Maan slowly recovered from his shock. His laser sharp brain calculating all the scenarios which could have lead his Geet into this state. He clenched his jaw again looking at her maang. He controlled his roiling emotions and took her in his arms. He glared at his curious employees, making them scatter like rabbits back to their places. "Pinky come with me," He rushed past astonished Sasha and Tasha with Geet in his arms and Pinky trailing him hurriedly. He went to the top floor of his office where he kept a penthouse suite to sleep in after late nights of work. He took Geet into the bedroom and gently placed her on his bed. He sat beside her and ordered Pinky to wash her face and comb her hair. Pinky did as ordered while Maan started walking impatiently. "Sir,"Pinky interrupted hesitantly, "It might be better if you called a lady doctor instead of the office doctor." "Why?" demanded Maan. "Sir her body has lots of bruises as if a man…" Pinky stopped and turned her gaze away unable to look at Maan's anguish as he comprehended her meaning. He went towards Geet and looked at her state. He hit his fist on the wall in agony and took out his cell. "Adi, ask our doctor who is the best lady doctor in Delhi and bring her here pronto. Dr. Mehra need not come here." he barked into the phone. He went back to the bed and tenderly kept on trying to wake Geet.

Adi arrived with Dr.Nayar. Maan greeted her and took her to Geet. She took one look at Geet and requested Maan, Adi and Pinky to wait outside while she examined and treated Geet. After what seemed like eons, Dr.Nayar came out gravely. She looked at the three "Of the three of you who is related to her." "She is my best friend doctor, " Maan replied. "You wait here Mr.Khurana and the rest please leave. I need to speak to Mr.Khurana privately." "What happened to Geet doctor?"Maan asked anxiously. "She has been brutally raped, Mr.Khurana."she said grimly. Maan paled unable to accept that his Geet was brutalized. "She is in wedding clothes, maybe wedding night," Maan said hopefully wanting to believe anything but that. "No Mr.Khurana, this was no wedding night. Her body is so brutalized that it will take weeks to heal. Mentally I don't know how long it will take. I don't know what happened, but what was done was against her wishes." Maan closed his eyes tightly unable to bare what was done to Geet. 'Doctor" He asked huskily, "Did she tell you what happened?" "No, Mr.Khurana she is in shock still. She is not speaking and I gave her a sedative to sleep. You say you are her best friend, then why were you not at her wedding?" asked Dr.Nayar in surprise. Maan went to Geet's bedside collecting his thoughts and sat beside her sleeping form. He settled a blanket on her lovingly," Since childhood I used to go to my Nani's house in ambala during every vacation with my mother. Geet's family and Nani were neighbours. Her family is very conservative, they did not allow the women in the family to go out without their men folk. Geet was home schooled as her grandfather believed that a girl would become disobedient if she went out into the world. Since her dadaji respected Nani very much, he allowed Geet and her sister Rajji to come to Nani's place to play and learn music. In every vacation we used to play together and keep in contact rest of the time on phone. Geet used to call me everyday on nani's phone." Maan smiled recollecting those happy days.

"After my mom died doctor, it was Geet who gave me the strength to go on, to succeed and not become a drug addict, believe me when I say my bitterness would have lead me there. I left for college but still frequented nani's house, as those that I love the most in this world, Geet and Nani were there. Geet's grandpa did not allow Geet to come to Nani's house when I was there, as we grew older, but we used to meet secretly. Geet used to slip into Nani's house when her grandpa was not at home. We talked daily and this kept me from being totally jaded about this world. After I started my business, nani passed away and we had no way of contact left. Geet called me very rarely, when she could slip away unnoticed from home for a few minutes. I wanted to ask her grandpa for her hand, but Geet wanted me to reach the pinnacle of success. She wanted me to fulfill my ambition of becoming more successful than my father. In our last conversation, six months ago, she said she would contact me if her elders started looking at matches, so that I could ask them. I was waiting for her call." He said in bewilderment, " I don't understand what happened. Why my Geet is in this state?" he shook his head in disbelief and tears streamed down his cheeks. "Be strong Mr.Khurana, obviously she trusts you more than her own family if she came from Ambala to Delhi in this state. She will need you to be her support to get through this storm." Maan shook in rage,"I want to know who did this doctor, I will not leave him, I will kill that animal." "Mr.Khurana, this is not the time for such thoughts, there are a lot more important things. I have taken some samples and you should inform the police, so that they can send them to their lab and put up a case." Maan called his classmate Yash Mathur who was an ACP in Delhi and made arrangement to deliver the samples. He told Maan to bring Geet to file an FIR once she is capable of doing that. Adi brought in a list of high dose contraceptives Dr.Nayar prescribed, gave them and left. Dr.Nayar looked at Maan staring at those pills, "There is a chance she might conceive, she needs to take these as soon as she wakes to prevent conception." Maan walking impatiently in the room turned and stared at the doctor, always mindfull of Geet's wishes, he said, "Geet might not want that." "NO" They heard a weak voice from the bed. Geet rushed Maan to Geet's side. Geet looked at Maan and turned her face away in shame. "No Geet, don't do that, I can't bear to see you in this state," He said in tears. Geet knew she would have to be strong or Maan will breakdown. She lifted her face and tightened her trembling lips. "I don't want to conceive that animal's baby doctor, give me those pills." The doctor looked at Geet's efforts to make a decision after all the hurt and humiliation to both her heart and body, in admiration. She gave the medicine cocktail along with medicines to prevent any transmissible diseases to Geet. Geet took them and swallowed . She tried to smile bravely at an anxious Maan.

She leaned back into the bed too tired and hurting to sit anymore and started shivering. Maan sat next to her and gently wrapped her up in the blenket. Geet , unable to look into Maan's eyes that were filled with worry, grief and helpless rage, kept her face on Maan's lap and started crying bitterly. Maan cocooned her in his arms trying to absorb her hurt and grief. The doctor left the room to wait outside giving the couple wrapped up in their grief some privacy. She found Adi standing faithfully outside guarding the door. "Would you like to leave maam. Should I drop you." "No Mr. Iyer, I will wait here for some time to give them privacy. Then I need to convince her to get admitted in the hospital." Aditya, who had a fair idea what was wrong with Geet by the medicines he brought nodded grimly, his heart going out for the couple inside.

Inside the bedroom, Maan who couldn't see his Geet in this condition, kept comforting her. The overwhelming rage inside him wanted to demand the animal's name from Geet so that he could send that inhuman monster to hell but his love for her only wanted to cuddle and comfort her. He bit his lips to prevent from asking her any questions and kept on caressing her hair. Between hiccups Geet said "Grandpa forced me to marry Maan." A heavy stone fell in Maan's heart and he tightened his fists, he couldn't make himself say the word husband, "Did that guy you married do this Geet." Geet laughed sadly. "Marriage, what marriage, it was all fake. That animal was a married man."
