He replied to her and said, "Hamare Punjab mein to aise hi kehte hai jee. By the way myself Happy Singh." Saying this he extended his hand towards her for a handshake.

Geet shook his hand and said Hello to him. She wondered why Shona was not at the airport to pick her up and who was this guy in a turban and how did he know her name?

She tried scanning the crowd to see if Shona was around but she failed to find her in the crowd. She was feeling uneasy since she could not understand why Shona or anyone else was not at the airport to pick her up. Happy Singh sensed the agitation in her and asked her if everything was all right.

She replied back saying, "I am looking for my friend Shona, she was supposed to pick me up but I guess she sent you."

He assured her by saying, "Do not worry, she will be here soon, she has just gone to grab a bite."

Geet was still not convinced and started to walk trying the scan the crowd looking for Shona.

While Geet was looking for Shona he smiled a bit and murmured, "Shona! Wah, kya naam hai! Naam hai itna sweet, lekin zubaan hai bilkul teekhi mirchi ki tarah."

While he was lost in thoughts of Shona, Geet was getting irritated. She wanted to find the Air Canada counter as soon as possible because her luggage was nowhere to be seen on the baggage carousel. She had spoken to two of the Air Canada baggage workers and they had mentioned to her that all the bags were already out on the carousel and if her bags were not there than it meant that her luggage had not arrived at Vancouver airport.

Geet was worried because she had all her important items in the luggage. The most important was the gift for Pinky and Aditya. She had painted a portrait of them together holding hands. She had never seen Aditya in person but had seen so many of his and Pinky's pictures and as a wedding gift to both of them she had painted that portrait. All of her dresses and lenghas for the wedding were in her baggage and she did not want to lose any of her items.

While she was mulling over her thoughts she heard Shona screaming out her name, "Geet! Geet! You are here finally. Oh God I missed you so much, kitna intezaar karvaya tumne." They both hugged each other and had huge smiles on their faces. Coming out of the hug Geet's smile changed into a frown as she told Shona about her missing luggage. Shona told her not to worry and said they will get to the bottom of this right away. She dragged Geet out of the crowd in search of the Air Canada counter.

She halted for a second, turned around and said, "Driver, tum bhi chalo."

Geet looked at her surprisingly with raised eyebrows and said, "Driver! Yeh Driver hai?".

Shona replied to her saying, "Aur nahin to kya."

Geet responded while shaking her head, "Lagta to nahin hai."

YVR Airport, Vancouver, Canada

After an hour of frustrated waiting and agitated conversations with the Air Canada baggage agents, it was confirmed that Geet's luggage had not arrived in Vancouver. The airline asked her to fill out the necessary forms and had given her a claim number. They had asked her to check back in 24 hours to see if her luggage arrives the next day.

They had apologized to her for the mix up and had told her that at this time all they can do is wait for the next 24 hours. They mentioned to her that if her luggage did not arrive by the next day than they will put a trace on her luggage.

Tired and dejected both Geet and Shona walked towards the parking lot. Happy Singh walked quietly following a few feet behind them. Geet was feeling upset because she had no clothes to wear and most importantly she did not have the wedding gift which she had so lovingly prepared for Pinky and Aditya. She had spent a long time in perfecting their portraits.

Sighing loudly she spoke to Shona, "What will I do now Shona?"

Shona comforted her and said, "Do not worry Geet, I am pretty sure your luggage with arrive by tomorrow and in the meantime you can wear my clothes. Everything will be fine Geet, do not worry."

Shona hugged Geet just as they were approaching the car. Happy Singh walked ahead of them and opened the door for them. Geet acknowledged his gesture with a gentle smile.

Shona told him to drive back to Manchanda Estates. The drive home was silent since Geet had chosen to just stare out of the window. Shona had tried to engage her in conversation a few times but Geet would just reply back in monosyllables. Therefore, Shona decided to leave Geet alone for the time being. She called Pinky on the way and told her of what had happened. Pinky told her not to worry at all and said she will be eagerly waiting for them.

Manchanda Estates, Vancouver Canada

10:14 p.m.

"Oh Pinky, I am here finally!!!! Ufff!!! Did you hear about my luggage? I am so upset."

Pinky returned her hug tightly while caressing her back and told her, "I missed u too baby. I am so happy to see you and so sorry to hear about your luggage".

She dragged Geet inside yelling at the same time, 'Mumma, Geet is here!"

At the age of fifty, Mili aunty still looked ravishing Geet thought, as she saw her walking down the stairs. Just as she reached down the stairs, Geet touched her feet and gave her a hug.

"I missed you Beta", she said hugging her and kissing her forehead.

Geet had tears in her eyes while she hugged her and she held onto her a bit longer. Pinky's mother had a few tears rolled down her cheeks as well. She cupped her face and said, "Geet beta, go freshen up and then have dinner".

Pinky, Shona and Geet walked upstairs and made their way to Pinky's bedroom. Pinky had already put clothes aside for Geet since her luggage was missing. Geet took a quick shower and changed into the silky night gown that Pinky had given her.

Geet came out of the shower and flopped on the bed with a loud sigh. Oh, I feel so fresh now that I have taken a shower.

Geet chalo lets eat dinner, we have been waiting for you. I will ask Ramu Kaka to bring our dinner upstairs. Pinky buzzed on the intercom and asked Ramu kaka to bring dinner for all of them upstairs. Geet was lying on the bed gazing at the ceiling when Ramu Kaka walked in with the dinner. Shona called her and asked her to join for dinner. Geet, utho, khana aa gaya. Geet did not hear her as she was in her own thoughts. Shona once again called out Geet! Sun rahi ho? Geet!

There was no response from her at all. Pinky and Shona looked at each other and sighed. Shona got up and walked towards the bed on which Geet was lying down. As she neared the bed, she saw a fresh line of tears trailing down her cheek. She gently shook Geet on her shoulder and softly asked, Kya hua Geet? Kahan kho gayi? Geet looked at Shona and sat up on the bed while she flung herself hugging Shona and burst out crying.
