PART 15

Recap : Siddhant and Riddhima finally clear the misunderstandings between them and have their big night.. The next morning, Sid tells Riddhima he has more important work to do than go to the hospital and proceeds to show her exactly what the more important "work" he had in mind was.

Long hours later, Riddhima was rushing into Sanjeevani and Sid was right behind her.

Sid (with a frown pasted on his face) : Lekin Riddhima, aisa bhi kaun sa patient hai jiska appointment tum reschedule nahi kar sakthi..

He asked her as he followed her into the locker room.

Riddhima was grabbing her stuff from her locker. She stopped and turned to Sid and smiled. God, Sid thought to himself, if she smiled at him like that, he'd agree to anything.

Riddhima : Agar yeh patient nahi hotha tho aaj main aur tum.. I mean.. We wouldn't have been together..

Sid looked at her puzzled. She told him how Dr. Kirti had handed over this patient to her as a relapsed case of hernia and its while going through his file that she'd seen Armaan's and Sid's handwriting side by side and realized the truth.

Sid : Thab tho yeh patient bahut hi special hai.. Chalo main bhi tumhare saath chaltha hoon..

Both of them made their way to Riddhima's cabin. The patient was waiting outside for Riddhima. When he saw them approaching, he stood up.

Riddhima : Mr. Ashish Kapur?

Patient : Ji.. Kya aap Dr. Riddhima Gupta hain?

Riddhima : Modi.. Dr. Riddhima Modi..

Siddhant felt his heart skip a beat the way Riddhima corrected the guy that her name was Riddhima Modi and not Gupta.. He smiled a happy smile. There was nothing more that he could have wished for from life.. Well, there was.. In fact, now, there was a lot lot more that he wished and wanted from life.. He suppressed his mischievious smile.. But still, right now, this was a moment of inexplicable joy..

Patient : Oh I am so sorry wo aapke name board pe Gupta likha tha..

Riddhima : Nahi.. Its ok.. Yeh Dr. Siddhant Modi hain..

Patient : Ji inhe tho main jaantha hoon.. Main pehle inhi ke saath follow up kar raha tha.. Hello Dr. Siddhant.. Kaise hain aap?

Much to the bewilderment of Mr. Ashish Kapur, Sid does not take his extended hand and shake it.. Instead,, He hugs him!!

Sid : Thank you so much Mr. Kapur.. Aap nahi jaanthe aapne hamare liye kya kiya hai..

Mr. Kapur looks from Riddhima to Sid and back totally confused. Suddenly, he started to doubt his decision about coming to Sanjeevani.. If the doctors here were this weird, he wondered how he'd ever recover..

Sid : Meri tho samajh mein hi nahi aa raha ki aapka shukriya ada kasie karoon..

Mr. Kapur was now definitely convinced that either Dr. Modi was mad or he'd mistaken him for someone else..

Mr. Kapur : Dekhiye Dr. Siddhant.. Main aapka patient hoon.. Ashish Kapur.. Meri yahan 3 mahine pehle surgery hui thi hernia ki.. Main aapke saath follow up kar raha tha.. Do hafthe pehle aapne kaha tha ki aapko shaq hai ki mujhe relapse hua hai.. Phir mujhe bathaya gaya ki ab se Dr. Riddhima mera case handle karengi..

Mr. Kapur tried to impress his identity upon Sid in case he was thinking him to be someone else.

Sid : Mujhe sab patha hai lekin phir bhi aap nahi jaanthe aapne hum par kithna bada favour kiya hai.. And just to let you know how much we appreciate it, aapki jo dobara surgery hogi, uska poora kharcha main utaoonga..

Both Riddhima and Mr. Kapur looked at Sid as if he'd lost his mind. Mr. Kapur decided that since Dr. Siddhant was no longer his doctor, he was safe enough and plus, if he was getting his surgery done free then why should he bother about anything else..

Mr. Kapur : Oh.. Thank you so much..

Riddhima : Dr. Siddhant, ab aap jayiye.. Main aapse baad mein milthi hoon..

Sid : OK..

He smiled a bright smile at Riddhima, hugged Mr. Kapur again and walked away, humming to himself. Riddhima and Mr. Kapur stand there watching Sid till he was gone. Riddhima smiled thinking that she loved him so much while Mr. Kapur stood there wondering what in the world was wrong with Dr. Siddhant? He hadn't been like this when he'd met him for his last appointment.

Mr. Kapur : Dr. Riddhima..

Riddhima : Ji..

Mr. Kapur : Kya Dr. Siddhant aapke.. I mean.. Is Dr. Siddhant your husband?

Riddhima smiled : Ji haan..

Mr. Kapur gave her an uneasy, sympathetic smile in response.

Further down the corridor, an authoritative voice had Sid stopping in his tracks.

Voice : Dr. Siddhant Modi..

Sid turned and almost bumped into Dr. Kirti.

Dr. Kirti : Dr. Siddhant Modi. Main aapko aur Dr. Riddhima ko yaad dila doon ki yeh ek hospital hai, koi theater ya restaurant nahi ki aapka jab mann kiya aap chale aaye aur jab mann kiya nahi.. Agar aap aise end moment pe call karke apni chhutti ke baare mein inform karenge, tho main aapki duties kise assign karoongi? Aapke patients ka kya hoga? Aapke personal problems chahe jo bhi hon, Sanjeevani mein hamesha patients sabse pehle aathe hain.. aur mujhe sirf aur sirf Sanjeevani ki parvah hai..

As Dr. Kirti continued her monologue on responsibility and dedication, Sid was smiling at her.

Dr. Kirti : Aap muskura rahe hain?

To the extreme shock of Dr. Kirti and the onlooking staff, Dr. Siddhant hugged Dr. Kirti.. DR. SIDDHANT HUGGED DR. KIRTI!!!

Dr. Kirti (trying to free herself from Sid's bear hug) : Dr. Siddhant yeh aap kya kar rahe hain?.. Chhodiye mujhe..

Sid finally let go of Dr. Kirti and smiled at her a brilliant smile.

Sid : Dr. Kirti.. Main aapko batha nahi saktha ki aap kithni achchi hain.. You are just the best.. Agar aaj aap nahi hothi tho.. I don't even want to think about it.. You are just the best Dr. Kirti and thank you so much..

Dr. Kirti looks on bewildered as Sid walks away smiling and humming to himself while Dr. Siddhant hugging Dr. Kirti became the talk of Sanjeevani.

A little while later, Sid was sitting in the locker room, lost in recollections of the day before and smiling when Shilpa walked in.

Shilpa : Hi Jeejs!!

Sid : Shilpa!!!

He goes up to hug her and Shilpa backs away.

Shilpa : Ek minute, ek minute, yeh aaj aapko ho kya gaya hai? Maine suna ki aapne Dr. Kirti ko gale lagaya?

Sid : Aur nahi tho kya, agar wo Mr. Kapur ka case Riddhima ko nahi saunpthi tho aaj bhi main angry young man shaklein banakar ghoom raha hotha. Main tho sirf unhe thanks kar raha tha.

Shilpa (bursts out laughing) : Aapka thanks bolne ka thareeka talk of Sanjeevani bann chukka hai..

Sid : Whatever.. Aaj bass main bahut khush hoon.. Meri Riddhima mujhe mil gayi..

Shilpa : I am so happy for both of you..

Sid : I know.. Tumne bahut koshish ki na humme saath mein lane ki? Riddhima ne mujhe tumhara famous dialogue bhi sunaya..

Shilpa : Dialogue? Kaun sa dialogue?

Sid : Wahi abt thinking we knew what we want in life and whats right but life having other plans for us..

Shilpa smiled but Sid senses a touch of sorrow in her smile.

Sid : Baath kya hai Shilpa? Tum ithni philosophical kabse bann gayi?

Shilpa : Nahi aisi koi baath nahi..

Sid : Kuch tho baath hai.. Meri pyaar si sister in law ki smile 1000 watts ki nahi.. 900 watts ki ho gayi hai.. Bathao na..

Shilpa : Wo iss liye kyun ki aapki smile 1000 watts se 1100 watts ki ho gayi hai na.. Tho iske saamne aapko hum sabki smile kam wattage ki hi lagegi na?

Just then Riddhima walks into the locker room. Sid's face lights up even brighter seeing her.

Riddhima : Shilpa.. Kaisi ho?

Riddhima and Shilpa hug.

Shilpa : Main tho theek hoon di.. Lekin aap theek nahi lag rahin..

Riddhima : Kyun? Kya hua?

Shilpa : Aapko nahi lagtha aaj aap kuch zyada hi muskura rahi hain? Aur aapka chehra kuch zyada hi khila hai?

Riddhima playful smacks Shilpa.

Shilpa : Kya di.. Aapko kya lagtha hai ki mujhe kuch samajh nahi aatha?

Riddhima (blushing) : Shilpa tu bhi na..

Riddhima looks at Sid and they have an eyelock while Shilpa looks on wistfully.

Shilpa : Mujhe lagtha hai ki mujhe chalna chahiye.. Aur waise bhi ab aap dono ko mujhse baath karne mein interest tho hoga nahi..

Sid : Arey nahi Shilpa.. Actually main Riddhiima ko dinner pe leke jaanewaala tha.. Tum bhi chalo na hamare saath..

Riddhima : Haan Shilpa.. Tum bhi chalo na?

Shilpa : Kebab mein haddi banne ke liye?

Sid : Arey nahi.. Aisa kuch nahi..

Shilpa : Jeejs.. This is your time.. Go enjoy yourselves.. Aur waise main tho hamesha yahin hoon na.. Baad mein.. Jab aap boring old couple bann jaoge, thab chaloongi aapke saath ok?

Sid and Riddhima smile at her as she walks away. Sid extends his hand towards Riddhima.

Sid : Chalein?

Riddhima places her hand in his without hesitation and nods. Sid covers her hand with his other hand and they look at each other lovingly.
