Chapter Two

It was the day when Nupur's new boss joined the office. Nupur was busy in her cabin. At 10 a.m. Cristina informed her that her new boss came. She went to meet him. When she entered into her boss cabin she saw a very handsome guy wearing a black business suit'.

Nupur: hello'..I'm Nupur Roy, creative head of this magazine.

Guy: Hello''..I'm Mayank Basu, your new MD.

Nupur: I know'.welcome to Paradise (Paradise was the name of that magazine)

Mayank: thanks''.so you are Roy'.are you come from India?

This question made Nupur uneasy. Last seven years she never mentioned herself an Indian. She had no relation with India. But now her boss asked her this question. She wanted to avoid this question but she couldn't. If she avoided it then he might ask another question. So she decided to answer the question''

Nupur: yes'. I'm from India.

Mayank: wow''so which state do you from?

Nupur: I'm from Kolkata.

Mayank: that's great''I'm also from Kolkata but I used to live in Mumbai. B/w how long you are staying London?

Nupur: It has been seven years.

Mayank: It's a pretty long time''so do u visit your home regularly?

Now it was enough. Nupur couldn't bear it anymore. She lost her patience.

Nupur: sir I came here to do my job'not talking to you about my personal life.

Mayank noticed the anger in Nupur's voice. He couldn't understand why she suddenly got angry. What did he tell that made her angry? He couldn't figure out. But he decided not to disturb her.

Mayank: okay''I want to talk to everyone so I arranged a meeting at evening.

Nupur: okay sir'.

Mayank: don't call me Sir'..it's Mayank. U can call me by my name.

Nupur: okay''..

Nupur left Mayank's cabin and left a confused Mayank behind her. He was thinking about that girl whom she met sometimes ago. What was her problem? Why she suddenly got angry? When he was thinking this Cristina entered his cabin with some files and saw that her new MD was lost in some thought. She called him.

Cristina: hello Mr. Basu''.Ms. Roy send these files.

Mayank:okay'..leave these on table'.I'll check it later.

Cristina was leaving his cabin but Mayank stopped her.

Mayank: Cristina'.you are the personal secretary of Ms. Nupur, right?

Cristina: yes sir''

Mayank: how long you have been doing this job.

Cristina: about three years.

Mayank: tell me one thing is she behaving with everybody weirdly?

Now Cristina could understand where her boss was lost.

Cristina: yes sir'.she always behave weirdly. She is very rude and totally workaholic. We never saw her smiling. Actually we think God forgot to give her heart. It's better to stay away from her.

Mayank: oh I see''okay now you may go.

Cristina: okay sir'

Cristina left Mayank's cabin. Mayank was thinking sometimes about Nupur and at last took a decision that he would never interact with that girl without any official matter. After taking this decision Mayank went back to his work.

On the other side Nupur felt that somebody was piercing her heart. She was trying to forget those memories but every time someone came and reminded those memories. Today Mayank did this. Nupur was trying to control her emotion. After sometimes she could able to control her emotion. Rest of the day Nupur and Mayank both did their work in their respective cabin. At the evening they attended the meeting. They talked to each other professionally in the meeting. After the meeting they both left the office.

Nupur came back her home changing her clothe and went to the disco. Today she was so disturbed. In the office she was engrossed into the work that's why those memories didn't haunt her. But now she was all alone. She was trying to forget her pain with help of bear. But today bear couldn't help her to forget. At 10 p.m. she left the disco and went back to home.She entered her home and sat on the living room's floor. She lit up a cigarette. Once she hated smoking but now she smoked. Smokes were coming out of her mouth and nose. But this didn't help her to reduce her pain. So she decided to do something which she did always to reduce her pain. She took the burning cigarette in her right hand and pressed it against her left arm. After a couple of minutes there was smell of burning flesh. It hurt badly. Tears came out from her eyes. But she didn't pay any attention to those tears. Because this physical pain reduced Nupur's inner pain. After doing this Nupur felt some relief. She stood up and went to her bed room. She took two sleeping pills and went to the bed. After sometimes she went into deep slumber.

Next morning she went her office and did her work as usual. Mayank didn't talk to her without any need. They both did their work. Days passed away'''..
