Dream Wedding - Part 2

Armaan was looking everywhere for her when he noticed a girl who looked a lot like her coming down the grand staircase with her sisters and a few other girls. She was walking down nervously as if it was her own wedding. In real, she was actually trying to hide herself from Armaan.

Anjali and Muskaan sat down at the mandap beside their grooms and the pandit started chanting the mantras.

Armaan excused himself for a moment to go upstairs to check if Riddhima was there. He walked up and saw a bit of Riddhima's bedroom's door open. Wondering whether Riddhima was there, he entered the room and stood staring at the most beautiful sight in front of him.

Riddhima was trying to tie her choli from the back but was failing to do so. Her dupatta was on her bed. It looked strangely familiar to Armaan. "Where have I seen this choli before?"

"Stupid thing! Do you honestly hate me so much?!" Riddhima said out loud bringing Armaan out of his thoughts. Silently, he walked up behind her and took the strings in his fingers.

Riddhima held her breath and closed her eyes as she felt Armaan's presence. To make sure it was Armaan, she looked up into the mirror. Her heart raced at the sight of him looking so handsome in a white kurta.

Unable to stop himself, he bent lower and planted a tiny but irresistible kiss on her shoulder. She gasped at his move and turned around to face him. Before she could say anything, he put a finger to her lips and knelt down on one knee and held a hand out to her.

"Riddhima 'Basket' Gupta," He said. "I love you. I have loved you from the moment I saw you at Sanjeevani. I can never forget the sight of you in that beautiful red halter top with the dark blue jeans on our first day looking for Dr. Keerti and surrounded by your sisters at the nurse station. Today, after three years of dreaming of you, I am asking you this: will you marry me? Will you be my wife? Will you stand with me through thick and thin? Will you change from Dr. Riddhima Gupta to my Dr. Riddhima Armaan Malik?"

Riddhima was too shocked by this. She had tears in her eyes as she stood there staring at him.

"Tell me, Basket. Will you marry me?" He said with hope and love in his eyes all dedicated for Riddhima.

Riddhima smiled tearfully and placed her hand gently in his and nodded.

"Yes," she whispered. "I will marry you. You're my one and only love, Armaan." She bent down so that she was levelled with him. "I love you!" She flung her arms around his shoulders and hugged him tightly. He hugged her back, not letting even a bit oxygen to escape through the closeness of their bodies.

Riddhima broke out of the hug. "By the way," she added as Armaan wiped her tears. "I love the choli! Not a bad choice, Dr. Armaan Malik!" She winked at him.

"Oye hoye! Basket winked at me today! Where did the sun come from today!" He teased her.

"Armaan!" She playfully hit him on his shoulder. "Now, let's go before the others get suspicious. And as you know'Di and Di will kill me if I'm not with them."

Armaan chuckled. "Let's go!" He took her hand and made her stand up. They were about to leave when Riddhima paused.

"Wait'" she said. "My dupatta!" Armaan looked at her bare neck.

"Actually, you know'" he began. "I like it better this way. You see, it makes it easier for me to kiss-" He moved in but Riddhima stopped him by placing a hand on his chest.

"Maybe next time, Doctor!" She giggled and went past him to get her dupatta. She put it on and walked hand-in-hand with Armaan downstairs. They sat behind the couples smiling and dreaming of the wedding as their own.

The pheras began and everyone stood up. They started throwing petals at the two couples but Armaan was the only one not following the ritual. Instead of the couples, he was throwing the petals at Riddhima who slightly blushed and smiled.

"You know," he whispered in her ear. "We can get married right now. The pandit is here and we have all the stuff too." He winked at her.

"Armaan!" Riddhima exclaimed. "Shut up! Someone will hear us! And, see us!" Armaan backed away from her but still stayed close to her and continued throwing petals at her. He didn't even stop when she gave him a look. When all the rituals ended, the couples were called for a photoshoot. The photographer called for the close family and friends.

"I want to take a picture of you too." The photographer said pointing at Armaan and Riddhima. "Without the couples." He added. Armaan and Riddhima awkwardly walked over. They stood side by side looking at the camera.

"Is that the best you two can do?" the photographer asked. "Why don't you come closer together and give a smile?"

Armaan and Riddhima gave weird smiles as they watched their families stare at them.

The photographer threw his hands up in the air helplessly.

"Armaan. Riddhima. Get closer." Riddhima's mother said to them. Armaan and Riddhima got closer. Armaan placed his hand on Riddima's waist and smiled looking down at her angelic beauty. Riddhima leaned in closer to him and smiled up at him.

"Much better," the photographer muttered and took the picture.

"Armaan," Riddhima said. "He took the picture. You can let go of me now."

"I don't feel like it!" Armaan said pulling Riddhima closer. Anjali walked up to them.

"Is there something we need to know, you two?" she asked raising her eyebrow at them and crossing her arms.

"Di-" Riddhima began but was interrupted by Armaan.

"We've decided to get married, Anjie. Atul. Rahul. Muskaan." Armaan said in a dignified voice. They stayed silent for a moment.

"Well," Muskaan said. "Really, Armaan. It's about TIME!"

"Anyone could see you too liked each other, you know." Rahul winked.

"So'when's the wedding?!" Atul exclaimed.

"A week from today." A voice that sounded very much like Riddhima's father's came. Everyone froze hearing his voice. Riddhima gulped and turned around.

"Papa," she started. "Are you'joking? I mean...you ACCEPT my relationship with Armaan?"

"Why not?" He said walking up to them. "Armaan's a nice guy. What's so bad about him?"

"Nothing?" Riddhima answered her father absently. Realizing what she said she said, "I mean-"

"Exactly my point." Her father said. "Padma, bring the sweets. I have good news."

Padma, Riddhima's mother, walked over. "News?" she asked.

"Yes." Her father spoke. He turned to Armaan and Riddhima who were looking down anxiously. "Armaan and Riddhima are going to get married."

Ok guys. I have decided that this OS will be six parts. I know it's going fast but it's an OS so I cant really explain much right. So, here goes...😊

The week flew by. The day after Rahul, Muskaan, Anjali, and Atul's wedding was Armaan and Riddima's engagement. Anjali and Muskaan refused to let Armaan and Riddhima meet. They stopped Riddhima from going to the hospital. Riddhima's parents disallowed Riddhima to get out of her room to meet Armaan when he came to meet the family, which was more of an excuse to see Riddhima.

Finally, on the third night, Armaan couldn't stand it anymore. He had to see his love. He couldn't live without her. He wanted her. He wanted to feel her heart thumping every time they hugged. He longed to see her cute blushes every time he said something cute to her.

Armaan went to Riddhima's house at 2 a.m. that night. He climbed up the pipe and spied at her from the window. She was sleeping so peacefully in her dark blue silk nightgown. The sight of her almost tripped Armaan and he nearly fell off the balcony. Catching his balance, he swung his feet over the balcony and sneaked quietly into the room.

He was mesmerized by her pureness. A strand of hair on her forehead disturbed his sight. He walked over to her and moved the strand away from her delicate face. He bent down and kissed her forehead.

Feeling something touch her, Riddhima opened an eyelid and almost screamed when Armaan clasped her mouth with his hand. Riddhima, noticing it was Armaan, calmed down and moved his hand.

"Are you crazy?!" she whispered, scolding him.

"For you, yeah!" he shrugged his shoulders.

"Armaan!"

"Riddhima!"

"Armaan!"

"Yes, Dr. Basket to-be Armaan Malik." He looked at her with big, innocent eyes.

"Go! If someone sees you, we're both going dead!"

"Uh-uh!" he stood up. "It's two in the night. No one's going to be awake at this time." Riddhima sighed.

"May I please sit there?" he said eyeing her and raising an eyebrow.

"You're welcome to," she replied giggling.

He sat beside her and she leaned into him.

"Four more days," she breathed.

"And then," Armaan said in a quiet murmur. "Nothing will stand between us." He kissed her forehead.

"I love you so much Armaan." She said hugging him.

"I love you too…but we need to settle some things before the marriage." He said to her.

"Like?"

"Babies!" Armaan responded.

"Armaan!" Riddhima scolded him.

"Well, Miss Basket. I'm not joking. You're going to live with me then you go by my wishes."

"Really!" she said tilting her head.

"Yes. Now, I want 4 or more children. No less. Thank you very much. I shall wait for them." He spoke quickly.

"Four or MORE! Are you crazy!"

"Well," he said. "I need to fill up the backside of the car, you know."

"Very funny!"

"Ha! I know!"

The night passed away with the two talking about their future. Their dream house, dream place, dream children. They even decided the names for the children. They were so engrossed in their talks that they didn't even notice when they fell asleep in each other's arms.
