulled her hand back to herself, and held it protectively while rubbing her wrist to get rid of the ache.

"I am sorry" Rajeev said, regret evident in his eyes.

Ridhima scowled, gathered her files and rushed out of the room.

She had just turned the corner, lost in her thoughts when she bumped into someone, almost falling over, she tried grabbing hold onto something, and her hands found their way on someone's shoulders while their arms went around her waist to stop her from falling.

Gasping, she got her balance, and looked up to see the person who had saved her.

*******

Sighing Armaan rubbed the back of his neck, to make the soreness go away.

Looking around, most of the patients in the general ward seemed to be asleep, or reading a book or doing something silently.

Smiling, he gave himself a pat on the back and looked at the time.

3:45 pm

He had spent a little more than 2 hours in the general ward and he still had to go to Rajeev's room to check on how he was going.

Groaning, he walked to the reception to get the file for Rajeev Malhotra.

"Sister, Rajeev Malhotra ki file dena" Armaan asked looking around trying to find someone he knew.

Giving his dimpled smile to one of the female interns in another batch, he turned back to the nurse.

"Ji Dr. Armaan…woh Dr. Ridhima leke chali gayi thi file, ji" Sister Lovely said.

Armaan frowned and muttered a thanks to Sister Lovely.

He started walking towards Rajeev's room, an uneasy feeling in his stomach.

There was something about Rajeev that Armaan disliked, he didn't really know what, but something about him unsettled him.

Sighing, he started walking a bit faster, not wanting to leave Ridhima with Rajeev alone for too long.

He had just turned a corner, when something soft bumped into him, making the former lose their balance.

His hands immediately shot out to stop them from falling, when he heard them gasp.

Looking down, he realized that Ridhima had banged into him and lost her balance.

He smiled, and helped her up.

"Kya Basket, tum kab aankhein khol kar chalogi?" Armaan asked trying to get a rile out of her again.

However Ridhima didn't respond and continued to look down with a frown on her face.

Frowning, Armaan snapped his fingers in front of Ridhima's eyes to get her attention.

Ridhima's head snapped up, and she looked lost for a few moments, before her eyes landed on Armaan.

"h-huh?...did you say something?" Ridhima asked.

"kya yaar basket, mere hote hue, you are thinking of someone else…ouch, that really hurts" Armaan said, faking a hurt expressiong, while holding his heart.

Ridhima cracked a small smile and rolled her eyes.

"Well, Dr. Armaan I guess that just tells you how entertaining you really are" Ridhima said, raising her eyebrows, challenging him to come back with a better come-back.

Armaan just smirked, and said, "touch…..anyway…have you checked on Rajeev?"

Ridhima's smile vanished, and suddenly she seemed a bit fidgety.

"woh…um not really….there is still a bit left…do you think you will be able to finish it off for me?" Ridhima asked, looking at him with pleading eyes.

Armaan frowned once again, but nodded, not probing the subject any further.
Ridhima gave him a relieved smiled, and walked away.

Armaan walked into the room and saw Rajeev sitting on the bed, looking out of the window in deep thought.

Clearing his throat, he saw Rajeev snap out of his thoughts, and look towards him…..was it just him, or was there some disappointment in his eyes when he saw Armaan.

Shrugging, Armaan went towards the bed, and picked up the file, which had been thrown carelessly on the table, looking through it….Ridhima had made some notes, but had left it halfway.

Frowning once again, he looked at Rajeev with deep suspicion.

"Did Dr. Ridhima come in here to check on you?" Armaan asked, even though he knew the correct answer.

"She might've…I don't know…I was sleeping" Rajeev said, carelessly, looking out of the window.

Swearing silently, he looked back into the file, Rajeev hadn't given him a single hint of any misbehaving that might have happened on his part….if there was any…he didn't know….....and if he knew Ridhima, she won't tell him either.

Finishing off the un-finished notes, Armaan made a mental note to keep an eye on Rajeev.

RidhimaArmaanRajeev

Sipping her coffee, Ridhima contemplated going to Dr. Keerti to discuss her problem with Rajeev.

"Hey" Someone said breathlessly as they slipped into the seat opposite Ridhima's.

Ridhima snapped out of her train of thoughts and looked up to see Armaan sitting opposite her.

Giving him a small smile, she said, "hey"

"so..what's been happening…apart from being harassed by patients?" Armaan said, as his eyes bore into hers.

Ridhima quickly looked back into his eyes, as her heart started beating faster.

For some unknown reason she wanted Armaan to know what Rajeev had done, but she was afraid of what Armaan might do.

"Hey Atul!" Ridhima suddenly said and silently thanked god for sending Atul.

"Hey Ridz!...Hey Armaan!" Atul said, as he slipped into the seat next to Armaan.

Armaan nodded at him and said, "Hey champ, kaisa hai tu?"

"arey yaar, pooch mat, meri who patient hain na…Mrs. Khanna?...she is literally killing me man, she hates hospitals, and everything about them…pata nahin kya kya karan padta hai in patients ke liya" Atul said, as he shook his head, and slumped further into the chair.

"Atul, tum Dr. keerti se kyun nahin baat karte?" Ridhima suggested.

"iss baat ke liye?...mujhe ulta latka degi woh Hitler!" Atul said, Armaan just laughed and patted sympathetically on his back.

"accha, meri chodo, tum log kya kar rahe ho New Years ke liye?" Atul asked, peking up and sitting straight, looking at them with excitement in his eyes.

"umm..not sure, Sanjeevani mein ek party hain na?" Ridhima said

"that's what I was talking about, but I was thinking that lets make it a masquerade party!"

"Masquerade party?!" both Armaan and Ridhima exclaimed.

"what party?" Anjali asked, as she slipped into the chair next to Ridhima.

"Masquerade party!" Atul said.

"for what?" Anjali asked, confused.

"arey yaar, for New Years!" Atul said, and explained the idea to Anjali.

"not bad Atul, it sound pretty good, hain na guys?" Anjali said, as she looked at Ridhima and Armaan.

"what sounds good?" Both Rahul and Muskaan asked as they sat in the remaining chairs. Atul groaned and explained them the idea again.

"arey wah yaar!...Atul tune to kamala kar diya!..I love this idea!" Muskaan said as she hi-fived Atul.

"theek idea hain, itna excited hone ki kya zaroorat hai?" Rahul said, as he looked at Muskaan and Atul hi-fiving each other from the corner of his eye.

"abbey to chup ho jaa" Muskaan said, as she turned to face him.

"mein kyun chup hoon?...tu itna excited kyun ho rahi thi?" Rahul said in a defensive tone.

"mein excited hoon ya naa hoon, tujhe kya?" Muskaan shouted, as she got up to shout at him.

"Mujhe kya farak padega agar tu kuch kare ya na kare…I don't care" Rahul shouted back at her, as he got up as well.

"I don't care either!" Muskaan shouted, giving him a small shove on his shoulder.

"Yeah, so do I look like I care?" Rahul retorted as he shoved her a bit as well.

"do I?" Muskaan shouted as she shoved him back.

"Do I?" Rahul shouted as he shoved her.

"GUYS STOP IT!" Everyone on the table shouted at them.

Muskaan glared at Rahul and sat back down, crossing her arms in front of her chest. Rahul glared at her and Atul and sat back down as well.

"anyway…like we were discussing, I have already talked to Dr. Shashank about it, and he has agreed…now all of you have to find masks and a dress..western or Indian…and turn up at the party!" Atul said with a wide grin on his face.

"Wow yaar…mera champ, mera bhai…bada ho raha hai…he is actually taking responsibility…I never thought that could happen…I think I am going to cry" Armaan said, as he put an arm across Atul's shoulder, and faked a proud parent's expression, flicking his finger under the eyes as if to wipe the imaginary tears.

Everyone laughed, and Atul elbowed Armaan in the stomach.

"Anyway guys, I have to go and talk to Dr. Keerti about something…I'll see you all later" Ridhima said as she got up.

She had made up her mind, she was going to talk to Dr. Keerti and be removed from the case and put on another one….there was no way that she was going to tolerate Rajeev for another second.

*******

Rajeev rubbed his eyes, and leaned back on the bed, his arms crossing behind his head. Sighing he went over the conversation that had just taken place with Ridhima and that Dr. Armaan.

He scowled as he remembered the name, there was something about him, that made Rajeev stand on his toes…make sure that he didn't get to know anything.

However, Rajeev had the feeling that he had been too quick and wrong in his approach. He had not taken his time in wooing Ridhima…he had to gain her trust…after that, to hell with everyone…namely Dr. Armaan Malik.

He knew that Dr. Armaan was getting suspicious, and he had to make his next move quickly, however…now he had to move very carefully, because whatever his next move would be…would have to be very subtle as anything could throw his plan and him off-balance…for life.

Ring Ring…Ring Ring.

Glancing over at the sidetable, he leaned a bit towards it to see who was calling.

"Oh god!" He groaned and picked up the phone from the sidetable.

"Haan ji, sir?" He said, answering the phone.

"Ji…haan…ji, thodi si problem hai…haan haan, woh mein sambhal loonga…nahin nahin…aap chinta mat kariye, everything is under control…I just need a bit more time…she is tougher than I originally thought…nahin, don't worry…yeah, later Bhai"

Rubbing his eyes once more, he looked out of the window as he started formulating another plan.

******

Knocking on the door, Ridhima pushed the door open when she heard a faint, 'come in'.

Seeing Dr. Keerti's head bent over the papers scattered all over her desk, scribbling away furiously, Ridhima cleared her throat slightly, and wondered if this was the right time to be asking Dr. Keerti for a favour.

Dr. Keerti's head snapped up and, her eyebrows rose questioningy as she saw Ridhima.

Ridhima gave a weak smile and took a tentative step towards her.

Dr. Keerti, bent her head down, and started working again. Ridhima looked around, unsure of what to do…Dr. Keerti wasn't even looking at her!

Clearing her throat, she tried catching Dr. Keerti's attention, however Keerti just carried on with her work.

Clearing her throat once again, Ridhima said, "Um excuse me, Ma'am"

Dr. Keerti took a deep breath, and looked up with an irritated expression.

"what is it Dr. Ridhima?...don't you have any work? You have been standing here for the past 5 minutes just clearing your throat...if you have no work, then perhaps some extra cases?" Dr. Keerti said, anger etched on her face.

Ridhima's face blanched at first and then reddened in embarrassment at having been shouted at by Dr. Keerti.

"woh…I am sorry ma'am…I-I'll come back later" Ridhima hurridly said, as she rushed out of the door.

Now what do I do?...I'd rather spend the rest of my day with Rajeev than tell Dr. Keerti my problem at the moment

Sighing, Ridhima shook her head and hid her tears as she made her way to the locker room. It seemed like she was truly stuck with Rajeev, and there was nothing she could do about it.
She banged her locker shut, leaned her head against the locker, sighing and closing her eyes.

Beep beep

Looking down, Ridhima saw a new message from Anjali.

Can't drop you home, night duty

Groaning, Ridhima leaned her head against the locker again, a bit harder, and scrunched up her face when it hurt.

"ow" She mumbled, as she rubbed the sore spot on her head.

Hearing someone chuckle, she looked up to see Armaan leaning against his locker, his hands folded across his chest, sporting a smirk on his face.

When did he come here?...oh god how long has he been here, seeing me make a fool of myself?

Ridhima reddened in embarrassment, when Armaan chuckled a bit more.

"You know basket, I knew you liked me, but to be banging your head against the locker, because of me? I am touched!" Armaan said, a mischievous smile on his face.

Ridhima rolled her eyes, and opened her locker once more to put her labcoat and stethoscope back in.

"you wish Armaan" Ridhima said, as she closed the locker, and looked sideways to see Armaan with his eyebrows raised in a challenging manner.

He slowly leaned away from the locker and stood straight. He slowly started making his way towards her, his eyes never leaving hers.

Ridhima's heart rate increased, and her breath started becoming irregular.

"A-Armaan" She said, in a quiet voice, as she took a tiny step back, but stopped when her back touched the locker.

Looking up she saw that Armaan was standing right in front of her…still coming closer till she was completely pressed against the locker, and their bodies were touching.

Ridhima looked slightly sideways to find a way to get out, but realized it was no use. Looking up again, her breath hitched, as she saw Armaan looking deeply into her eyes, his smile long gone…and a completely different emotion masked in those grey eyes.

Putting one hand on the locker beside Ridhima face, his other hand came at a rest at Ridhima's waist.

Ridhima's eyes widened, and her heart started beating so hard, that she was sure Armaan could hear it. Her eyes went from his lips, to his cheek…to finally his eyes. She stared into his eyes, taking in every detail she could…they were grey, with a bit of hazel surrounding the eye.

Armaan slowly started leaning in towards her, his eyes never leaving her eyes.
Ridhima stopped breathing when she felt Armaan's breath on her cheek, close to her lips.

Seeing him come closer and closer, she slowly closed her eyes, not being able to take it anymore.

Armaan leaned in closer, and let his lips only ghosted over Ridhima's cheek, when he felt her take in a deep breath.

Smiling slightly, he leaned in closer, and went towards her ear.

His lips brushed against her earlobe as he spoke,

"it's ringing"

Ridhima's eyes opened in confusion, as she looked a bit sideways, still slightly dazed.

"huh" She asked, getting lost in his eyes once more.

Armaan smiled slightly, and his hand slipped from her waist to where her hand was. Closing around it, he brought it up.

"it's ringing" He said once more, smirking with a smug face.

Ridhima, still dazed, looked at him in confusion, till her eyes followed his and landed on her hand, clasped in his.

That is when she came back to reality.

Her phone was ringing and she hadn't realized. Blushing a deep red, Ridhima immediately tuned around, her back facing Armaan, and answered the phone.

"hello" She said, and cleared her throat when her voice was shaky and unclear.
"Hello Ridzi?" Anjali said on the other line.

"Di?..yeah?" Ridhima said as she chanced a look at Armaan from the corner of her eye, and saw his eyes were still focused on her.

Ridhima's heart started beating faster, yet again, and her breath hitched in her throat.

Her back facing him once again, she closed her eyes, and tried calming her heart beat. At this rate, she was sure to get a heart attack soon!

"did you get my message? I was worried you wouldn't"

"yeah I got it, don't worry I will take an Auto" Ridhima said

"oh ok, see you then, I've got work to do, bye" Anjali said as she hung up the phone.

Taking in another deep breath, Ridhima clutched the phone close to her heart, hoping her heart beat would not go haywire once more if she saw Armaan again.

What is happening to me!...Stop acting like a teenager! God! I really need to get out of here!

Turning around, Ridhima plastered a smile on her face as to not show the nervousness she was feeling.

"Anjie has night duty?" Armaan asked. Ridhima just nodded as she picked up her purse.

"Great!..I'll drop you!" Armaan said, as he grabbed Ridhima's hand and dragged her out of the locker room, not allowing he to protest.

Oh great! I was supposed to get away from him, and here I am going with him, in the same car…oh god, please help me and my heart!

Ridhima silently prayed as she followed Armaan to his car.

RidhimaArmaanRajeev

"C'mon Ridhima...ghar pahoonch na hai ya nahi?" Armaan said, as he turned around and saw Ridhima walking behind him with a nervous expression on her face.

Rolling his eyes, he shook his head, as he saw Ridhima's head snap up when she heard him. Grabbing her hand, he took her to the car.

"Actually, I had to park my car outside Sanjeevani, so we might have to walk a bit...or if you want you could wait here and I can get the car here" Armaan said, as he looked at her.

Ridhima looked up and smiled, "no, it's ok, I'll come with you"

Armaan grinned, and walked outside Sanjeevani, his hand still holding onto hers.

"So Basket...who is it?" Armaan said, a cheeky grin coming on his face as he looked at Ridhiima sideways.

His grin widened when he saw Ridhma look up in confusion, trying to understand what he was saying.

"sorry?" Ridhima said, unsure if she had heard right.

Looking straight ahead, he bit his lip to stop the grin from re-appearing.

"I said, who is it?" Armaan said, enjoying watching the display of emotions across Ridhima's face.

"who are you talking about?" Ridhima finally asked, giving up trying to analyse the hidden meaning behind Armaan's words.

"that's what I am asking you....that person definitely has to be extremely lucky, considering that you have been thinking only about him since we have started from the locker room...and that too in my presence!..gosh that hurts basket" Armaan said, and laughed out loud, when Ridhima slapped his arm.

"Shut up Armaan! just because I am not talking to you doesn't mean I am thinking about someone else" Ridhima said, rolling her eyes.

"oh really?...so does that mean, that you were thinking about me?" Armaan asked, suddenly stopping and turning around to face her, his face completely serious, looking at her intently.

His eyes twinkled when he saw Ridhima blush and look down, trying to hide the blush that was appearing on her cheeks.

Looking up, she just shook her head at him and at his jokes, and started walking ahead, not answering the question.

Armaan grinned, and caught up with her.

"oh look there is the car" Armaan said, as he pointed towards it. However his smile slowly faded as he saw that there were some suspicious looking guys standing close to the car, staring at the couple approaching.

Frowning, he looked sideways and found Ridhima looking around, adjusting her dupatta, conscious of the men standing there.

Silently he reached out, and interwined his fingers with Ridhima's and pulled her closer, till she was completely pressed against him sideways.

Giving the men a brief glance to make sure they posed no threat, he walked to the passenger door, and opened it for Ridhima, blocking her from the men's view.

Closing it, his lips formed in a thin line as he walked to the driver's seat, and sat down, closing the door.

********

"oh look, there's the car!" Armaan said, and Ridhima automatically looked up, a smile still resting on her lips from the joke they had just shared.

Smiling, she almost breathed a sigh of relief at having seen the car finally.

Finally she could sit down, and go home...probably have a nice long warm bath, and just relax.

However Ridhima's smile faltered as her eyes finally fell on the men standing near the car. They were all staring at Armaan and Ridhima, as they came closer to the car.

Frowning slightly, Ridhima immediately broke eye contact, and her hand went up to adjust her dupatta slightly.

Her head snapped up, and looked at Armaan, as she felt his hand slightly brush against hers, and then intertwine both their hands together.

She gasped slightly, as he pulled her towards him, till she was completely pressed up against him, and her heart started thudding again.

Feeling a blush creep up, she tried putting a tiny bit of distance, but Armaan wouldn't let her move away. Holding on tightly onto her hand, he provided her with an immediate sense of comfort and safety.

Finding herself leaning in towards him slowly, Ridhima couldn't help but glance up at his face.

Her heart skipped another beat as she saw the grim look on his face.

It's because he is protecting you

Ridhima thought, however she mentally scolded herself just as the thought came into her head.

He would do this with anyone...you are no one special Ridhima...stop thinking like that.

But when Ridhima glanced up again, and saw Armaan casting the men a look, almost daring them to make a move, Ridhima's heart almost burst with happiness, and it was all she could do to stop the happiness from showing on her face.

********

Stopping the car in front of Ridhima's home, Armaan looked sideways and saw Ridhima undoing her seatbelt.

"thanks" Ridhima said softly, as she finally undid her seatbelt, and looked up.

Armaan grinned at her, and said, "no problem"

Ridhima gave a last smile, before she opened the door, got out and closed it behind her.

Turning around, she gave a small wave, and said, "bye Armaan, see you tomorrow"

"will do" Armaan said as he gave her a small wink.

Seeing Ridhima walk into her house, Armaan sighed as he put his car in gear and drove back to his house.

********

Opening the door, Armaan opened the light and threw the keys on the table next to the door, rubbing his eyes, he stifled a yawn as he made his way towards his room.

Giving a groan, he fell on his bed, hugged his pillow and closed his eyes with a small smile on his face.

Feeling a soft body lying next to him, his hand quickly shot out and grabbed it, bringing it closer to him.

Sighing pleasantly, he tightened his grip when it tried to move away.

"Armaan" the person said.

"Ridhima" He said sleepily, as he smiled a bit more, and snuggled in closer.

"ew Armaan wake up! you are dreaming" the person said.

"sone do na, basket" He muttered, as he pouted a bit.

"Armaan Balwinder Malik, if you do not get up this instant, I won't be held responsible to whatever happens to you" The person said, as they tried to wriggle their way out.

"hmm..." Armaan groaned, and frowned when he felt the person struggling a bit more.

Since when did basket know my full name?...nobody knows that...except..

His eyes shot open as he found himself looking at a very, very angry pair of brown eyes.

"AHHHH!"' Armaan screamed, as he quickly moved away from her, and ended up falling off the bed in the process.

"oww" Armaan groaned, as he tried massaging his sore back.

"serves you right, Mr. Mallik!"
Armaan looked up, and saw his childhood friend looking at him from the bed, with a smirk on her face.

"Nikki..kya yaar...aise kissi ko uthate hain kya, and when did you come" Armaan asked, as he slowly got up and sat on the bed next to Nikki.

"I came just then....you should learn to lock your front door by the way" Nikki said, giving him a hug.

"hmm...I know" Armaan said, hugging her back, and closing his eyes again, trying to go back to sleep, his head resting on her shoulder

"Armaan get up, you idiot...I really do not fancy getting strangled by you again!" Nikita said, as she punched him on the shoulder.

Armaan groaned, and fell sideways on the bed, hugging the pillow once more, and trying to go back to sleep.

Feeling someone's hair on his cheek, he made a face as it tickled him.

"Nikki, sone do" Armaan said, as he swatted the hair away.

"How rude Armaan!...your friend has come all the way from Delhi, and you don't even have the decency to talk to her...fine then!..I am going!" Nikki said, as she huffed and started to get off the bed.

She gave a squeek, as she felt Armaan grab onto her arm and haul her backwards making her fall next to him on the bed.

"hmm...tell me....what's up" Armaan said, sleepily.

"well...first you tell me, who is Ridhima?" Nikki said, as a mischievous smile came on her face.

"woh..basket hain...a friend of mine" Armaan said, his eyes still closed.

"just a friend?" Nikki asked, raising an eyebrow.

"of course!...me and basket?..please!" Armaan said, his eyes finally open and looking at her in disbelief.

Nikki opened her mouth to ask another question when her phone rang.

Armaan quickly took it off her, and pressed the answer button, and held it to his ear.

Turning around, so his back was facing Nikki, he held up one of his hands to stop Nikki from fully attacking him. He could hear Nikki's protests and gaalis as he said,

"hello?"

"hello?...who's this?" a guy said on the other end.

"who's this?" Armaan asked, not answering the question, as he raised an eyebrow at Nikki, as he realized what time this person was calling her.

"I asked you first dude, who's this?...can you give the phone to Nikki?" The guy asked in an agitated tone.

Nikki finally managed to twist Armaan's arm, and grabbed the phone off him.

"hello Abhi?" Nikki said breathlessly, as she glared at Armaan, and made her way outside the room.

Armaan grinned, and closed his eyes once more, to get whatever sleep he could....in the next 3 hours....he had to be at Sanjeevani at precisely 7:00 am.

Sighing, he decided that tomorrow he would be continuing the question game with Nikki...however it will be him who would be asking the questions this time...about some Abhi to be precise.
