Abhi stepped down into the kitchen after having a shower. He went near the shelf where Nikki was standing, busy looking for something in the cupboard, and hugged her from behind.
"Abhi, what are you doing, leave me," Nikki jumped in panic, almost dropping the jar she was holding.
But he snuggled more into her.
"Nope," he replied simply.
"Abhi," Nikki struggled in his embrace, trying to unbunch his hands that were holding her tight.
"Abhi, leave me na, I've work," she said.
"Ok but tell me what do we've in dinner? I'm hungry," he said into her neck.
"Whatever you say hubby, haven't prepared anything as yet," she said finally stepping out of his embrace.
Abhi moved to the corner of the kitchen and after grabbing an apple from the refrigerator replied, "Umm Manchurian rice."
Nikki rolled her eyes at his suggestion. "Chinese!!! He'll never change," she shook her head thinking. "That's what we had yesterday na," she replied after a thought.
Abhi, "Ok, then some stuffed paranthas."
Nikki, "Ah, that would be too heavy. Besides you've put on weight these days. You should avoid them to get back in shape, you know," she replied turning and pointing towards his stomach.
Abhi rolled his eyes and said, "Then, how about you prepare some omelets."
Nikki, "Today is Thursday, we can't have them."
Abhi, "Then, order something from a hotel."
Nikki, "We're going out quite often these days. It's not good for health doctor."
Abhi, "What about curry and rice?"
Nikki, "No curd hubby," she replied turning.
Abhi, "Some salad would be fine."
Nikki, "It's not food. That won't satisfy."
Abhi, "Then why don't you cook some vegetables."
Nikki, "That'll take a lot of time, besides, you're hungry."
Abhi, "Then some instant noodles, that won't take time."
Nikki, "Huh, who takes them in the dinner?"
Abhi, "What'll we have then?"
Nikki, "Abhi, I told you na, whatever you say!!" she stated flatly.
Abhi looked dumbstruck at his wife who was standing in front of him still waiting for his suggestion.
"How could he expect sense, she'll never change," he thought shaking his head and stepping out of the kitchen leaving his gaping wife behind.
